The Public Works Department constituted an inquiry committee to investigate complaints of poor quality construction and corruption.

The committee will submit its report to the Chief Engineer within three days.

 The Public Works Department has formed a committee of four senior officials to investigate complaints of alleged substandard construction and corruption in the renovation and upgradation work of the Rajnandgaon-Khairagarh main road and the Rajnandgaon-Mohla-Manpur road projects. The committee will investigate various aspects of the construction work and the complaint and submit a report to the Chief Engineer within three days. The investigation committee includes Chief Engineer Mr. V.S. Koram, Superintending Engineer Mr. Rajiv Nashine, and Executive Engineers Mr. Prabhat Saxena and Mr. C.S. Ogre.

The inquiry committee constituted by the Public Works Department will investigate the Rajnandgaon-Khairagarh road and Rajnandgaon-Mohla-Manpur road projects on points like getting a high-level investigation done by an independent organization, laboratory testing of all technical parameters including GSB, WMM sub-grade, asphalting, amount of bitumen, road thickness, density, gradation, level and undulation.

The committee will submit its report regarding the role of the officers and the executing agency responsible for the quality of the construction work, considering stopping the payment for the related works till the completion of the investigation, action against the concerned if compromise on quality, financial irregularity or corruption is proved and ensuring immediate repair, warning signs and alternative arrangements for safe traffic at the places where the road has been uprooted and left, including Dongargaon-Kumarda.
