State-level High Power Steering Committee meeting of Mission AMRUT 2.0 concluded under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary
Raipur, October 2026/ The State-Level High Power Steering Committee of Mission Amrit 2.0 met today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Vikassheel at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. The meeting reviewed ongoing development projects related to drinking water, sewerage treatment, water body restoration, and park development in the state's urban bodies. The Chief Secretary directed all concerned departmental officials to ensure quality and complete all construction works within the time limit.
Regarding the overall physical and financial progress of AMRUT 2.0, a total of 81 projects have been approved under the Mission. Administrative approval has been granted to 64 of these projects, and work has been awarded for 45 projects. Currently, 19 projects are in the tender process, and the DPRs for the remaining 11 projects are targeted for approval by the end of this month.
Of the 37 approved projects under water supply schemes, work has been awarded for 36 projects. During the meeting, administrative approval for the detailed project report for the Jagdalpur (Bastar) Water Supply Scheme was discussed.
Nine STPs with a total capacity of 333 MLD are being constructed in the state's major urban bodies (Ambikapur, Rajnandgaon, Korba, Bhilai, and Durg) at a cost of ₹465.82 crore. In order to increase the green cover in cities, work on four park development projects has been awarded in Bilaspur, Mungeli, Kanker, and Ahiwara over the past month.
The approval of the revised State Action Plan prepared under the sub-plan for preparing a GIS-based master plan for Amrit cities was reviewed and necessary guidelines were given. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of Urban Administration Department, Shri Sonmani Bora, along with officials from Panchayat and Rural Development, Forest and Climate Change, Urban Administration and Development, Finance, Water Resources, Housing and Environment, Public Health Engineering Department and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India through video conference.
