Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the state government is continuously working towards protecting the health of the common citizens and ensuring the availability of pure, safe and quality food items. In this sequence, the Food and Drug Administration is closely monitoring the quality of food items in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Efforts are being made to protect the health interests of consumers through inspection of food establishments, collection of food samples and necessary action based on laboratory tests.
Under Vishnu's good governance, special attention is being paid to adherence to food safety standards in the district. The Food and Drug Administration is taking legal action against food items found to be non-compliant with the prescribed standards upon inspection. In this connection, an order has been issued to immediately ban the sale and distribution of the relevant batch of Fortune Flour. The administration has given clear instructions to food traders to ensure mandatory adherence to food safety standards and not to sell or distribute products from the banned batch.
Irregularities found in cheese testing, action taken to protect public health
The Food and Drug Administration, through the Food Safety Officer in Gaurela, duly collected a sample of cheese and sent it for laboratory testing. The test report found the vegetable fat content to be 77 percent above the prescribed limit, and the food analyst declared the cheese unsafe. Taking this irregularity revealed in the investigation seriously, the department is taking necessary action in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act.
In this sequence, the Food and Drug Administration, District Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, has issued an order prohibiting the sale and distribution of Fortune Flour, batch number FAMD50059A, in the district with immediate effect. The department has instructed the concerned food traders to strictly follow the order and ensure the sale of food items in accordance with the prescribed standards.
Inspection of food establishments increased, samples of various food items collected
In order to make the food safety system effective in the district, the Food and Drug Administration is inspecting various food establishments and collecting samples. In this connection, samples of Maggi and Sabudana from Grihasthi Supermarket and various food items from 786 Biryani Center and Hari Confectionery have been collected for testing.
The collected samples have been sent for testing as per the prescribed procedures. Upon receiving the test report, further action will be taken as per the regulations based on the quality and safety standards of the food items. The department is striving to ensure that food items available in the market conform to the prescribed quality standards and to protect consumers from unsafe food items.
Emphasis on adherence to food safety standards, necessary instructions given to traders
In line with the state government's public health priorities, the Food and Drug Administration has appealed to all food businesses in the district to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act. Instructions have been given to ensure adherence to prescribed standards regarding cleanliness and quality during the production, storage, transportation, and sale of food items.
The department has clarified that irregularities related to food quality will be taken seriously. If substandard or unsafe food items are found during inspection, action will be taken as per the relevant provisions. The process of inspection and sample testing of food establishments will continue.
