Raipur, August 3, 2025: The construction of Chhattisgarh’s new Vidhan Sabha building in Nava Raipur is swiftly reaching its final phase. On Saturday, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, and Deputy CM and PWD Minister Arun Sao visited the site to review progress and directed officials to ensure timely completion by September 2025. The goal is to dedicate the new complex to the public during the state’s Rajyotsav celebrations on November 1.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai emphasized that 2025 marks the silver jubilee (Rajat Jayanti) of Chhattisgarh’s formation and will be celebrated with great enthusiasm. “This iconic Vidhan Sabha building is nearing completion and will be a historic gift to the people of Chhattisgarh during the Rajat Jayanti year,” he said. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to inaugurate the building during the Rajyotsav celebrations.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said the project has entered its final stage. “Today, we reviewed key components including the Speaker's chamber, CM’s office, and the entire premises. The inauguration will take place as scheduled,” he affirmed.

The new Vidhan Sabha building beautifully blends Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage and traditional architectural elements with cutting-edge facilities. The structure features three main wings — Wing A will house the Assembly Secretariat; Wing B will accommodate the offices of the CM, Speaker, the main Assembly hall and Central Hall; Wing C will be dedicated to the Deputy CMs and other ministers.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao remarked, “This is not just a government structure — it’s a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s cultural grandeur and architectural legacy.”

Spread across 52 acres, the new complex is designed with advanced technical features and aesthetic elegance. The Assembly hall will seat 200 legislators and will include an ultra-modern auditorium with a 500-person spectator capacity. The complex will also include parking for 700 vehicles and two proposed lakes, each spread across 1.5 acres. Once completed, the building is expected to set a national benchmark for its unique architecture and integrated facilities.

Raipur, August 3, 2025/On the sacred occasion of Sawan, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the grand Kanwar Yatra held in the Gudhiyari area of Raipur. As thousands of devotees carried holy water in decorated Kanwars, the Chief Minister joined them and performed Rudrabhishek of Lord Bholenath, offering prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and welfare of the people of Chhattisgarh.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai said, “Today, a sea of devotees marched from Maruti Mangalam Bhavan, Gudhiyari to the Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple for Jalabhishek. This event keeps alive the glorious cultural traditions of Chhattisgarh and reflects the depth of our folk beliefs.” He added that the Kanwar Yatra, observed during the holy month of Sawan, is a symbol of deep devotion and surrender to Lord Shiva. Devotees undertake arduous foot journeys spanning several kilometres to offer sacred water to the deity.

The CM also underlined the spiritual importance of Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple located at Mahadev Ghat in Raipur. “This temple holds deep religious and cultural value. Every year, thousands of devotees gather here for Jalabhishek. The land of Chhattisgarh is a beautiful confluence of devotion, faith, and culture. Events like the Kanwar Yatra not only preserve tradition but also spread the message of spiritual awareness and social harmony,” he said.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh today flagged off the much-awaited Raipur-Jabalpur Express train from Raipur Railway Station, marking a new chapter in inter-state connectivity. The grand launch was attended virtually by Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Mansukh Mandaviya, as well as Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, from the main event held in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Simultaneously, the Rewa-Pune (Hadapsar) Express and Bhavnagar Terminus–Ayodhya Express were also inaugurated from their respective locations.

CM Sai hailed the occasion as a milestone in India’s rail expansion, stating, “Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and the efforts of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, three new train services are being launched today, with Chhattisgarh receiving the invaluable gift of the Raipur-Jabalpur Express.” Expressing gratitude on behalf of Chhattisgarh’s 30 million citizens, he highlighted that the state’s railway budget has seen a 21-fold increase over the last decade, with ₹6,900 crore allocated this year alone.

“Rail projects worth over ₹47,000 crore are currently operational in Chhattisgarh, which will elevate the region’s rail infrastructure and passenger services to new heights,” CM Sai noted. He also emphasized the redevelopment of 32 stations under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ at a cost of ₹680 crore.

CM Shri Sai particularly thanked PM Modi for prioritizing development in the conflict-affected Bastar region by sanctioning vital projects like the Raoghat-Jagdalpur railway line. He added that this new Raipur-Jabalpur service will enhance connectivity for tourism, education, and trade, linking key religious and tourist hubs such as Dongargarh and Bhedaghat.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh called the launch “historic,” stating, “This rail link will significantly improve connectivity between Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.” He highlighted that the train will cover the 410-km Raipur–Jabalpur distance in just 8 hours, enabling easier travel to Gondia, Balaghat, and Jabalpur. He further noted that 32 stations, including major hubs like Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg, are being redeveloped to enhance passenger amenities.

Dignitaries present included MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Motilal Sahu and Purandar Mishra, South East Central Railway GM Tarun Prakash, and DRM Raipur Dayanand, along with a large gathering of citizens.

The new express train service strategically connects Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, offering passengers a fast, convenient alternative. Railway officials shared the schedule: Train No. 11701 will depart Raipur at 2:45 PM and reach Jabalpur at 10:45 PM. On the return, Train No. 11702 will leave Jabalpur at 6:00 AM and arrive in Raipur by 1:50 PM.

The train comprises 15 coaches: 1 AC Chair Car, 4 Chair Cars, 8 General Coaches, 1 Power Car, and 1 SLRD coach. It is expected to serve traders, students, tourists, and daily commuters effectively.

The route covers culturally and ecologically rich cities like Raipur, Dongargarh, Balaghat, Nainpur, and Jabalpur. With easier access to attractions like Nandanvan Zoological Park, Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Kanha National Park, Bhedaghat, and Dhuandhar Falls, the new service promises to boost regional tourism.

South East Central Railway’s latest initiative underscores its commitment to making train travel more accessible, secure, and convenient. The new link is set to strengthen regional ties and stimulate local economies across three states.

Raipur 2 August 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today felicitated aspirational districts and development blocks that excelled in achieving the defined goals of the Sampoornata Abhiyan. The awards were presented at a function held in the New Circuit House premises in Raipur for districts and blocks that achieved saturation in the selected indicators during the three-month-long campaign conducted across Chhattisgarh’s aspirational districts and blocks from July to September 2024.

During the event, the Chief Minister honoured officials and staff from various departments who contributed significantly to this achievement. Bastar and Kondagaon districts, along with aspirational development blocks Shankargarh, Mainpur, Makri, Koylibeda, Orchha and Pratappur, were awarded gold medals for achieving full saturation across all six identified indicators under the campaign. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Sao and Shri Vijay Sharma, Member of Parliament Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, and MLAs Shri Sunil Soni, Shri Motilal Sahu, and Guru Khushwant Saheb.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) embodies inclusive growth for every section of society. He emphasised that the people living in remote areas and members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) need development the most. Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, he noted that the Central Government, understanding the gravity of the situation, has launched this initiative to bring essential services like housing, drinking water, electricity, roads, and other basic infrastructure to remote tribal areas.

He also highlighted that programmes like the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, which includes 6,661 villages of Chhattisgarh, are lighting up the path of progress in far-flung villages, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s far-sighted vision. The Chief Minister said that villages falling under the ambit of aspirational districts and blocks are now advancing at a rapid pace in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, while addressing the programme, said that work on aspirational districts began in 2018 with a mission to bring backward districts and blocks to the forefront of development. He informed that various sectors are being addressed in these areas to improve human development indicators and bring them up to the saturation level. Expressing hope, he said that the journey towards a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India will be achieved through the development and welfare of every individual.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma remarked that the work being done in aspirational districts and blocks is focused not just on physical progress, but also on enhancing human development indicators. He stated that efforts are underway to identify key indicators and work towards their saturation, especially those which generally receive less attention. Extending his best wishes, he expressed hope that the districts and blocks under the programme continue to perform even better.

Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain and Secretary of Planning, Economics, and Statistics Department Shri Ankit Anand provided a detailed overview of the work done and achievements recorded during the Sampoornata Abhiyan. Member Secretary of NITI Aayog Shri Ashish Bhatt, Member Shri K. Subramaniam, and Director of Planning, Economics, and Statistics Department Smt. Roktima Yadav were also present during the event.

Under the campaign, six indicators were selected out of the 49 indicators for aspirational districts and 40 for aspirational blocks. These included ANC registration, number of pregnant women receiving supplementary nutrition, issuance of soil health cards, number of fully immunized children, electrification of schools, distribution of textbooks within one month of the start of the academic session, diabetes screening, hypertension screening, and number of self-help groups that received revolving funds.

Aspirational districts and blocks that achieved full saturation on all six indicators were awarded gold medals. Those that achieved full saturation in five indicators were given silver medals, those with four indicators received bronze medals, and those with three indicators were awarded copper medals.

Among the aspirational districts, Bastar and Kondagaon achieved full saturation in all six indicators and were awarded gold medals. Among aspirational blocks, Shankargarh, Mainpur, Makri, Koylibeda, Orchha, and Pratappur also secured gold medals.

Dantewada, Korba, Kanker, and Narayanpur districts, along with aspirational blocks Lakhnapur, Baikunthpur, Durgkondul, Gaurela-2, Korba, and Pithora, were awarded silver medals. Aspirational district Bijapur and aspirational blocks Gariaband, Usoor, Podi Uproda, Bodla, Tokapal, and Kuaankonda received bronze medals. Copper medals were awarded to aspirational districts Manpur–Mohla–Ambagarh Chowki, Mahasamund, and Sukma, and to aspirational block Ambagarh Chowki.

The awards were received by the current and former collectors of the respective districts.

In the auspicious month of Sawan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred ₹20,500 crore as the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi directly to the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across the country via DBT from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined the nationwide event virtually from the auditorium of Horticulture and Forestry University in Raipur, interacting with the state’s farmers.

Addressing the massive gathering of farmers, Prime Minister Modi said that since the launch of PM Kisan in 2019, ₹3.75 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers' accounts across the country. He reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to farmer prosperity and cited the PM-Kisan initiative as a shining example.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the recently launched Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Yojana aimed at boosting agriculture in backward districts, with an allocation of ₹24,000 crore. He highlighted substantial investment in irrigation schemes to ensure water access to farms and boost productivity. He further emphasized that schemes like PM Fasal Bima Yojana are effectively providing relief during natural calamities. Focusing on women’s economic empowerment, he shared that over 1.5 crore women have already become "Lakhpati Didis," and the government is halfway to its goal of reaching 3 crore.

Extending greetings to the people of Chhattisgarh on the holy month of Shravan, CM Vishnu Deo Sai offered prayers to Lord Mahadev for the state's continued prosperity. He informed that over 25 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh have received ₹553.34 crore under the 20th installment of the PM Kisan scheme.

Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, CM Sai said, “Providing financial support to our food providers is a true recognition of their hard work.”

He affirmed that his government is committed to farmer welfare in line with "Modi ki Guarantee". Recalling fulfilled promises, he stated that Chhattisgarh farmers are being paid ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy, significantly boosting their income. Within just 10 days of forming the government, ₹3,716 crore worth of pending two-year bonuses were disbursed to farmers, reinforcing trust.

CM Sai also paid tribute to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee for launching the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, which transformed farming into a profitable venture. “Earlier, farmers had to borrow at high interest rates, but today, they can avail zero-interest loans under KCC, making farming easier,” he added.

Highlighting ongoing efforts to expand irrigation, he stated that “Bastar is now free from the grip of Naxalism,” and the state government is working on transformative projects like the Bodhghat Project and linking Mahanadi and Indravati rivers to turn Bastar into an irrigated and prosperous region.

He informed that ₹10,000 financial assistance is being given to encourage cultivation of pulses and oilseeds, along with support for landless agricultural labourers.

CM Sai stressed the importance of allied agricultural activities like fisheries, dairy, and animal husbandry. The Dudharu Pashu Vitaran Yojana (Milch Animal Distribution Scheme) has been launched in six districts as a pilot project in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), aiming to increase milk production and ensure fair prices for farmers.

He said the state is also promoting nutri-cereals (millets) such as Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi, traditional crops that are being encouraged to help farmers earn better returns in the market.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu stated that under PM Modi’s leadership, financial assistance is regularly transferred to farmers through this scheme. He praised the rapid construction of concrete roads in villages and access to interest-free short-term loans through KCC.

Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ramvichar Netam said ₹553.34 crore has been disbursed to over 25.47 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh as the 20th installment. He emphasized that the Vishnu Deo Sai government envisions a future driven by “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan” and is integrating modern equipment and technologies into farming. He informed that under the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, over 1 lakh farmers were directly engaged by scientists, officials, and field workers to educate them on advanced techniques and their benefits.

On this occasion, beneficiaries were handed over cheques for grants under various agricultural equipment and welfare schemes.

Joining the nation in celebrating the 79th Independence Day, Chhattisgarh will observe the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from August 2 to 15, 2025. The programme will be held in three distinct phases and aims to encourage citizens across the state to hoist the National Flag at their homes, fostering a deeper sense of patriotism and respect for the tricolour.

This year, the campaign revolves around the theme ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata: Celebrating Freedom with Cleanliness’, reflecting a combined commitment to national pride, hygiene, and water conservation.

During the campaign, the Tricolour will be prominently displayed at all government buildings, institutions, and residential premises. Buildings will be illuminated, rangolis will be drawn, and selfie zones will be established. To ensure mass awareness, the campaign will be widely publicised through pamphlets, banners, and standees in local languages.

The initiative promotes citizen unity and collective celebration, integrating the ideals of cleanliness and water conservation alongside the spirit of freedom.

In Phase 1 (August 2–8), schools and public spaces will be adorned with creative Tiranga art. Activities will include rangoli competitions, quizzes on local history of the flag, Tiranga-themed rakhi-making workshops and contests, and live demonstrations of flag-weaving using tri-colour threads in public areas. Schools will also host letter-writing competitions inspired by the values and sentiments associated with the National Flag.

Phase 2 (August 9–12) will see Tiranga fairs and Tiranga concerts at public venues, powered by community participation. These events will feature the involvement of elected representatives, local talents, and sportspersons. Cultural programmes celebrating patriotism will be staged during the concerts. Additionally, flag rallies, bike rallies, and cycle rallies will be organized across the state.

In Phase 3 (August 13–15), the National Flag will be hoisted on all government buildings, educational institutions, hotels, offices, dams, and bridges. These locations will also be illuminated as part of the celebration. The final phase will also include special activities focusing on cleanliness and water conservation.

The campaign mandates active participation of employees and families associated with public enterprises, self-help groups, and social organisations across all districts. Corporate and private entities are also being encouraged to contribute to the campaign, including via CSR resources.

The Department of Culture has issued detailed guidelines to all district collectors. As per these, citizens will be motivated to actively engage with the campaign through state government websites and social media platforms. New Delhi, August 1, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C.R. Patil in New Delhi today and held a courtesy meeting. During the discussion, the two leaders focused on key water infrastructure projects of the state, especially the much-anticipated Bodhghat multipurpose project in the Bastar region.

CM Shri Sai informed Union Minister Shri Patil that the Bodhghat project is of critical importance for irrigation, drinking water supply, and power generation in Bastar.

He highlighted that Bastar has remained on the margins of mainstream development for decades, and the topmost priority of the present state government is to liberate the region from the grip of Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) and empower it economically and socially. The proposed Bodhghat multipurpose project, he said, will enable irrigation of nearly 8 lakh hectares of land and generate 125 megawatts of electricity.

During the meeting, CM Shri Sai further emphasized that the influence of Maoism has significantly reduced in Bastar, and a favorable environment for development is emerging. He stressed that large-scale projects like Bodhghat can play a vital role in transforming the region into a financially robust and socially empowered zone. He urged the Union Minister to consider declaring Bodhghat as a national project and initiate all necessary steps in this regard.

Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C.R. Patil appreciated the proactive approach of the Chhattisgarh government and assured that the proposals related to the project will undergo swift technical evaluation.

CM Shri Sai expressed confidence that with the active support of the Central Government, the Bodhghat project will soon take shape and emerge as a cornerstone of Bastar’s economic growth and social transformation.

New Delhi, August 1, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah today at the Parliament House and held discussions on a wide range of issues, including the state’s holistic development, anti-Maoist strategy, and upcoming key events.

During the meeting, CM Shri Sai briefed Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah on the achievements of the state’s anti-Maoist operations and future roadmap. He highlighted that the state has witnessed remarkable success in the crackdown against Maoist activities over the past one and a half years. Since December 2023, a total of 445 Maoists have been neutralized in 33 major encounters, 1,554 arrested, and 1,588 Maoists have surrendered.

Chief Minister Shri Sai underlined that under the state’s Integrated Development and Security policy, the government is aiming for complete eradication of Maoist influence. He informed that major efforts are underway to expand roads, education, and healthcare services in affected areas, leading to not only a decline in Maoist dominance but also a renewed sense of trust among local communities towards the administration.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah appreciated the Chhattisgarh government’s intensified efforts to eliminate Maoism and described the achievements as historic. He assured full support from the Central Government in all future endeavours towards restoring peace and development in the region.

The leaders also discussed preparations for the Amrit Rajat Mahotsav 2025, which will mark 25 years since the formation of Chhattisgarh. New Delhi, August 1, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today at the Parliament House in New Delhi. During the meeting, CM Sai extended a formal invitation to PM Modi to attend the Amrit Rajat Mahotsav as the Chief Guest, scheduled to be held on November 1, 2025, in Raipur. He also apprised the Prime Minister of the state government’s key development priorities, upcoming schemes, and citizen-centric welfare initiatives.

Marking 25 years since the formation of the state, Chhattisgarh is celebrating the milestone as its Amrit Rajat Jayanti Year. CM Sai emphasized that this event holds historical significance for the state, and the presence of the Prime Minister would further elevate its importance.

CM Sai noted that under the leadership and guidance of PM Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh is progressing rapidly on the path of development. He informed the Prime Minister about the state’s visionary policy document ‘Anjor Vision @2047’, which outlines the roadmap for inclusive and sustainable development in alignment with the goals of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). The document focuses on progressive reforms and innovation-driven initiatives across education, health, agriculture, industry, innovation, and environment sectors.

The Chief Minister also informed PM Modi that inspired by the Central Government’s Jan Vishwas Act 2023, the state government has enacted the Jan Vishwas Bill 2025, aimed at improving transparency in the justice system and ensuring easier access to justice for the common citizen.

CM Sai also shared details about the establishment of the Chhattisgarh State Capital Region Development Authority (SCRDA), formed to ensure the planned and rapid development of Nava Raipur. He said the authority is transforming the capital region into a modern, smart, and fast-growing urban center.

Highlighting industrial growth, CM Sai briefed the Prime Minister about the encouraging progress in investment and employment generation in the state. He said that the New Industrial Policy 2024–30, implemented in 2024, has significantly boosted investor interest. A Single Window System has been introduced to streamline industrial setup, making processes simpler and more transparent. Industries providing employment to over 1,000 people are being offered special incentives.

CM Sai further informed that between November 2024 and July 2025, the state received investment proposals worth ₹6.65 lakh crore from 84 companies. He noted that India’s first Semiconductor Unit has been launched in Nava Raipur, and construction of an AI Data Center is also underway. Moreover, sectors like textiles, pharmaceuticals, ready-made garments, and IT services are being prioritized to position Chhattisgarh as a technological and industrial hub.

Speaking on education reforms, CM Sai said that the state government is committed to ensuring quality education in rural and remote areas through the rationalization of schools and teachers. In tribal regions, efforts are being made to integrate digital tools and trained educators to enhance learning through technology.

The Chief Minister also shared that the state government is working swiftly on two ambitious projects — Medicity and Edu City. The Medicity being developed in Raipur will be a state-of-the-art medical hub, creating large-scale employment opportunities and enhancing Chhattisgarh’s standing in the healthcare sector.

On the issue of Naxalism, CM Sai highlighted the state’s ongoing rehabilitation and trust-building efforts. He said that due to the government’s sensitive and visionary approach, a significant number of Naxalites have surrendered and are returning to mainstream life. Basic infrastructure like education, healthcare, communication, and roads is being rapidly expanded in these regions, which is strengthening public trust in governance and fostering aspirations for development and inclusion.

New Delhi, July 31, 2025:

In a significant step towards boosting sports and healthcare education in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, it was agreed that the Bastar Olympics will now be organised as “Khelo India Tribal Games” starting this year. This move is expected to not only bring national-level recognition to the talents of tribal youth but also place Chhattisgarh’s rich traditional sports culture on the global map.

CM Sai also proposed the establishment of 220-bed medical and nursing colleges in Raipur and Bilaspur, aimed at enhancing the quality of health education and expanding access to better medical facilities across the state. In response, Union Minister Mandaviya assured that the central government would soon take a positive decision and initiate the process for granting approval.

The Chief Minister further requested the establishment of a regional centre of the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Chhattisgarh, along with the development of new stadiums and training centres to strengthen the state's sports infrastructure. Minister Mandaviya assured that approvals for these demands would also be expedited.

The meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary to CM, Shri Subodh Singh and Secretary to CM Shri Rahul Bhagat.

Government Conducts Survey, Allocates ₹26.24 Crore for Heritage Conservation in Chhattisgarh

Raipur 31 July 2025/ The Government of India has allocated a total of ₹26.24 crore over the last five years for the identification, conservation and maintenance of monuments, forts and heritage structures in Chhattisgarh, according to a statement made in the Rajya Sabha today by the Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

In a written reply to a question raised by Member of Parliament Smt. Phulo Devi Netam, the Minister informed that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has conducted a comprehensive village-to-village survey covering 764 villages in Chhattisgarh between 2014-15 and 2024-25. Out of these, 73 villages were found to have antiquarian remains, underscoring the rich cultural legacy of the State.

The Minister further stated that the Central Government allocated ₹2.89 crore in 2020-21, ₹4.78 crore in 2021-22, ₹7.50 crore in 2022-23, ₹5.94 crore in 2023-24 and ₹5.13 crore in 2024-25 for the conservation and maintenance of centrally protected monuments and sites in Chhattisgarh. The expenditure has matched the allocated amounts each year, indicating full utilization of funds for heritage conservation works.

₹7,000-Crore Road Projects in Chhattisgarh to Get Financial Nod Soon

New Delhi, July 31, 2025:

An important step was taken today to accelerate infrastructure development in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, during which several key road projects in the state received a green signal.

During the meeting, the Union Minister directed officials to expedite financial approvals for projects worth over ₹7,000 crore currently planned in Chhattisgarh.

Additionally, an approval of ₹600 crore was sanctioned under the Central Road Fund (CRF), paving the way for the construction and upgradation of several roads in the state.

To decongest traffic in Raipur, four major bridges will be constructed, with their foundation stones to be laid soon. Moreover, roads connecting the capital city to other districts will be widened from two lanes to four, ensuring faster and safer travel.

It was also decided during the meeting that Chhattisgarh's road planning will now leverage the Centre's Gati Shakti portal, enabling faster project clearances. Shri Nitin Gadkari instructed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a 95-km six-lane road connecting Raipur–Arang–Bilaspur–Darri be prepared swiftly. This road will link industrial, agricultural, and educational zones. In addition, the Samriddhi Expressway will be extended up to Raipur.

Several other crucial projects also received approval during the meeting. These include upgradation work on National Highway No. 130A, raising work on National Highway No. 43, and strengthening work on National Highway No. 30, totalling ₹115.95 crore. Among these, a 15-km road within Bilaspur city will ease urban traffic, while an 11-km stretch of the Katni-Gumla route will help connect rural areas. Furthermore, a 4-km section in Keshkal will be strengthened, bringing much-needed relief to residents in hilly regions.

CM Sai remarked, “Roads are not just a means of travel; they are pathways to development, employment, and social transformation.” Under the ‘Anjor Vision 2047’, the Chhattisgarh government aims to ensure that every village and citizen has access to better and environmentally friendly transportation.

Principal Secretary to the CM, Subodh Singh, and Secretary of Public Works Department, Dr Kamalpreet Singh, were also present during the meeting.

Raipur, July 30, 2025/ In a major milestone for Chhattisgarh’s agriculture sector, the state is set to get a regional office of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in Raipur. The development follows the proactive efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the state’s Department of Industries, with the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry approving the proposal.

With this regional office, farmers, producers, and exporters in Chhattisgarh will now have access to a wide range of export-related services under one roof. No longer will they have to depend on offices in other states for training, certification, packaging, standardisation, or export-related procedures.

Global-quality services now at local level

The APEDA office in Raipur will streamline procedures such as phytosanitary certification, quality certification, lab testing, and export documentation—saving time and reducing costs for stakeholders.

Branding boost and global visibility for Chhattisgarh products

The regional office will ease direct exports of fruits, vegetables, rice, GI-tagged products, millets, and other agri commodities to international markets. This will ensure better prices for producers, new market access for traders, and global recognition for the state’s diverse agri-produce.

Doubling farmer income through knowledge and better prices

With access to global markets, Chhattisgarh’s farmers will command higher returns for their produce. They will also receive training and insights into modern techniques, quality control, advanced packaging, and global marketing—right at the local level.

Push for export infrastructure

Apart from certification and brand promotion, APEDA also supports infrastructure creation and maintenance. This includes food processing units, cold storages, and pack houses—giving a major boost to the state’s agri-business ecosystem.

Access to special schemes and subsidies

Raipur, July 30, 2025: In a major push to boost cricket infrastructure and nurture emerging talent in the state, the Chhattisgarh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has approved the allotment of 7.96 acres of land in Nava Raipur’s Sector-3 (Village Parsada) to the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association for establishing a state-of-the-art cricket academy.

As per government spending rules, direct land allotment to non-profit organisations is generally not permitted. However, in this special case, the government has decided to relax the norms, paving the way for the academy’s establishment in the larger interest of budding cricketers in the state.

Notably, the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association has been a full-time member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) since 2016. The Nava Raipur Development Authority has earmarked a total of 7.96 acres for this purpose.

Chhattisgarh is seen as a land of immense cricketing potential, with several players already making a mark at the national level. While the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Nava Raipur currently hosts matches, there has long been a felt need for a dedicated academy offering international-standard training facilities.

The establishment of this cricket academy will not only provide top-tier coaching and infrastructure to talented youth but will also strengthen Chhattisgarh’s position on the national and international cricket map. The state government’s move is expected to open new doors of opportunity for aspiring cricketers and carve out a strong identity for Chhattisgarh in the sporting world.

Cabinet Decisions

 30 July 2025

 At the Cabinet Meeting held today, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, in Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan), following important decisions were taken:

1. Cabinet has approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh District Mineral Foundation Trust Rules, 2015 in accordance with the new guidelines issued by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and the revised guidelines under *Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY)-2024

Under the revised framework, a minimum of 70% of the funds available with the Trust shall be mandatorily utilised for high-priority sectors such as drinking water supply, environmental conservation, pollution control, health, education, agriculture, welfare of women and children, welfare of the elderly and differently-abled persons, as well as skill development and employment, sanitation, housing, and holistic development of animal husbandry.

2. In a major move to ensure effective regulation and transparency in sand mining and transportation, the Cabinet has repealed *Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral (Sand Mining and Trade) Rules, 2019* and *Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral (Sand Mining and Trade in Scheduled Areas) Rules, 2023*.

A new set of rules titled *Chhattisgarh Minor Mineral (Sand Mining and Trade) Rules, 2025* has been approved. These rules aim to curb illegal sand mining and transportation through strict measures and ensure that sand is made available to the general public at fair prices. The new rules also mandate strict adherence to environmental and safety standards.

Allotment of sand mines will now be done through electronic auctions, which is expected to bring in greater transparency and lead to increased revenue generation for the state.

3. The Cabinet has approved a proposal from the Department of Commercial Tax (Registration) regarding the determination of market value of agricultural land. As per the approved changes, the existing provision of evaluating rural agricultural plots up to 500 square metres separately will be abolished. Instead, valuation will be carried out uniformly based on hectare rates for the entire landholding.

This move aims to prevent irregularities such as those witnessed in the Bharatmala Project and the Arpa-Bhaisajhar region of Bilaspur. Additionally, the provision of evaluating converted rural land at 2.5 times the value of irrigated land has been scrapped. For villages adjacent to urban limits and for lands situated in designated investment zones, market rates will now be fixed on a per square metre basis.

4. The Cabinet has approved the allotment of 7.96 acres of land to the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association (CSCS) in Sector-3, Village Parsada, Nava Raipur (Atal Nagar), for establishing a state-of-the-art Cricket Academy.

This modern cricket facility in Nava Raipur will offer international-level infrastructure and training opportunities to nurture the skills and talents of emerging sportspersons from the state.

Chhattisgarh holds immense potential in the field of cricket, with many young players having already achieved national and international recognition. The establishment of this academy is expected to provide a major boost to the aspirations of budding cricketers in the state while elevating Chhattisgarh’s profile in the national and international cricketing arena.

Chhattisgarh has once again made a powerful mark in the national cleanliness rankings under the Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 conducted by the Government of India. Demonstrating remarkable performance, 115 out of 169 participating urban local bodies (ULBs) from the state have improved their ranks in the latest assessment. Among the 4,566 cities surveyed nationwide, 25 cities from Chhattisgarh secured a place in the top 100 — a significant leap from the previous year’s 16 cities.

A total of 62 ULBs in the state have improved their Garbage-Free City Star Ratings, while the number of cities achieving single, three, and five-star status has jumped from 71 to 114. Capital city Raipur has upgraded from a five-star to a prestigious seven-star rating in the Garbage-Free City category. Additionally, Raipur has also been certified as a Water Plus city for its holistic cleanliness initiatives.

This year, three major municipal corporations — Bilaspur, Korba, and Bhilai Nagar — have moved from ODF++ to the Water Plus category. A total of 163 urban local bodies in the state have achieved ODF++ status, including municipalities like Kirandul and Bhatapara, and the municipal council of Kunra, which were earlier only in the ODF category. Sitapur Municipal Council too has progressed from ODF Plus to ODF Plus Plus.

Over the past 18 months, 62 ULBs have improved their Star Ratings in the Garbage-Free City category through consistent efforts. Notably, Bilaspur and Ambikapur have elevated their three-star ratings to five-star, while Bhilai Nagar, Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation, Jamul Municipality, and Gharghoda Municipal Council, which earlier had single-star status in 2023-24, have now achieved three-star ratings. Cities like Dhamtari, Shivrinarayan, and Rajpur — which had no star rating in the previous survey — have directly entered the three-star category. Additionally, 52 ULBs that were previously rated ‘No Star’ have now earned single-star status owing to focused efforts in sanitation and beautification.

Several cities in Chhattisgarh have seen major improvements in their national rankings. Simga, which ranked 649 in 2023-24, has climbed to 95th place this year. Similarly, Jashpur has improved from 637 to 91, Rajpur from 630 to 63, and Gharghoda from 616 to 71. Bhilai-Charoda jumped from 587 to 68, Dornapal from 557 to 81, Dantewada from 552 to 70, Jagdalpur from 461 to 55, Mungeli from 447 to 86, Kawardha from 430 to 77, Kunkuri from 426 to 84, Durg from 314 to 80, Rajnandgaon from 268 to 46, Bhilai Nagar from 267 to an impressive 22. Meanwhile, Chhura rose from 230 to 76, Pratappur from 173 to 62, Balrampur from 65 to 53, and Raipur advanced from 12th rank to 4th place nationally.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described the achievements of Chhattisgarh's cities as the result of a collective effort by local bodies and citizens. He said that the urban local governments, the state government, and the central government are all working together with innovative approaches to make cities cleaner and more beautiful. He expressed confidence that rankings of Chhattisgarh’s cities will continue to improve and that this national success will further motivate all ULBs.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Urban Administration & Development Shri Arun Sao appreciated the exceptional performance of ULBs in the survey. He said that for the financial year 2024–25, the state government had allocated ₹7,400 crore for urban development and sanitation, the positive results of which are now visible. He shared that the department had directed all municipal commissioners, as well as chief municipal officers of councils and panchayats, to carry out daily morning inspection rounds to supervise cleanliness activities. Shri Sao emphasized that these two initiatives played a key role in achieving these milestones.
