Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is continuously making efforts to make farming more profitable by connecting farmers with modern and advanced agricultural techniques. Farmers are being encouraged to take up horticultural crops and commercial farming by providing them information on departmental schemes and technical guidance. In this connection, Shahid Jama Khan, a farmer from Gram Panchayat Sarabhara of Gaurela development block of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, has earned better economic benefits from tomato cultivation by adopting advanced techniques.
Shahid Jama Khan cultivates tomatoes on approximately 2 acres, earning him a profit of approximately 120,000 rupees so far. He adopted modern and advanced agricultural techniques in tomato cultivation, paying special attention to crop management. Timely agricultural practices, regular crop care, and the proper use of scientific techniques resulted in a superior harvest. As a result of high yields and proper management, tomato farming has become a significant source of income for him.
Shahid Khan has previously benefited from various Horticulture Department schemes. The department provides him with periodic information about the schemes and technical guidance on advanced agricultural techniques, crop management, and essential agricultural practices. Through departmental guidance and his own hard work, he has adopted horticultural crops as an effective means of increasing his income.
Amid the Chhattisgarh government's efforts to connect farmers with traditional farming practices, including horticulture and modern agricultural practices, farmers like Shahid Jama Khan are moving forward to increase their income by adopting advanced technologies. Their success demonstrates that scientific agricultural techniques, improved crop management, and timely technical guidance can play a crucial role in making farming more profitable.
The success of improved tomato cultivation has encouraged Shahid Jama Khan to further improve his income through horticultural crops. His initiative also opens up the possibilities of modern and commercial farming for other farmers in the region.
