Chief Minister inaugurated 'India Industrial Fair-2026' in Raipur
Raipur . Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the three-day "India Industrial Fair-2026" organized by Laghu Udyog Bharti at the Science College Grounds in Raipur, the capital. On this occasion, the Chief Minister welcomed entrepreneurs, investors, and industrial representatives from various states to Chhattisgarh and invited them to participate in the state's development journey and take advantage of the vast investment opportunities available here.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Chhattisgarh, with its traditional industrial strength, is rapidly progressing towards a new economy and emerging industries. Minerals, energy, forest wealth, abundant human resources, and a favorable geographical location in the center of the country are our inherent strengths. The state government is working to integrate these strengths with modern technology, improved infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies to establish Chhattisgarh as a leading industrial and investment destination in the country.
"The new industrial policy has given a new impetus to investment,"
Chief Minister Shri Sai said, noting that the Chhattisgarh government has implemented the Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 after extensive consultations with industry, investors, and various stakeholders. The objective of this policy is not only to attract investment, but also to create an industrial ecosystem in which investment, production, employment, and the local economy thrive together. The Chief Minister stated that Chhattisgarh is no longer limited to traditional industries like coal, steel, and cement. The state government is encouraging various new and future-oriented sectors, including IT, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and green energy, to diversify the state's industrial base. "
Minerals, energy, and forest wealth are Chhattisgarh's major strengths,"
Chief Minister Shri Sai said. Chhattisgarh is among the richest states in the country in terms of natural resources. Many important minerals, including coal, iron ore, and bauxite, are abundant here. Maximizing the value addition of these resources within the state is an important part of our industrial strategy. The Chief Minister added that the energy sector is another strong pillar of Chhattisgarh's industrial potential. The state has the capacity to generate approximately 30,000 megawatts of electricity. New investment proposals are being received in the energy sector and work is underway to further increase production capacity in the coming years. Adequate power, water resources, human resources, natural wealth and the geographical advantage of being located in the centre of the country make Chhattisgarh a natural fit for industries.
Industrial development will be linked to employment of local youth. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the real benefit of industrial development is only when it increases employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. That is why special importance has been given to local employment in the new industrial policy. Special incentives have been provided for industries that employ a large number of local youth.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw said that the 14th edition of India Industrial Fair organized by Laghu Udyog Bharti is an important occasion for the industrial development journey of Chhattisgarh. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state is ready for a new and long flight in the field of industries. He said that this event will provide an opportunity to entrepreneurs from different parts of the country to understand each other's products, technology, innovation and experience and to explore new business possibilities. With the expansion of industries, new employment opportunities will also be created in the state. He urged the entrepreneurs to explore the tourism and pilgrimage sites of the state along with the industrial possibilities of Chhattisgarh.
Investment proposals are now taking shape on the ground: Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan
Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan said that in the new industrial policy implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, many provisions have been made to attract investors and simplify the process of setting up industries. Due to the efforts of the government, along with investment proposals coming in the state, their implementation is also visible on the ground. Shri Prakash Chandra Gupta of Laghu Udyog Bharti said that for the last 32 years, the organization has been working to organize the micro and small industries of the country and to effectively convey their problems and needs to the central and state governments.
Chief Minister visited the stalls, learned about the innovations of entrepreneurs.
A large number of stalls have been set up by various industrial units of the country and the state in the India Industrial Fair-2026. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited various stalls of the fair and took information about the displayed products, technologies and innovations. From traditional Ayurvedic medicines and treatment methods to modern machinery, IT and new technology based industrial products have been displayed in the exhibition. The Chief Minister interacted cordially with entrepreneurs and industrial representatives and took information about their business activities, new technologies and industrial experiences. He also discussed with the entrepreneurs about the investment opportunities available in Chhattisgarh and the conducive environment being developed for industries.
