Participation of youth in the grand festival of democracy: Voter awareness campaign of SWEEP and NSS in Government College Marwahi

25 new young voters immediately filled out online forms; learned about free and fair voting

Raipur, October 2026/ Veerangna Rani Durgavati Government College, Marwahi, hosted a special and impressive program as part of the voter awareness campaign today. The program was organized jointly by the District Organizer of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and SVEEP, with the primary objective of informing college students about the importance of voting in a democracy and encouraging youth to register on the voter list.

Information provided about free and fair elections

During the program, the students present were given detailed information about the Indian electoral system, the right to vote, and the process of "free, fair, and transparent elections." Speakers inspired the youth, stating that the foundation of a strong and prosperous democracy lies in the conscious hands of young people. Therefore, every eligible citizen must exercise their right to vote without any inducement or pressure.

On-the-spot online registration was done for 25 students who had completed 18 years of age.

The most important feature of the program was the rapid registration of new voters. Students who have attained the age of 18 were experimentally explained the entire online process of adding their names to the electoral roll through the Voter Helpline App and the NVSP portal.
This awareness campaign had an immediate impact, with 25 eligible students successfully submitting online applications for adding their names to the electoral roll during the program itself.
The Nodal Officer (SWEP) and District Organizer, National Service Scheme, stated that youth are the greatest force in democracy. Every student who has attained the age of 18 should play their part in strengthening the country's democratic structure by registering their names on the electoral roll.

Great enthusiasm seen among the youth

College professors, NSS volunteers, and a large number of students enthusiastically participated in the program. The youth pledged not only to register themselves but also to take up the responsibility of raising awareness about voting in their villages and surrounding areas.
