Seva Sankalp Abhiyan: Story of Service

Auto mutation saves time and expense, beneficiary shares experience of saving around Rs 10,000

Aadhaar based e-KYC and WhatsApp facility making the registration process easy and transparent

Raipur, October 2026/ The hassle of repeatedly visiting the tehsil and patwari office for name transfer after land registration is now being reduced by technology-based systems. Mr. Gautam Singh, a resident of Balrampur, experienced this change himself. With the auto mutation facility of the Registration Department, the process of his name transfer proceeded automatically after registration. This saved him the need to visit the tehsil and patwari office separately. According to Mr. Singh, this system saved him time and also saved around Rs. 10,000 including travel and other expenses. He shared his experience in a dialogue with the Registration Department under the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Finance and Registration Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary, technology-based reforms have been implemented to make registration services simple, accessible, transparent, and citizen-centric. Features such as linking the name transfer process with the registry, identity verification through Aadhaar-based e-KYC, and providing registration information through WhatsApp are all designed to reduce unnecessary hassle for citizens.

Once the registry is done, the process of name transfer also moves forward automatically.

Mr. Gautam Singh explained that previously, after registering a land, they had to go to the tehsil and patwari offices separately for mutation. Repeated visits to complete the process were time-consuming and incurred additional expenses. The auto-mutation system has relieved them of this hassle.

Sharing his experience, Mr. Singh said, "Previously, after registration, one had to visit the tehsil and the patwari. Now, the auto mutation process proceeds directly from the registry office. This has saved both time and money."

According to him, he realized he saved about 10,000 rupees by reducing his office visits. This convenience also reduced his worries about name transfers after the registry.

Aadhaar based e-KYC strengthens identity verification

The use of technology in the registration system is not limited to name transfers. The identity of parties is being verified through Aadhaar-based e-KYC. This is helping to increase transparency in the registration process and reduce the risk of errors due to mistaken identity.

Mr. Gautam Singh also praised these technology-based improvements as convenient. He said that the digital identity verification system has increased trust in the process and made registration more seamless.

Information on WhatsApp reduces the need to visit the office for routine tasks.

For the convenience of citizens, information regarding various registration steps, appointments, and registered documents is also being made available through WhatsApp. This reduces the need for frequent office visits for general information and documents.

Gautam's story—less running around, saving time and money

Mr. Gautam Singh's experience shows that technological integration between the registration and mutation processes is providing practical relief to citizens. For him, auto mutation means more than just a digital convenience, but also a relief from running to the tehsil and patwari offices, saving time and reducing travel expenses.

Through the "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan," the Registration Department is directly interacting with beneficiaries to gather on-the-ground impacts, experiences, and suggestions of these reforms. Gautam Singh's story is a reflection of this transformation—where technology is shortening processes and making the journey from property registration to mutation more seamless for citizens.
