Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended a warm invitation to steel entrepreneurs from across the country to establish production units in the state. Participating in the Green Steel and Mining Summit held at a prominent local hotel, CM Sai highlighted the immense potential for the steel industry in Chhattisgarh and the infrastructure developed to support it. The summit was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) for its eastern region members.

Addressing industrialists at the event, the Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh’s new Industrial Policy gives special focus to the steel sector. He added that entrepreneurs engaged in green steel production will receive dedicated grants under this policy.

The Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an ambitious target to make India a global steel hub. Under his leadership, steel production in the country has surged from 100 million tonnes to 200 million tonnes, with a new goal of reaching 300 million tonnes by 2030. In line with this national vision, Chhattisgarh has set a target to increase its current steel production capacity from 28 million tonnes to 45 million tonnes, with all necessary groundwork completed.

Chhattisgarh: A State Rich in Minerals and Full of Industrial Possibilities

Highlighting the state’s natural strengths, CM Sai said that Chhattisgarh is rich in mineral resources, which opens vast industrial opportunities when harnessed correctly. He emphasized that this growth will not only strengthen the state’s economy but also create employment at the grassroots level. The state government is fully committed to generating maximum employment through the manufacturing sector. With support from Central employment incentive schemes and state-level subsidies for local employment, this vision is becoming a reality.

Manufacturing Gets Top Priority in ‘Anjor Vision’ Document

The Chief Minister informed the gathering that a comprehensive development roadmap titled “Anjor Vision” has been prepared to align with the national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047. This document outlines a phased development strategy with manufacturing identified as the core focus area—especially steel and power, the backbone industries of Chhattisgarh.

All Infrastructure Prepared to Meet the Vision Targets

He assured that all infrastructural preparations necessary to meet these targets have been completed. The railway infrastructure in the state has been significantly enhanced, and rapid construction is underway to further strengthen the network. This includes ongoing projects worth ₹47,000 crore. New routes, such as the Raoghat to Jagdalpur railway line and the Kirandul to Kothagudem line in Telangana (138 km of which will pass through Bastar), are being developed. Additionally, a new railway corridor from Kharsia in Raigarh to Parmalkasa in Rajnandgaon will streamline the supply of raw materials and distribution of finished goods, significantly reducing production costs.

Over 350 Policy Reforms for Ease of Doing Business

Highlighting the pro-industry stance of his government, CM Sai said the new Industrial Policy includes a single-window clearance system and over 350 policy reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business. These reforms will directly benefit investors in the steel sector. He also stated that industries adopting green energy will be eligible for special grants. He appreciated the adoption of advanced technologies like hydrogen-based steel production in Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister shared that the recently held Energy Summit saw investment proposals worth approximately ₹3.5 lakh crore, including ₹57,000 crore earmarked for hydropower projects. The state is also making rapid strides in solar energy generation under the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme.

He said industrial corridors are being developed at a rapid pace, and new industrial parks are being established. The government is offering special grants to private players to set up these parks. He urged all entrepreneurs present to invest in Chhattisgarh and set up their units.

Tap into Trained Workforce and New Logistics Policy

CM Sai assured that trained manpower will not be an issue for industries, with Skill India Centres already operational across all blocks in Bastar. He also emphasized the benefits of the state's new logistics policy, which includes grants for developing dry ports and inland container depots. Being centrally located in India, Chhattisgarh has immense logistics potential. Expressways, rail networks, and national highways offer seamless connectivity in all directions, a major plus for the steel sector.

He also revealed plans to develop a large steel cluster in the State Capital Region that includes Raipur, Durg, and Bhilai.

Over 250 Industrial Representatives Participated in the Summit

More than 250 industrial representatives from five eastern states—West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh—participated in the Green Steel and Mining Summit organized by CII. They explored the industrial prospects in Chhattisgarh and held fruitful discussions. CM Sai also visited the industrial exhibition organized as part of the summit.

CM Sai launches ‘Gau Vigyan Pariksha Abhiyan 2025’

Raipur, 28 July 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today launched the ‘Gau Vigyan Pariksha Abhiyan 2025’ at his official residence, an initiative organized by the Chhattisgarh State Cow Protection and Promotion Committee. On this occasion, he unveiled the campaign poster and extended his best wishes and greetings to the members of the committee for undertaking this noble cause.

CM Sai stated that gau seva (cow service) is the soul of Indian culture, which not only offers spiritual benefits but also plays a vital role in environmental conservation. He added that this year, the committee is emphasizing both cow service and the development of kitchen gardens in every household—an admirable step towards public health and self-reliance.

On this occasion, the Committee’s State President, Shri Subodh Rathi, briefed the Chief Minister on the campaign's structure. He informed that the Gau Vigyan Pariksha will be conducted across the state on 4 November 2025. The objective of the examination is to raise public awareness about the importance of indigenous cattle, their role in the ecological system, contribution towards mitigating global warming, and the scientific relevance of Panchagavya.

Shri Rathi mentioned that the exam will be conducted in three categories—secondary, higher secondary, and college level. At the state level, participants securing the first position in each category will receive a cash prize of ₹51,000, second position ₹31,000, and third ₹21,000 along with a kit of cow-based products. Similarly, at the district level, winners will be awarded ₹3,100, ₹2,100, and ₹1,100 respectively, along with cow product kits.

All participants in the examination will receive a Gau Vigyan Granth (cow science book) and a certificate of participation. Interested students can register for the exam through the principal of their institution or the designated Gau Vigyan coordinator.

It is noteworthy that over one lakh students participated in the examination last year. This year, the committee has set a target to exceed that number. Present on the occasion were State Convenor Shri Anna Safare, Deputy State Head Shri Manoj Pandey, Gau Granth Editor Dr. Amit Pandey, and other members of the committee.

Raipur, July 28, 2025/ Devotion and divine fervour reached a crescendo on the third Monday of Sawan as Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai performed a helicopter flower shower over thousands of Kanwariyas and Shiv devotees at the ancient and culturally rich Baba Bhoramdeo Temple, a revered religious and archaeological site of the state.

Joining the grand spiritual celebration were Speaker Dr Raman Singh, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Vijay Sharma and Shri Arun Sao.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Chief Minister personally conducted a flower shower to welcome the devotees. Following the aerial floral tribute, CM Sai visited the Bhoramdeo temple with Dr Singh, Shri Sharma and Shri Sao, and performed special Vedic rituals, prayers, and Rudrabhishek, praying for peace, prosperity and well-being across the state.

Interacting warmly with the Kanwariyas and pilgrims present in the temple complex, CM Sai enquired about their well-being and expressed heartfelt appreciation.

He said, “To be here on the holy land of Baba Bhoramdeo on the third Monday of Sawan and to be one with the Shiv bhakts is a matter of immense pride and good fortune for me. Thousands of devotees have walked hundreds of kilometres to seek the blessings of Lord Bholenath — a living testimony to our faith, traditions, and cultural heritage.”

On this occasion, the CM honoured Pandariya MLA Smt. Bhavna Bohra, who walked 151 kilometres from Amarkantak to Bhoramdeo to perform the Jalabhishek, by presenting her with a saffron robe and shriphal.

CM Sai further highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0 has approved an ambitious ₹146 crore Bhoramdeo Corridor Development Project. The project will not only transform the temple premises but also connect heritage sites like Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, Ramchuwa up to the Saroda reservoir, developing a holistic spiritual-tourism corridor.

He added that to facilitate devotees travelling from Chhattisgarh to Amarkantak, the process for allocation of five acres of land in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh is currently underway, where a grand pilgrim rest facility is planned.

CM Sai extended warm Sawan wishes to all devotees, remarking that "today's flower shower from the skies has added an extraordinary divine aura to this sacred occasion."

Legacy of faith: Bhoramdeo temple overflows with devotion in the holy month of Sawan

The tradition of Jalabhishek (water offering) to Lord Shiva, the Mahadev of all gods, during the holy month of Sawan has been followed for centuries. The 11th-century Bhoramdeo Temple, located in the village of Chaura, about 18 kilometres from Kawardha, holds immense religious, historical, and archaeological importance.

During the Sawan month, thousands of devotees from Kabirdham, Mungeli, Bemetara, Khairagarh, Rajnandgaon, and even Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh, undertake arduous pilgrimages on foot to perform Jalabhishek at Baba Bhoramdeo, Budha Mahadev, and Dongariya’s ancient Jaleshwar Shivling.

Carrying sacred water from the Narmada River, these barefoot devotees dressed in saffron robes brave over 150 kilometres of rough, hilly terrain, chanting “Bol Bam” and singing devotional hymns as they reach temples like Bhoramdeo, Jaleshwar Mahadev, and Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev.

400 New BSNL Towers to Be Installed in Naxal-Affected Areas of Chhattisgarh

Raipur 27 July 2025/The Central Government is working on a plan to install 400 new BSNL towers in the Naxal-affected and remote areas of Chhattisgarh to strengthen digital communication. This information was shared by Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Telecommunications Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar in Raipur.

Dr. Sekhar said that the installation of these towers will be carried out in phases after obtaining the necessary approvals from security forces and the forest department. He stated, BSNL is currently providing high-quality 4G services across the country, and with this expansion, we are realizing the mission of delivering digital connectivity to the last village in the country.

Satisfaction Over Implementation of Schemes

Dr. Sekhar chaired a high-level review meeting held in Raipur, in which senior officials from the Department of Rural Development, Department of Posts, Department of Telecommunications, and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) participated.

During the meeting, the Minister expressed satisfaction over the fast and effective implementation of flagship schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G), and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). He said that these schemes are bringing significant changes to rural infrastructure and the housing sector.

Innovation for Women Empowerment

The Minister of State appreciated the role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and said that innovative initiatives like the ‘Pink Auto’ scheme are being implemented in Chhattisgarh to empower and make women self-reliant, under which women are being provided with ownership-based pink autos. This initiative could also become a model for other states.

He said, “SHGs are being linked with various schemes to provide them financial assistance, training, and marketing opportunities. This is helping women become self-reliant and increasing opportunities for self-employment.”

Special Initiatives in Naxal Areas

Dr. Chandrasekhar said that development work in Naxal-affected areas is being carried out in ‘mission mode’. A strategy is being adopted to deliver services door-to-door in these regions.

He stated, “Schools in these regions are being digitized, enabling students to better prepare for competitive exams like JEE and NEET. In addition, special facilities are also being provided for differently-abled students, which is a sensitive and inclusive initiative.”

Government Schemes Reaching the Last Beneficiary

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Sekhar said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government’s welfare schemes are now reaching the last citizen in the line. Rapid development and transformation are now being seen in deprived, tribal, and remote areas as well.”

He also stated that the government's objective is to strengthen digital, physical, and social infrastructure in an integrated manner to bring the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ to the ground level.

Executive committee meeting of Chhattisgarh Olympic Association held in Raipur

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the executive committee meeting of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association held at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur today. On this occasion, the annual budget for the year 2025–26 was approved. The Chief Minister also formally inaugurated the new office chamber of the Association President located within the stadium premises.

CM Sai reiterated that the state government is fully committed to the promotion of sports. He stated that the government has revived the long-pending sports felicitation ceremonies to encourage athletes across the state. He further informed that the selection process for outstanding athletes would soon be completed. The Chief Minister assured that the suggestions provided by Association members would be taken seriously, and necessary actions would be initiated.

Highlighting the state’s focus on sports development, CM Sai said that large-scale initiatives are underway to uplift sports infrastructure and talent. He announced that Olympic gold medalists from the state would be awarded ₹3 crore, silver medalists ₹2 crore, and bronze medalists ₹1 crore as prize money. In addition, he emphasized that athletes who merely participate in the Olympic Games would also be eligible for incentive rewards, for which appropriate measures would be undertaken.

The Chief Minister shared that he himself is the President of the Chhattisgarh Archery Association and has had a deep passion for archery since childhood. He said that with the support of NTPC, an archery academy is being established in Jashpur, which will greatly benefit local athletes. He also noted that Chhattisgarh is an industry-rich and mineral-abundant state, and that the government aims to leverage CSR funds to develop sports infrastructure across the state.

Addressing the gathering, Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Shri TankRam Verma said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Sai, the sports felicitation ceremonies that were discontinued for years have been revived. He informed that the list of outstanding athletes will be announced soon. Shri Verma added that Chhattisgarh has no shortage of sporting talent — what is needed is proper training and opportunities.

He further informed that under the leadership of CM Sai, the government has also announced the Chhattisgarh Yuva Ratna Puraskar, a youth award scheme that will honor exceptional performance in fields such as sports, arts, music, literature, industry, and business. He also highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Khelo India’ scheme is actively promoting sports in every district of the country. Referring to the Bastar Olympics, he stated that Prime Minister Modi appreciated the initiative in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address.

Raipur, July 27, 2025: On the third Monday of the holy month of Shravan, Baba Bhoramdeo Dham, located in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district, is all set to once again emerge as a vibrant symbol of devotion, spirituality, and Sanatan faith. On this sacred occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will arrive at the Bhoramdeo temple premises by helicopter and extend a grand welcome to the pilgrims, devotees, and Kanwariyas by showering them with flower petals in the early morning hours.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Chief Minister himself will greet the devotees with flower petals — a gesture that reflects his emotional connect with public sentiment and deep commitment to faith and tradition.

Accompanying the CM will be Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sharma and Arun Sao, who will also remain present for the auspicious event. The occasion highlights the Chhattisgarh Government’s devotion to Sanatan traditions, folk faith, and respect for devotees — a symbolic yet inspiring step towards preserving the cultural soul of the state.

It is noteworthy that Bhoramdeo Temple holds immense religious significance during the month of Shravan. Being the third Monday, the number of devotees and the intensity of their faith are expected to be at their peak. Thousands of Kanwariyas from districts including Kabirdham, Bemetara, Khairagarh, Rajnandgaon, Baloda Bazar, Mungeli, and Bilaspur are expected to converge at Bhoramdeo Dham. Raipur, July 27, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected state office bearers of the Satnami community, held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Medical College Campus, Raipur. Extending greetings and best wishes to the new office bearers, the Chief Minister said that education is the mantra for social development. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure the holistic progress of the community.

CM Sai noted that during the tenure of former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, a Jaitkham taller than the Qutub Minar was erected at Girodpuri Dham, alongside numerous development projects. He said this monumental structure has not only enhanced the pride of the community but has also brought global recognition to the Satnami tradition.

He added that under the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047, the state government has resolved to transform Chhattisgarh into a developed state within the same timeline. “With the blessings of Baba Guru Ghasidas, we are confident of fulfilling this resolution,” he said.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced a grant of ₹1 crore for the construction of a multi-purpose building for the Satnami community in Raipur. In a moment of immense pride for Chhattisgarh, the Bilha Nagar Panchayat has secured the first position in the Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 under the category of cities with population less than 20,000 across the country. This historic feat was honoured at a grand award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on July 17, 2025, where President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Bilha Nagar Panchayat.

The pride echoed even louder today as the achievement was recognised on the national platform of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ – Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in the 124th episode of his monthly radio address, lauded the innovation and hard work of the women of Bilha Nagar Panchayat in the field of cleanliness and waste management.

PM Modi stated that the women of Bilha were trained in waste management, and through their collective efforts, they transformed the face of the town. He highlighted it as a matter of pride for all of Chhattisgarh, which has embraced cleanliness not just as a government campaign but as a true community movement.

Bilha Nagar Panchayat, with a population of approximately 15,000, has 28 'Swachhata Didis' (Cleanliness Sisters) working on the ground. These women conduct door-to-door waste collection across 15 wards of the city using e-rickshaws and transport the waste to the SLRM Centre, where wet and dry waste are meticulously segregated. While compost is made from organic waste, dry waste is sold – enabling these women to become economically self-reliant.

Additionally, 10 special Swachhata Commandos have been appointed in the city who travel across Bilha using tractors and auto-tippers to maintain cleanliness and spread awareness. Through initiatives like awareness campaigns, public announcements, and direct waste collection from homes and shops, the Nagar Panchayat has encouraged citizens to segregate waste and hand it over responsibly. Periodic mass cleaning drives are also organised at muktidham (cremation grounds), ponds, gardens, and community halls.

This success is credited to the collective efforts of sanitation workers, Swachhata Didis, municipal officers and employees, and forward-thinking public representatives who have shown consistent commitment and inspection.

It is notable that there are over 2,000 urban local bodies in India with populations below 20,000. The rankings by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, were based on independent surveys assessing cleanliness through parameters like door-to-door collection, road sweeping (day and night), waste disposal, sanitation in toilets and parks, and public feedback.

The award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Bilha Nagar Panchayat President Smt. He further shared that during his recent visit to Jashpur district, he learned that all five urban bodies of the district have shown remarkable improvement in the national cleanliness rankings. In appreciation of this performance, he personally felicitated the sanitation workers and Swachhta Didis two days ago in Jashpur.

Raipur, July 27, 2025 – Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the CM’s residence in Raipur today. The meeting saw detailed discussions on rural development, coordinated implementation of Central and State government schemes, strengthening communication infrastructure in tribal regions, and the progress of development initiatives in Maoist-affected areas.

Chief Minister Shri Sai briefed the Union Minister about the state government’s efforts to bring Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s development-oriented vision to the grassroots. He shared that in the very first cabinet meeting of the new government, approval was granted for the construction of 18 lakh pucca houses, fulfilling the dream of home ownership for the state's poor families. Referring to the exhibition organized under the ‘BIHAN’ scheme, the Union Minister lauded the quality of bell metal crafts, millets, and household products made by women from SHGs (Self-Help Groups). He mentioned that many of these women are now earning between ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 per month, which marks a significant step toward financial independence in rural India.

Dr. Pemmasani also fondly recalled the traditional tribal welcome he received during his visit and shared his unforgettable experience of deeply connecting with their vibrant culture. He made special mention of his visit to the Divyang Residential School, describing his interaction with the children there as an emotional and heartfelt moment. Major crackdown on health supplier under CM’s Zero Tolerance Policy: GST department exposes ₹1 crore tax evasion in ₹48 crore worth supplies

Raipur, July 26, 2025: In line with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption and his commitment to ensure transparency in government procurement, the State GST Department conducted a major raid on M/s Shyam Surgical, a prominent surgical and medical equipment supplier based in Raigarh. The firm supplies medical goods to government hospitals not only in Chhattisgarh but also in neighbouring states like Jharkhand and Odisha.

According to initial findings from the State GST Department’s investigation, the supplier executed government supplies worth approximately ₹48 crore to the Health Department over the past 4–5 years, while the actual purchase value of the goods was merely ₹10 crore. The probe revealed that the firm inflated prices 4 to 5 times over the purchase value, reaping profits of 400 to 500 percent.

To hide these inflated profits and evade tax liabilities, the business owner floated three additional firms in the names of his family members – Rahul Enterprises, Narayani Healthcare, and P.R. Enterprises. These shell firms were used to conduct internal transactions that created a façade of genuine purchases and sales, ultimately leading to an estimated ₹1 crore in GST evasion.

Acting on clear directives from CM Sai, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary had earlier instructed officials to maintain strict vigilance over government supply contracts and swiftly identify any irregularities. It was under this mandate that the State GST Department launched its investigation and carried out the enforcement action.

Chief Minister Sai has reiterated that the state government will not tolerate any form of corruption, especially in sectors linked to public welfare and essential services like health. “Such fraudulent practices are not just economic crimes – they are a betrayal of public trust,” he stated.

The state government has issued a stern warning to all suppliers and contractors that any individual or entity found misusing the government system to earn undue profits will face the strictest possible action.

Raipur, July 26, 2025 – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has hailed the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a “new chapter in India’s journey of growth” and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai said the agreement will not only expand India’s economic horizon, but more importantly, it will offer states like Chhattisgarh – which are rooted in agriculture, handicrafts, small-scale and cottage industries – a historic opportunity to become part of global trade.

Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted that under the India-UK FTA, 99% of India’s exports to the UK will now get duty-free access. This, he said, will directly benefit farmers, MSMEs, artisans, weavers, and traditional product manufacturers. He further noted that the agreement is expected to unlock trade opportunities worth an estimated $23 billion.

Calling it a historic step, CM Sai said the FTA has brought new hope to agrarian and labour-intensive states like Chhattisgarh. Raipur, July 26, 2025: In a major push to empower rural sporting talent, a cutting-edge archery training centre is set to come up in Pandrapath, Jashpur district, thanks to the initiative of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai.

With a vision to combine sports, education, and rural development under an integrated approach, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is taking concrete steps toward holistic progress in remote regions. As part of this vision, an integrated multi-purpose complex will be developed in Pandrapath (Tehsil Sanna, Block Bagicha) equipped with world-class facilities to nurture budding talent from tribal areas.

NTPC, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has sanctioned a financial outlay of ₹20.53 crore for the ambitious project. The complex will feature an archery training academy, a mini library, a primary health unit, a skill development centre, and a shaded nursery for organic farming. In addition, a medicinal garden will also be developed, housing herbs and healing trees.

Spanning around 10.27 acres (approximately 41,565 square metres), the land for the project has been identified with support from the local administration. CM Sai expressed confidence that this initiative will give rural youth the opportunity to refine their talents and showcase them on national and international platforms.

Comprehensive site layouts, 3D designs, structural plans, and detailed cost estimates for each component have been meticulously prepared by expert consultants. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said he firmly believes that this innovative initiative will not only promote excellence in sports but also usher in a new era of inclusive growth in Jashpur through enhanced education, healthcare, and skill-building avenues.
