A one-day special health camp organized at the Community Health Center, Orchha, as part of the state government's "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan," proved a boon for villagers in remote areas. More than 237 patients from the area attended the camp and benefited from free treatment and testing facilities for a variety of complex ailments under one roof.
The health team provided comprehensive pathology and diagnostic services at the camp. As a step towards malaria eradication, 169 people were screened, of which 41 were found to be PF positive and 7 were found to be PV positive. Similarly, to prevent malnutrition and anemia, hemoglobin levels of 146 people were tested, and 39 villagers were found to be anaemic. As part of the diabetes control campaign, blood sugar tests of 138 people revealed 6 patients with high sugar levels, who were immediately provided with necessary medications and counselling. Furthermore, patients suffering from high blood pressure and sickle cell were identified, paving the way for their continued medical care.
Prioritizing maternal and child health, 19 pregnant women were registered and prenatal checkups were performed at the camp. To provide specialized services to the villagers, eye exams, dental care, sputum sample collection for tuberculosis diagnosis, and essential tests for HIV, hepatitis, dengue, typhoid, liver, kidney, and thyroid were also performed on-site.
Expanding digital health services, the camp also generated on-the-spot "Ayushman Cards" for two eligible beneficiaries. According to health department officials, the health status of all patients identified at the camp will be regularly monitored to ensure they continue to receive accessible and quality treatment.
