Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao Visits United Nations Headquarters in New York

Raipur : Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Arun Sao, visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Thursday during his study tour of the United States. He toured various sections, including the General Assembly Hall and the Security Council Chamber, to gain an understanding of the UN's functioning. Accompanying him on this study tour was Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary of the Public Works Department. Shri Sao’s visit to the United Nations was made at the invitation of Mr. Anand Pandey, Chief Financial Officer at the UN, who hails from Belsari (Takhatpur) in Bilaspur district. Following the visit, Shri Sao said that it is a matter of immense pride for the entire state of Chhattisgarh that a son of Belsari holds such a prestigious position in one of the world’s most important organizations.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao also attended an event organized in his honour by Indian-origin residents at the Royal Albert’s Palace in New Jersey. In his address, he highlighted the contributions being made toward the development of both Chhattisgarh and the nation, discussing the state's rich culture, tourism potential, ancient beliefs, natural resources, and the simplicity of its people.

Shri Sao further shared his views on the progress made in Chhattisgarh and extended an invitation to the Indian diaspora in the United States to visit the state and witness its unique charm and natural beauty. He also inquired about Chhattisgarhi individuals residing in the United States. As a token of appreciation, Shri Sao presented the event organizers with a photograph of an artwork made from the berries of Lord Shri Ram, which was created in Lorami under his initiative.

Addressing the Indian-origin community in New Jersey, Shri Sao emphasized that wherever Indians have settled across the globe, they have significantly contributed to the development of their host countries. He praised the diaspora for their role in upholding India's honor and pride. Shri Sao added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is swiftly moving toward becoming the world's third-largest economy.
