Raipur, September 6, 2025/Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today underlined that the health of the state’s three crore people is the government’s topmost priority and assured that “financial resources will never be an obstacle in providing healthcare to the people of the state.” Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing a large gathering of medical experts and participants after inaugurating the two-day AROCON 2025 Chhattisgarh–Madhya Pradesh Chapter at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College auditorium in Raipur. On the occasion, he also announced the construction of a ₹65 crore hostel for students at Raipur Medical College.

CM Sai hailed the contribution of doctors and specialists in saving the lives of thousands of cancer patients. “Many patients battling cancer are receiving a new lease of life due to your efforts and modern medical practices. In the last two decades, research in the field of early detection and treatment of cancer has yielded encouraging results, raising new hopes for the future,” he said. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cancer day-care centres are being established in every district across the country, and Chhattisgarh too is moving swiftly in this direction.

Highlighting state-level initiatives, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana has enabled costly treatments for many patients in Chhattisgarh. The reduction of GST on cancer medicines and medical equipment has also brought major relief to patients. He noted that advanced equipment for cancer treatment is being made available in state hospitals. “Today, AIIMS Raipur is launching a robotic surgery system, which proves that government hospitals are at the forefront of adopting cutting-edge technology. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is proving to be highly useful in cancer detection, and the state government is making efforts to integrate it into healthcare services,” he added.

CM Sai further said that the government is continuously increasing the health budget and opening new medical colleges. He announced that a 5,000-bed capacity Medicity is being developed at Nava Raipur, where reputed hospitals from across the country will provide services. “To strengthen healthcare in remote areas like Bastar and Surguja, the government is exploring every possible option. New hospitals will be set up in Surguja, Dharamjaigarh and Bastar,” he informed, expressing confidence that the deliberations at AROCON 2025 would prove to be a milestone in cancer prevention and treatment.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, in his address, welcomed doctors participating in the seventh edition of AROCON 2025 and said that bringing together specialists from diverse fields of cancer treatment on one platform will open new dimensions for tackling the disease. He emphasised that Raipur’s Mekahara Hospital is not only a major centre for Chhattisgarh but also serves patients from neighbouring states. “In the future, through advanced machines and new technologies, the hospital’s services will be further upgraded,” he said.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that Raipur Medical College houses the largest cancer centre in the state, where all modern facilities are being provided. He announced that six physiotherapy colleges will soon be set up in Chhattisgarh, super-speciality hospitals will be established in Bastar and Surguja, a dedicated hospital for mental health patients will be created, and a Naturopathy College will be opened. He further added that Mekahara will see an expansion of 700 beds at a cost of ₹232 crore, along with advanced facilities such as robotic surgery and an IVF centre.

The event was also attended by MLA Purandar Mishra, Dean of Raipur Medical College Dr. Vivek Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Ayush University Prof. P.K. Patra, specialist doctors, students and dignitaries.

Raipur, September 6, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Vishambhar Yadav of Surajpur district, who is undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, and enquired about his health. Chief Minister Shri Sai also spoke to doctors about the condition of Vishambhar Yadav and gave necessary instructions to ensure the best possible treatment.

At AIIMS Raipur, CM Sai also met Neelu Gupta and enquired about his wellbeing. Mr. Gupta informed the Chief Minister that he and Mr. Yadav had both been injured in the same road accident. Chief Minister Shri Sai announced ₹5 lakh financial assistance each to support the treatment of Mr. Vishambhar Yadav and Mr. Neelu Gupta. 

Chief Minister also interacted with Mrs. Usha Yadav, wife of Mr. Vishambhar Yadav, and assured her that all possible support would be provided for treatment.

Raipur, September 5, 2025/Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today disbursed the 19th installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana at a grand programme in Kharsia, Raigarh district. On this occasion, he transferred ₹1,000 each directly into the bank accounts of 69,15,994 women. A total of ₹647.13 crore was credited with a single click.

Speaking at the event, CM Sai described the Mahatari Vandan Yojana as a transformative initiative to improve the standard of living of women and strengthen their self-respect. He expressed confidence that this financial assistance would not only empower women to become self-reliant but also reinforce family income and social security. Engaging with women present at the venue, he assured them that the state government would always stand by their side and continue to take consistent measures to improve their lives.

CM Sai said the scheme was infusing hope, confidence and new inspiration into the lives of Chhattisgarh’s mothers and sisters. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continually work for women’s welfare and the overall progress of society.

He further said that since the scheme was launched on March 1, 2024, nearly 69 lakh eligible women have been receiving monthly financial assistance directly into their bank accounts. With today’s 19th installment, a total of ₹12,376.19 crore has so far been transferred to beneficiaries. Chief Minister Shri Sai added that the scheme was playing a pivotal role in providing social security, fostering self-reliance and boosting women’s confidence.

Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade said the Mahatari Vandan Yojana was bringing new energy, confidence and respect to women across the state. The scheme, she added, was not only positively transforming the lives of women but also strengthening families and driving social change. The state government, she underlined, has announced that women’s development, safety and dignity will remain the highest priority and the scheme will be made even more effective.

State-level Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony held at Raj Bhavan

Raipur, September 5, 2025/ Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today felicitated outstanding teachers of the year 2024 at a grand state-level Teacher’s Day function held at the Chhattisgarh Mandapam in Raj Bhavan.

At the ceremony, both the Governor and the Chief Minister extended greetings and congratulations to all the award-winning teachers of 2024. A total of 64 teachers were honoured with the Governor’s Award. On the occasion, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav also announced the names of 64 teachers selected for the State Teachers’ Awards for the year 2025.

Delivering the keynote address, Governor Ramen Deka, the chief guest, first paid homage to India’s first Vice-President, eminent philosopher and educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary. He said education is the most powerful tool for the holistic development of human beings. “A teacher is a role model for his or her students. Good teachers play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens,” he noted.

The Governor said that teachers are a source of inspiration in the lives of students and have a major role in their growth. “Life today is not easy. Students must be taught how to rise after a fall and face life’s challenges,” he added.

Governor Ramen Deka further said teachers should impart lessons in a way that draws children towards schools. “It is not the school building that matters, but what is taught inside it,” he remarked, describing India’s ancient Gurukul tradition as exemplary. He called the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 a game-changer. “It is the responsibility of teachers to ensure children receive education in line with this policy, which was introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Its primary objective is to make education more practical, skill-based and holistic,” he said. He emphasized that the policy lays special stress on imparting education in the mother tongue. “When a child learns in his or her mother tongue, education becomes easier and more interesting,” he observed.

Highlighting innovative practices, Governor Ramen Deka said it was a matter of pride that teachers in the state were using creative and effective teaching aids, making the learning process more engaging and simple. “Providing education suited to the changing environment must be our priority. Meaningful initiatives are needed in this direction. Curriculum content must also be updated to suit the times,” he urged.

Presiding over the event, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said teachers are the true nation-builders, producing patriotic citizens who contribute to the progress of society and the nation. “Just as a lamp burns itself to spread light, teachers spread the light of knowledge despite many hardships,” he remarked. He added that Chhattisgarh, now celebrating its Silver Jubilee year, has made remarkable progress in all fields over the past 25 years. “Education is the mantra of development, and life is incomplete without it. The sector has witnessed major expansion in recent years. Today, the state has more than 20 universities, over 15 medical colleges, and institutions of national repute such as IIT, IIM, AIIMS, and the National Law University,” the CM said.

Sai reiterated the government’s resolve to make education easily accessible to every child. “That is why primary schools are being set up within 1 km, middle schools within 3–4 km, high schools within 6–7 km, higher secondary schools within 8–10 km, and colleges in every block,” he informed. He also shared his views on the innovative initiatives being undertaken by the education department.

Speaking on the occasion, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav said that with the implementation of the National Education Policy, the standard of education in the state will improve further in the coming years. He also announced the names of the teachers selected for next year’s State Teachers’ Awards.

At the ceremony, four distinguished teachers were conferred with special memorial awards: Ajay Kumar Chaturvedi from Surajpur district received the Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi Memorial Award;

Ramesh Kumar Chandravanshi from Kabirdham district received the Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh Memorial Award; Sunita Yadav from Sarangarh–Bilaigarh district received the Dr. Mukutdhar Pandey Memorial Award; and

Bhojram Patel from Raigarh district received the Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra Memorial Award.

Alongside, 64 outstanding teachers from categories including Headmasters, Lecturers, LB Lecturers, LB Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and LB Assistant Teachers were also felicitated.

On this occasion, School Education Secretary Siddharth Komal Pardeshi delivered the welcome address, while Director of Public Instruction Rituraj Raghuvanshi proposed the vote of thanks.

The Chief Minister extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to Prof. Vyas and his team for the successful launch of the ‘Adi Vani’ project, a mobile application designed for Gondi language translation. He said the achievement is a matter of pride not only for Chhattisgarh but for the entire country.

Sai noted that the app would enable the voices of Gondi-speaking tribal brothers and sisters to reach not just the national stage but the international arena as well. “This technology will serve as a powerful medium to connect them with the mainstream, ensure their participation in education and governance, and strengthen their role in society,” he said. The CM expressed confidence that IIIT Naya Raipur would continue to bring similar innovations and socially driven research, enhancing the pride of both state and nation.

Prof. Vyas briefed the Chief Minister that the project has developed text-to-speech and translation systems for the Gondi language, enabling translations from Gondi to Hindi and English, and vice versa. He added that the facility is now available as a mobile app, making it easily accessible for the public.

He further informed that the project involves collaboration between IIIT Naya Raipur and other premier institutions such as IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, and BITS Pilani. The ‘Adi Vani’ project is sponsored by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

Prof. Vyas also emphasized that this milestone has established IIIT Naya Raipur’s strong presence on the national stage. Importantly, he said, the technology will benefit more than 3 million Gondi-speaking people in the Bastar region, giving them an opportunity to preserve their language and culture and to raise their voice confidently in the digital age.

The twin initiatives aim to spread awareness of space science among schoolchildren. On the occasion, two significant Memorandums of Understanding were signed—between the Raipur district administration and the Igniting Dreams of Young Minds Foundation, and between the Raipur district administration and Vigyan Bharati. These partnerships will help provide students with meaningful knowledge on subjects related to space.

Extending greetings on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, CM Sai congratulated and felicitated Group Captain Shubhashnu Shukla for his successful space mission. In this spirit, a grand Teeja Milan was organised today at the residence of Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma. The event showcased the rich hues of Chhattisgarhi culture, tradition, music and folk dance. Women, adorned in traditional attire, created a joyous atmosphere with their melodious folk songs.

The Chief Minister said, “I am deeply pained by this heart-wrenching incident. I pray to the Almighty for peace to the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of the injured.” Extending condolences to the bereaved families, he added that the Government of Chhattisgarh stands firmly with the families of the deceased and the injured in this hour of grief.

As soon as the Chief Minister was informed of the incident, he directed the district administration to ensure proper medical treatment and necessary assistance for the injured. He instructed that no lapse should occur in providing treatment and that every injured person must receive immediate and appropriate care.

The state government has sanctioned financial assistance of ₹5 lakh each for the families of the three deceased and ₹50,000 each for the injured. The Chief Minister further said that the administration must remain in constant touch with the affected families and provide them with all possible support.

Raipur, September 3, 2025/Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed deep sorrow over the collapse of the Lutti (Satbahini) Dam at village Dhaneshpur in Balrampur district. In this tragic incident, four people lost their lives, three were injured, and three are reported missing. The Chief Minister said this is an extremely painful and distressing tragedy. “I pray to the Almighty for peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that due to heavy rainfall, this natural disaster has not only caused loss of lives but also damaged houses, destroyed crops, and led to cattle deaths. He noted that this situation is extremely difficult and painful for the affected families. He assured that the state government stands firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.

He informed that district administration teams along with NDRF, SDRF, and local units are fully engaged in relief and rescue operations. Adequate arrangements have been made for the treatment of the injured, and every possible effort is being made to trace the missing persons.

CM Sai has directed the district administration to promptly prepare a proposal for sanction of ex-gratia assistance in accordance with government rules for the loss of lives in the incident. He instructed that temporary shelters, food grains, and other essential materials be provided to the affected families. He also directed that detailed surveys of house damage, crop loss, and cattle loss be conducted and relief ensured at the earliest.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is keeping a close watch on the situation and is fully committed to providing every possible assistance and support to the affected families.

Raipur, September 3, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today laid the foundation stone of the Joint Headquarters building of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies at Sector-24 in Naya Raipur. On the auspicious occasion of the state’s Silver Jubilee year and Ganesh Utsav, the ceremony began with traditional rituals and unveiling of a 3D model of the building. The Chief Minister said that the upcoming headquarters will enhance the efficiency of officers and employees, strengthen coordination among the three power companies, and ensure that consumers receive all services under one roof. On this occasion, he also planted a Moulshree sapling under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

CM Sai said that Chhattisgarh’s 25-year journey is proof that when determination and sensitivity move together, the results are historic. In 2000, the state’s power generation capacity was just 1,400 MW; today it has risen to 30,000 MW. He noted that the recent inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a new 1,320 MW power plant has further strengthened this achievement. The Chief Minister added that this progress is the outcome of every citizen’s trust, hard work, and participation.

Referring to his recent visit to Japan and South Korea, the Chief Minister said that the experience showed him that Chhattisgarh is now moving rapidly towards global-level infrastructure and work culture. The Joint Headquarters building, he said, will be an important milestone in that direction. He instructed officials to ensure quality and timely completion of the building, so that it becomes a new identity for Chhattisgarh’s energy sector.

The Chief Minister further informed that under the new industrial policy, MoUs worth nearly ₹3 lakh crore have recently been signed in the power sector. As a result, an additional 30,000 MW of power generation will be possible in the coming years. He said this achievement will not only ensure 24-hour uninterrupted electricity for the people of the state but also meet the requirements of neighboring states. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme is rapidly propelling Chhattisgarh towards free electricity, with its benefits already reaching even remote regions.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, on this occasion, paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his contribution to the formation of Chhattisgarh. He said that the building, to be constructed at a cost of nearly ₹270 crore, will be based on green energy and serve as an inspiration for generations to come.

The event was attended by Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, Anuj Sharma, and Inder Kumar Sahu, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Energy Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav, along with a large number of officials and employees.

The Joint Headquarters building will be constructed in a nine-storey structure over an area of 10,017 square meters. It will have three separate towers for the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, Power Generation Company Limited, and Power Transmission Company Limited. Designed to accommodate 1,300 employees, it will include a 210-seat auditorium, a gymnasium for employees, two-level basement parking, mechanical stack parking, and e-vehicle charging facilities. Raipur, September 3, 2025/A historic step was taken today towards the expansion and strengthening of healthcare services in Chhattisgarh. In a programme organized at Mahanadi Bhawan, an MoU was signed between the Department of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh and Continental Hospital Telangana in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. This agreement has been signed under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

On this occasion, Forest and Transport Minister Kedar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Health Secretary Amit Kataria, Health Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Shukla, NMDC officials Jaydeep Das Gupta and Srinivas Rao, and Continental Hospital Hyderabad Chairman Dr. Gurunath Reddy, Dr. Raghunath Reddy and K.V. Reddy along with several senior officials were present.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the state government’s goal is to ensure that world-class healthcare facilities reach every citizen, including those in tribal regions. He noted that construction of this hospital had started eight years ago, and today, as Chhattisgarh celebrates its Silver Jubilee year, the signing of this MoU carries historic significance. He added that the agreement, taking place on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Mahotsav, is a promising sign for the people of the state.

The Chief Minister further said that people in the Bastar region had long been deprived of advanced medical facilities, but now this hospital will prove to be a boon for them. In particular, it will serve as a lifesaver for security personnel deployed on the Naxal front. Earlier, injured soldiers had to be flown by air ambulance to Raipur, but now they will receive advanced treatment in Jagdalpur itself.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the objective of the state government is to provide timely and better health services to every citizen. He added that the establishment of a super speciality hospital in Bastar is a matter of pride for both the state and the local residents. Earlier, such services were available only in big cities like Raipur and Bilaspur, but now the people of Bastar will also be able to benefit. He assured that the Health Department will make every possible resource available to meet future challenges.

Health Secretary Amit Kataria informed that the construction of this super speciality hospital involved an expenditure of ₹200 crore, out of which ₹120 crore was borne by the central government and ₹80 crore by the state government. The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has also made an important contribution to this project. He added that the hospital is spread over 11 acres and is equipped with state-of-the-art machines and equipment.

This 10-storey hospital will have a capacity of 240 beds. Departments of Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Urology, and Gastroenterology will be operational here. Along with OPD, ICU and emergency services, advanced intensive care facilities will also be available. A team of specialist doctors will provide treatment at government rates.

These services, available at government rates, will benefit not only Bastar division but also patients across Chhattisgarh and the country. On this occasion, officials, public representatives, and representatives of the Continental Hospital management described this historic initiative as a milestone for the state’s health sector. This will provide advanced healthcare to lakhs of people in Bastar region, reducing their dependence on big cities. The hospital will serve as a new ray of hope and a life-saving facility not only for Bastar but also for patients across Chhattisgarh and the country.

Big Relief for Farmers: CM Vishnu Deo Sai Secures Additional 60,000 Tonnes of Urea This Month

6.39 lakh tonnes of urea already distributed this Kharif season, higher than 6.17 lakh tonnes supplied in the same period last year

Adequate stocks of urea and other fertilizers in the state; Centre approves additional allocation on CM’s request

Raipur, September 01, 2025/ In a major relief for farmers, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s initiative has ensured that the Government of India has approved an additional allocation of 60,000 tonnes of urea for Chhattisgarh. Of this, 20,000 tonnes will be supplied in the first week of September, 35,000 tonnes in the second week, and the remaining 5,000 tonnes by the end of the month. CM Sai said the state government is sensitive to every requirement of farmers, and this extra allocation will help safeguard their Kharif crops.

Markfed officials informed that as of August 28, a total stock of 7,02,642 metric tonnes of urea has been stored—3,91,079 metric tonnes in the cooperative sector and 3,11,563 metric tonnes in the private sector. Against this, 6,38,599 metric tonnes have already been distributed to farmers, comprising 3,42,444 metric tonnes from the cooperative sector and 2,96,155 metric tonnes from the private sector. This is higher than the 6,17,798 metric tonnes distributed during the same period last year, a clear indication of better supply management this season.

The state has also ensured adequate availability of nano fertilizers. A total of 2,91,059 bottles of nano urea—1,78,919 in the cooperative sector and 1,12,140 in the private sector—have been stocked. Similarly, 2,38,619 bottles of nano DAP—1,58,809 in the cooperative sector and 79,810 in the private sector—have been stored. So far, farmers have received 2,32,652 bottles of nano urea and 1,85,136 bottles of nano DAP.

For the ongoing Kharif season, the Centre has set a target of 14.62 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizers for Chhattisgarh. Against this, 15.64 lakh tonnes have already been stocked by cooperative and private agencies. Based on this stock, 13.19 lakh tonnes have been distributed to farmers. This confirms that both societies and private dealers have sufficient fertilizer available, ensuring farmers face no difficulties.

CM Sai said fertilizer supply during the Kharif season is being prioritized according to farmers’ timely needs. So far, 98 percent of the targeted urea has already reached farmers. He assured that adequate fertilizer will continue to be supplied in line with weather and crop requirements so that harvests remain protected.

In recent days, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam and Members of Parliament from the state also met Union Fertilizer Minister J.P. Nadda to present the farmers’ demand. Under CM Sai’s guidance, continuous follow-up with the Centre ensured approval of the additional 60,000 tonnes of urea keeping farmers’ needs in mind.

Officials stated that fertilizer distribution through cooperative societies and private dealers is being conducted in an organized manner. Farmers are able to access fertilizers easily from societies, and timely supplies are being ensured. As a result, agriculture is not only protected from disruption but is also gaining further strength. Feedback from various districts indicates that farmers are satisfied with the initiative, saying that timely availability of urea and other fertilizers has kept sowing and crop management on track.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated that the state government stands shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers. He said that ensuring the supply of essentials like fertilizers, seeds, and irrigation remains the government’s top priority. Expressing confidence, he added that with the coordinated efforts of the Centre and the state, farmers will receive substantial relief this Kharif season and Chhattisgarh will set new benchmarks in agricultural production.

CM Vishnu Deo Sai Reviews Flood Relief Operations

Meeting with Senior Officials of Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur and Bastar; Directs Authorities to Remain Alert and Responsible Until Normalcy Restored

Raipur, September 1, 2025/ During his visit to Dantewada district today, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai held a review meeting on flood, disaster and relief operations at the Dankini conference hall of the district office. Collectors and senior officials of Dantewada, as well as those from Sukma, Bijapur and Bastar districts of the Bastar Division, participated in the meeting. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Tankram Verma, Forest Minister and district in-charge Minister Kedar Kashyap, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap, regional MLA Chaitram Atami, and District Panchayat President Nandlal Mudami were also present.

CM Sai reviewed the damage caused by heavy rains on August 26 and 27 and the relief efforts carried out by the administration. Addressing officials, he said the prompt response of administrative teams during this natural disaster was commendable. He noted that discussions with villagers in the affected areas made it clear that they were satisfied with the administration’s swiftness and readiness.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the natural calamity and devastation that struck last month caused irreparable loss to life, property and infrastructure. He expressed satisfaction that immediate steps were taken by the district administration for rescue and relief operations. He further lauded government officers and employees for contributing one day’s salary as a donation, calling it exemplary. CM Sai pointed out that the floods had caused damage worth ₹115 crore to infrastructure across the four districts, and assured that the State Government would extend all possible support for repairs. He also appreciated the efforts of non-governmental and voluntary organizations.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed all officials to continue relief and health camps in the four districts as long as required, until normalcy returns. He instructed the administration to remain in constant touch with the affected people and to ensure uninterrupted health services in the flood-hit areas. He called for regular medical camps to be held, with villagers examined, timely advice given, and necessary medicines and health facilities made available without delay. CM Sai also directed all Collectors to immediately disburse relief funds.

During the meeting, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Subodh Kumar Singh, instructed that traffic on the National Highway must not be disrupted. He asked the Executive Engineer to immediately forward proposals to the Central office and also directed urgent action for repair works on the National Highway in Keshkal.

Meanwhile, Revenue Secretary Reena Babasaheb Kangale instructed Collectors to allocate compensation amounts for livestock loss as per the new guidelines. Director of Health Services Dr. Priyanka Shukla said that continuous door-to-door health surveys must be conducted in the flood-affected areas. She directed health officials to ensure that diseases such as malaria, typhoid and other waterborne illnesses do not spread. She also instructed mandatory chlorination and testing of all drinking water sources.

Earlier, the Collectors of Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur and Bastar presented detailed reports on flood damages and relief operations carried out by their respective administrations as per the agenda. The presentation included data on affected villages, damaged bridges and culverts, disrupted electricity supply, and mobile network outages. Numerical and factual figures on loss of life and property, collapsed houses, and livestock deaths were shared through a PowerPoint presentation.

The Collectors also gave information on rescue operations conducted by the administration, relocation of affected people to relief camps, provision of immediate treatment, and distribution of food supplies. It was noted that residents of villages located along riverbanks and streams suffered the most damage, but timely administrative relief was ensured.

The meeting was attended by Bastar Division Commissioner Doman Singh, Bastar IG Sundarraj P, Dantewada Collector Kunal Dudawat, Sukma Collector Devesh Dhruv, Bijapur Collector Sambit Mishra, Bastar District Panchayat CEO Prateek Jain, along with SPs and other district-level officials.

Raipur, September 1, 2025/ Thanks to the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the preparation of flood-affected Poonam Patel from Dantewada for the civil services will now continue without interruption. Living in a Naxal-affected area like Dantewada, Poonam has been preparing for the UPSC examinations for the last three years. Following the recent floods in Dantewada, her entire family has been living in a relief camp. Today, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Poonam and enquired about her well-being. On the CM’s instructions, Poonam has been provided with essential books and a new tablet for her competitive exam preparation. This ensures that her UPSC studies will face no further obstacles.

Poonam Patel, a resident of Churitikara Para Ward in Dantewada district, has been pursuing UPSC preparations for the past three years. In the recent floods, her house was damaged and all household belongings were swept away. Poonam said that all her books were washed away in the floodwaters and her tablet was also ruined. She added that her father, Santosh Patel, runs a grocery shop to support the family, and from his meagre income he had painstakingly saved every rupee to buy her a tablet for UPSC preparation. With her books and tablet destroyed in the floods, Poonam had become extremely anxious about continuing her studies.

Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the district administration has now provided Poonam with a new tablet and the essential books required for competitive examinations. This assistance has brought her much-needed relief. With this support, even the floods will not be able to derail Poonam’s journey towards becoming an administrative officer.

Prompt Relief by Administration: Flood Victims Receive Rations

Utensils, Clothes, Gas Cylinders and Stoves Provided; Compensation Released for Collapsed Houses

Raipur, September 1, 2025/ The administration acted swiftly to deal with the recent floods in Dantewada and extend timely assistance to the affected families. During his foreign visit, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had also issued necessary instructions to Collectors of the flood-affected districts through video conferencing from South Korea.

Today, when the Chief Minister reached Churitikara Para in Dantewada, flood-hit families expressed gratitude for the timely rescue and relief provided by the administration. People present said that due to the government’s sensitive initiative, all affected families are safe and secure. The relief camp is fully equipped with facilities for shelter, food, and medical care.

Flood victims Gupteshwari Kashyap, Shalini Sharma, Savita Patre and Lata Sagar told Chief Minister Sai that they were not facing any difficulty in the camp, and rations, utensils, clothes, gas cylinders and stoves had also been distributed. They added that compensation for collapsed houses had already been received and until their homes are rebuilt, they would continue to stay at the relief camp. The affected families further shared that when the floods struck, they had immediately moved to safer high ground on the administration’s appeal, and once the waters receded, they were accommodated at the hostel building in Churitikara Para.

Similarly, Rita Kashyap, Dropadi Nag, Kundan Gupta, Mahesh Nag, Babita Nag and other affected residents also appreciated the relief and rehabilitation efforts of the administration and conveyed their thanks to Chief Minister Sai.

Somdi Sodhi Turns Emotional in Front of CM

When Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the home of Somdi Sodhi, a resident of Churitikara Para, she became emotional. She recounted that her entire house had been submerged in the floods. A day before the floods, she had been admitted to hospital for treatment, with both her daughters accompanying her—an incident which eventually saved their lives. She returned home on Friday after recovery.

Somdi said that all household items were damaged in the floodwaters. However, the administration provided rations, utensils, clothes, gas cylinders and a stove. In addition, breakfast, meals, and healthcare are being arranged at the relief camp. In this hour of crisis, she expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for the government’s assistance.

Likewise, Suresh Baghel, another flood victim from Churitikara Para, said that on the day of the floods, his entire family was at home. On receiving the administration’s alert, they moved to a safe location and reached the relief camp the following day. He returned home from the camp last Friday.

Suresh shared that the administration had provided all essential items such as rations, utensils, gas cylinders and stoves, blankets, bed sheets, and clothes, which brought major relief to his family.

CM Sai Visits Flood-Hit Bastar, Directs Officials to Speed Up Relief and Rehabilitation Works

CM Conducts Aerial and Ground Survey of Affected Areas in Bastar Division

Raipur, September 1, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today carried out an aerial survey and ground inspection of the flood-affected districts of Dantewada and Bastar in the Bastar Division. He personally reviewed the ground situation and took stock of the progress in relief and rehabilitation operations. CM Sai said that timely assistance to every flood-affected family is the State Government’s top priority, and this requires sensitivity and promptness at every level.

The Chief Minister visited the temporary relief camp set up at Churitikara Para in Dantewada, where he interacted with flood-affected families and heard their grievances. He assured them that the government stands firmly with every distressed family. Directing the administration, he emphasized that adequate food, clean drinking water, and safe shelter must be ensured in all camps on a continuous basis. He further said that immediate assistance should reach all affected people and that their rehabilitation work must be taken up on a priority basis and completed expeditiously.

The Chief Minister also instructed officials to provide essential items such as rations, utensils, and clothes in sufficient quantity in the relief camps. He directed that financial assistance for house repairs or new construction, as required, must be disbursed promptly. Sai asked the Collector and Revenue Department officials to quickly assess crop losses, livestock deaths, and other damages caused by the floods and extend assistance to the affected accordingly.

CM Sai also inspected a flood-damaged bridge, reviewing the traffic situation and the status of reconstruction work. He instructed officials to ensure early restoration of basic amenities like roads, electricity, and drinking water in the affected villages. Stressing accountability, he made it clear that no negligence in relief and rehabilitation work would be tolerated. “Natural disasters like floods do bring hardship, but with administrative promptness and public cooperation, these challenges can be addressed in time,” the Chief Minister said. He further directed officials to ensure special care for children, women, and the elderly in relief camps and affected villages, and to give priority to health and education facilities.

CM Reviews Health Camp Arrangements

The Chief Minister also inspected the health camp set up at the site. He interacted with the medical team regarding the availability of medicines, deployment of doctors, and delivery of primary health services to patients. Speaking directly with affected families, he asked whether they were satisfied with the administration’s support. Sai gathered detailed information from officials about health check-ups, treatment of the sick, and the availability of essential medicines. He instructed that regular healthcare services be continued in the camps until normalcy is restored. He also directed officials to maintain constant vigilance against possible outbreaks of diarrhea and other waterborne seasonal diseases after the floods, and to ensure compulsory chlorination of all drinking water sources.

The Chief Minister urged the general public to consume only clean drinking water and to maintain hygiene and sanitation. He also instructed Urban Administration Department officials to ensure regular cleanliness in the affected wards.
