Raipur. The monsoon continues to impact Chhattisgarh, and rain is lashing many parts of the state. Due to an active weather system and the monsoon trough over Bastar, intermittent rainfall occurred in several areas, including Raipur, on Saturday. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Raipur, Durg, and Bastar divisions on Sunday as well. However, as the current system advances, rainfall activity may weaken from Monday. In the first 12 days of September, two weather systems were active in the state, resulting in approximately 84 mm of rain in the state and 97.6 mm in Raipur district. The current system's impact was greatest in the Bastar region, but its effects were also felt in Raipur and Durg divisions. Following Saturday night's rain, the weather remained clear for some time in the morning, before suddenly becoming overcast and light to heavy rain began in various areas.

According to data from the past 24 hours, Dhanora in Kondagaon recorded 140 mm of rainfall, while Bastar received 100 mm of rain. Makdi, Bhanpuri, Ambagarh Chowki, and Chhura recorded 80 mm of rainfall each. Several locations, including Farasgaon, Mohla, Balod, Charama, Bastanar, and Gadiras, recorded approximately 70 mm of rainfall each. The capital, Raipur, received approximately 2 cm of rain by 5:30 pm. Weather experts predict a gradual decrease in monsoon activity in the coming days, but the rains are unlikely to stop completely as the trough remains in a normal position. Last September, Raipur district recorded 284 mm of rainfall, and this year's figures are expected to be around that level.
