CRPF SI Death: Shots fired at CRPF camp at midnight, SI of 131st Battalion killed

Bijapur: A major tragedy has emerged from Chhattisgarh's Bastar division. A sub-inspector has died after being shot at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Metaguda, bordering Sukma in Bijapur district. The deceased has been identified as Devanand Yadav, posted with the CRPF's 131st Battalion. Preliminary investigations suggest he shot himself with his service weapon.
The incident occurred between Monday and Tuesday night. Hearing the gunshots, other soldiers and officers present at the camp rushed to the scene. The injured officer was immediately taken for treatment, but he died during treatment. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
