Chief Minister joins Nagar Kirtan in Raipur on 350th martyrdom anniversary

Raipur, September 20, 2025 – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday joined the Nagar Kirtan procession at Serikhedi in the capital to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Paying homage, the CM said Guru Tegh Bahadur had made the supreme sacrifice to protect the nation and the faith. “It is our privilege that we are witnessing this holy procession on the soil of Chhattisgarh,” he said.

CM Shri Sai bowed before the Guru Granth Sahib and prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness of the people of the state. He honoured the Panj Pyaras leading the palki of the Guru Granth Sahib and was felicitated with a sacred Siropa and Kirpan.

Calling it a moment of pride for Chhattisgarh, CM Sai said the Nagar Kirtan had begun from Gurudwara Dhubri Sahib in Assam and travelled through several parts of the country before reaching Chhattisgarh. After covering nearly 10,000 kilometres, the procession arrived in Raipur. “For our people, this is a historic and blessed occasion to welcome and participate in the yatra,” he noted.

The CM recalled Guru Tegh Bahadur’s unparalleled martyrdom. “He never bowed to the Mughals and sacrificed his life to defend his faith. Even today, Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib at Chandni Chowk in Delhi stands as an eternal symbol of his sacrifice. We bow with reverence before Guru Tegh Bahadur,” he said.

Sai also remembered the sacrifices of the four Sahibzadas, sons of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. “The Sahibzadas refused to surrender before the Mughals and instead embraced martyrdom to protect their faith. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saluting their bravery, declared December 26 to be observed every year as Veer Bal Diwas. The Chhattisgarh government has also decided to include Veer Bal Diwas in the school curriculum,” he announced.

CM pays tribute to soldiers martyred in attack on Assam Rifles

Raipur, September 20, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai strongly condemned the cowardly attack on Assam Rifles in Manipur. In this attack, Rifleman Ranjit Kashyap, a brave son of Bastar, Chhattisgarh, along with another soldier, made the supreme sacrifice of his life.

CM Sai said that the nation will forever remember the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the martyred soldiers. Paying heartfelt tributes to the martyrs, he expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and assured that the state government stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.

Raipur, 18 September 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today flagged off a new MEMU train service from Rajim to Raipur, enhancing travel convenience for people of the region. The inauguration took place in Rajim, where the Chief Minister also launched the Rajim–Raipur–Rajim MEMU service and extended the Raipur–Abhanpur MEMU train to Rajim. A large number of passengers boarded the inaugural service and travelled enthusiastically to Raipur. The introduction of an affordable and accessible train service created an atmosphere of joy and celebration across the area.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said the new service would provide an economical travel option to residents of Rajim, Gariaband, and Devbhog for reaching the state capital, Raipur. He noted that the train would prove particularly beneficial for students, employees, and traders. “Rajim, the ‘Prayag of Chhattisgarh,’ has now been connected to the rail network. Travel from rural regions to Raipur will become more convenient, comfortable, and affordable,” he added.

Highlighting the pace of development in the state, the Chief Minister said, “With the blessings of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Chhattisgarh has witnessed uninterrupted progress for the past 19 months. The rapid investments being made in railway infrastructure will shape a new future for coming generations.” He recalled that nearly eight years ago, a narrow-gauge train used to run from Dhamtari to Raipur, and after this gap, broad-gauge service has now been made available. On behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, Shri Sai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi for this development.

 Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that around ₹45,000 crore worth of railway projects are currently underway in the state. In the Budget for FY 2025–26, a provision of nearly ₹7,000 crore has been made, ensuring rapid expansion and development of railway services in Chhattisgarh.

The inauguration event was attended by Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Mahasamund MP Smt. Forest Minister and District-in-Charge Minister for Raipur, Shri Kedar Kashyap, said that the direct rail link to Rajim, the ‘Prayag of Chhattisgarh,’ would also boost tourism. He highlighted that on May 22, 103 railway stations across the country were selected for modernization under the ‘Nirmal Bharat Railway Station’ scheme, which includes five stations from Chhattisgarh, with 32 more to be added. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi and appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Sai, noting that the ongoing ₹45,000 crore worth of projects will greatly strengthen connectivity. He further mentioned that Bastar too is benefiting, with the 140 km-long railway line under the Raoghat Project progressing steadily.

Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal noted that Rajim attracts large numbers of saints and tourists from across the country. “With this new connectivity, they can now travel directly from Raipur to Rajim, which will not only boost tourism and regional development but also enhance Rajim’s prominence on the global map,” he said.

Mahasamund MP Smt. Rupkumari Chaudhary congratulated the people and said the service would make travel between Rajim and Raipur much easier. Pilgrims and tourists would now also be able to travel directly from Rajim to Dongargarh.

According to information received from the Raipur Division of South East Central Railway, the Raipur–Abhanpur–Raipur MEMU passenger service has been extended to Rajim. From September 19, 2025, train number 68766/68767 Rajim–Abhanpur–Raipur MEMU passenger will run daily in both directions between Rajim and Raipur. The train will have a total of eight coaches, including six general class compartments and two power cars.

Raipur, September 17, 2025/ Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the Swasth Nari–Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan and the 8th National Nutrition Month from Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi virtually joined the launch event from the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University’s Krishi Mandapam in Raipur, along with thousands of women. On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Nutrition Calendar and visited stalls of the Women & Child Development and Health Departments.

Launching the scheme, Prime Minister Modi said that the journey of Viksit Bharat rests on four pillars — Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, farmers and the poor — and the campaign would strengthen this mission. He announced that over one lakh health camps will be organised across the country from September 17 to October 2, offering free check-ups and medicines for TB, anaemia and cancer. He urged mothers and sisters to attend the camps so that no woman suffers due to lack of timely diagnosis.

The Prime Minister said Nari Shakti is the main pillar of the nation, and when a mother is healthy, not only the family but society also becomes strong. Referring to the achievements of the PM Matru Vandana Yojana and Poshan Abhiyan, he noted that more than 4.5 crore women have received assistance worth ₹19,000 crore so far. He recalled that the Sickle Cell Anaemia Mission was launched from Shahdol to safeguard tribal communities. More than five crore screenings have been conducted and one crore cards issued, securing the health of future generations. Modi said every scheme — from free ration to Ayushman cards — is designed to transform the lives of the poor. “Twenty-five crore people have already come out of poverty — this is Modi’s guarantee,” he asserted.

Sharing details of PM Mitra Parks and PM Vishwakarma Yojana, he said both initiatives would generate lakhs of jobs and give artisans new recognition. On the festive season, he urged citizens to adopt swadeshi, saying: “Whatever you buy, let it be made in India — so that money stays in the country and development accelerates.”

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, India has gained a new global identity. He described women, youth, farmers and the poor as the four strong pillars of Viksit Bharat, noting that the new initiatives were laying a robust foundation for the nation’s bright future. He said that from September 17 to October 2, women would be provided free tests and medicines for TB, anaemia and cancer in the health camps — a historic step for maternal health. Referring to PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Poshan Abhiyan and the Sickle Cell Mission, he said crores of women and tribals had benefitted. At the Raipur event, CM Sai unveiled the Nutrition Month Calendar and honoured meritorious girl students under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. He also inspected health camps and departmental stalls, interacting with visitors about schemes. The stalls showcased Poshan Sangoshthi, Hamar Swasth Laika, Ready-to-Eat nutrition, Chhattisgarh millets, Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, Child Marriage Free Campaign, Mental Health, TB screening, ENT, Sickle Cell testing, Adolescent and Maternal Health initiatives.

CM flags off Poshan Rath, plants sandalwood sapling under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’

On the launch of the 8th National Nutrition Month, CM Sai flagged off the Poshan Rath, which will tour districts spreading awareness on nutrition and health among women. Along with Union Minister Annapurna Devi, he also planted sandalwood saplings in the university campus under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.

New rail link to ease travel between Raipur and Rajim, boost connectivity and tourism

Raipur, September 17, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will flag off the new Raipur–Rajim–Raipur MEMU passenger service at Rajim railway station on September 18 at 10:30 am. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel, Lok Sabha MPs Brijmohan Agrawal and Rupkumari Choudhary, along with MLAs Indrakumar Sahu and Rohit Sahu, will also grace the occasion.

The new Raipur–Rajim–Raipur MEMU passenger service will provide passengers with a more convenient, accessible and affordable travel option. Connectivity from rural areas to the state capital Raipur will become smoother. The service will especially benefit students, working professionals and traders commuting to the capital. With this, direct rail access to Rajim — regarded as the ‘Prayag of Chhattisgarh’ — will also be ensured, giving a further boost to tourism.

According to information received from South East Central Railway’s Raipur Division, the existing Raipur–Abhanpur–Raipur MEMU passenger train is being extended to Rajim. From September 19, 2025, train numbers 68766/68767 Raipur–Rajim–Raipur MEMU passenger will operate daily from both ends — Rajim and Raipur — as per the regular timetable. Major announcements for labourers on Vishwakarma Jayanti: hike in housing and e-rickshaw aid, free health check-ups

Raipur, September 17, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, addressing a massive Workers’ Convention organised at the Indoor Stadium on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, said that the role of workers in the making and progress of Chhattisgarh is incomparable. “Workers are the backbone of society, and only through their contribution will the dreams of a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India come true,” he declared.

Appreciating the labour force for their hard work and contribution, the Chief Minister said that the enthusiasm and participation of workers would help realise the aspirations of the people. On the occasion, he extended greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti, and wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, praying for his health and longevity.

CM Sai announced a series of new benefits for workers. The assistance under the Didi E-Rickshaw Yojana will be increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.50 lakh. Likewise, under the Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Sahayata Yojana, the housing construction grant for workers will also be raised from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.50 lakh. Registered labourers will now be entitled to free health check-ups and full medical treatment at the expense of the Labour Department.

Chief Minister Shri Sai recalled that Atal Bihari Vajpayee had created the state of Chhattisgarh, while in the past 11 years Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given new momentum to its growth through pro-people initiatives. On the state’s silver jubilee, he saluted the toil of workers, affirming that the government stands firmly with them in every field — health, education, social security, housing and tools.

CM Sai informed that today, funds worth more than ₹65.16 crore were transferred directly into the accounts of 1,84,220 workers under various schemes of the Labour Department. These included the Didi E-Rickshaw Yojana, Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, Nirman Shramik Mazdoor Suraksha Upkaran Sahayata Yojana, Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana, scholarship schemes and others. He stressed that transparency is the hallmark of his government, as money meant for farmers and workers now goes straight into their accounts. The E-Shram portal, launched under PM Modi’s leadership, has brought great relief to labourers. Provision has been made to provide ₹1 lakh as assistance even in cases where an unregistered worker dies at the workplace. The CM highlighted that the Shramev Jayate website and helpline are ensuring speedy grievance redressal. He underlined education, mentioning the Atal Excellent Education Yojana and free coaching schemes for the children of workers preparing for IIT, JEE, NEET and CA exams. He added that hostel seats in Delhi for UPSC aspirants have been increased from 50 to 185 in the Tribal Hostel.

Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, extending greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti, said workers play a crucial role in the nation’s development. He pointed out that today, CM Sai transferred ₹65.16 crore via DBT to the accounts of 1.84 lakh labourers. He emphasised that Chhattisgarh is progressing rapidly and the state government is faithfully fulfilling PM Modi’s guarantees. The Labour Department, he said, is operating 72 schemes through three divisions, consistently benefitting workers. He recalled that CM Sai recently interacted with children selected under the Atal Excellent Education Yojana and announced that the number of seats under the scheme would be doubled from 100 to 200 in the next academic session.

CM launches Adi Seva Pakhwada, transfers ₹6.2 crore scholarship and meal aid to 8,370 students

Raipur, September 17, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday launched the Adi Seva Pakhwada at the Prayas Residential School, Saddu, Raipur. He said the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan would play a historic role in ushering ground-level change in tribal villages. Extending greetings on behalf of the state’s three crore citizens, CM Sai wished Prime Minister Modi a long and healthy life. The programme was attended by Scheduled Caste Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MLA Motilal Sahu and several public representatives.

The Chief Minister said that under the campaign, a Tribal Vision Document 2030 will be prepared for every tribal village of the state, which will serve as a long-term roadmap for development. These will be endorsed in Gram Sabhas on October 2. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the campaign nationwide today from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. CM Sai said the objective of the Adi Karmayogi campaign is to build leadership capacity in tribal villages. Volunteers will be identified who hold a vision for village development and can implement it at the grassroots. A target has been set to prepare 20 lakh volunteers across the country, of which 1.33 lakh will be mobilised in 6,650 villages of Chhattisgarh. He informed that Adi Seva Kendras have also been established, where villagers can access government services and register their grievances.

Highlighting the glorious tribal legacy of the nation, CM Sai said the state government is drawing inspiration from tribal icons like Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh and Gundadhur. A museum is coming up at Naya Raipur to preserve the memories of tribal heroes, while the Tribal Museum showcases the cultural richness of Chhattisgarh’s communities. He added that under PM Modi’s PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aba Janjatiya Utkarsh Gram Abhiyan, budgetary support is being utilised rapidly. Areas where development has not fully reached will now see transformation at every doorstep through the Adi Karmayogi campaign, integrating them with the mainstream.

Tribal Welfare Minister Ramvichar Netam said the Adi Karmayogi campaign is the outcome of Prime Minister Modi’s far-sighted vision. It will give new direction and momentum to the development of over 11 crore tribals in the country. He said Modi, a globally popular leader and the architect of New India, will certainly fulfil the resolve of making India a developed nation by 2047. He stressed that the state government is advancing the campaign in a spirit of service, dedication and mission mode. Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal added that PM Modi is working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and the Adi Karmayogi campaign will ensure comprehensive development of tribal society.

Principal Secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department Sonmoni Borah, presenting the departmental report, said that 1.33 lakh Adi Saathis and Adi Sahayogis are being trained across 6,650 villages. These associates will communicate with tribal families in their own languages, understand their issues and aspirations, and help shape development priorities. He said the goal is to prepare 50,000 Adi Karmayogis by the upcoming State Foundation Day. Scholarship disbursal timelines have been fixed to ensure timely credit to students’ accounts.

₹6.2 crore transferred as scholarship and meal aid

On the occasion, CM Sai digitally transferred ₹6,02,19,270 to the accounts of 8,370 students residing in ashram hostels under schemes of the Tribal Development, Scheduled Caste Development and Backward Class Welfare Departments. The assistance included both scholarships and meal support.

Sapling planted under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0

The Chief Minister planted a jamun sapling in the Prayas School campus under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0. He viewed paintings and rangolis made by students, praised their creativity, and received a portrait painting of himself as a gift.

Lunch with Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group children

CM Sai also had lunch with children of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) Baiga community. He sat with student Kishan Baiga and student Anjula Baiga, both from Prayas Residential School, Saddu. Sharing munaga sabzi, poori and dal-bhaat, he interacted warmly with them. Kishan, a resident of LakhanTola village in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district and a Class 11 student, told the CM about PM Janman Yojana works in his village. Anjula, a Class 12 student from Devgarh village in the same district, said she was pursuing biology. The CM encouraged both to study with dedication and blessed them.

CM Sai attends Kharun Maiya Samrasta Mahaarati: Mahadev Ghat on Kharun River resonates with chants

Raipur, September 17, 2025/ Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai this evening attended the Kharun Maiya Samrasta Mahaarati organised at Mahadev Ghat, Raipura. The grand event was jointly held under the aegis of Sanatan Dhwaj Vahini and Mahila Morcha to mark the birthday of the country’s popular Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this occasion, 2,100 lamps were lit on the riverbank as part of the traditional Deepdan.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sai said it was a matter of great fortune that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s pride has risen across the globe. He described Modi as the architect of modern India, who is relentlessly working for the creation of a developed nation, benefitting the country’s 1.4 billion citizens. He recalled that the Prime Minister has taken a resolve to make India a developed nation by 2047, and in line with that vision, Chhattisgarh’s double-engine government is working with determination and commitment on every front to establish the state as a developed entity.

The Chief Minister further said that under the leadership of Sadhvi Pragya Bharti, the Ganga Aarti had begun at the banks of the Mahanadi in Chandrapur, which continues even today. He himself was present at that ceremony. Later, the Ganga Aarti was also initiated at the Kelo river in Raigarh, which he termed an excellent initiative towards river conservation. He appealed for such Ganga Aarti to be organised from time to time at the Kharun river as well.

On the occasion, CM Sai extended warm greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. He also conveyed greetings to the people of the state on Vishwakarma Jayanti and praised the members of Sanatan Dhwaj Vahini and Mahila Morcha for organising such a grand event.

Raipur Lok Sabha MP Brijmohan Agrawal, speaking at the event, said that river aarti symbolise faith. Through them, people connect deeply with rivers and commit to their perpetual conservation. This tradition, he said, is not new but part of the timeless practices of Sanatan Dharma. Rivers have, since ancient times, been the foremost centres of faith in the Indian civilisation.

Raipur, 17 September 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the Sanitation, Housing and Public Welfare Festival (Swachhata, Awas Aur Lok Kalyan Utsav) organised by the Department of Urban Administration and Development. Addressing the gathering at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium in Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Sai launched the state-level roll-out of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, the ‘Angikaar-2025’ initiative, PM SVANidhi Yojana 2.0 and the Welfare Fair. He also presided over housewarming ceremonies for more than 11,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) across different municipalities.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao, MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Rajesh Munat and Sunil Soni, and Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey were present on the occasion.

During the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai and other dignitaries unveiled the toolkit for the state-level Swachhata Super League. Beneficiaries under PMAY (Urban) 2.0 were handed construction permits for their sanctioned houses, while cheques were distributed to beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi. Compassionate appointment letters were also issued to family members of deceased employees of Raipur Municipal Corporation. Chief Minister Shri Sai administered a mass pledge of cleanliness, and flagged off door-to-door garbage collection vehicles dedicated to sanitation across Raipur and other municipalities.

Extending greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday, CM Sai lauded the Prime Minister for his role in instilling awareness about hygiene and health across the country. “Cleanliness is no longer a mere campaign; it has become a part of daily habit. Keeping our homes and surroundings clean is not just the responsibility of women but equally of men,” he said, thanking the Prime Minister for elevating the nation’s sanitation standards.

Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s achievements, CM Sai noted that the state secured seven national awards in the Swachh Survekshan 2024–25. Among India’s 100 cleanest cities with populations below 20,000, as many as 58 are from Chhattisgarh alone. He commended sanitation workers, ‘Swachhata Didis’ and citizens for their contribution and urged further improvements in rankings. “We are working in alignment with our Vision Document-2047 to build a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India,” he added.

Deputy CM Shri Arun Sao, in his address, said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has consistently prioritised the welfare of every citizen over the past 11 years. Guided by the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, the government is committed to housing for all through PMAY (Urban) 2.0 under the ‘Angikaar-2025’ campaign, being implemented between September 4 and October 31. He further said that PM SVANidhi 2.0, rolled out statewide from today, is aimed at empowering street vendors and ensuring their welfare. “Through the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign beginning today, every citizen will be connected to the cleanliness movement, turning it into a people’s revolution,” he remarked.

Earlier, Dr. Basavaraju S., Secretary, Urban Administration, welcomed the guests and provided details of the initiatives being launched. He informed that the fortnight-long cleanliness drive is being celebrated as ‘Swachhotsav’, during which urban local bodies will identify and clean up black spots. Director of Urban Administration R. Ekka, Raipur Municipal Commissioner Vishwadeep, SUDA CEO Shashank Pandey, senior officials, MIC members, corporators, and a large number of beneficiaries were present at the programme.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off door-to-door garbage collection vehicles dedicated to strengthening cleanliness efforts of Raipur Municipal Corporation and other urban bodies.

Leading by example, Shri Sai took up a broom and participated in cleaning the premises, sending out a strong message of public responsibility towards cleanliness. He said that keeping one’s surroundings clean is a collective duty and stressed that the fortnight will see a series of activities across the state, urging people from all walks of life to actively participate. The Chief Minister particularly called upon the youth to join the movement, observing that awareness and self-motivated participation in cleanliness will bring positive social change.

Recalling Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, Shri Sai said the Prime Minister has consistently emphasized cleanliness and set a lofty national goal of a clean India. “We must carry this mission forward and discharge our responsibilities with the highest priority,” he added.

He interacted with women members of self-help groups and reviewed their livelihood-based activities. The Chief Minister also inspected stalls on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, CSPDCL, CREDA’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, waste collection and management models, and products manufactured by self-help groups. He appreciated the women’s initiatives and engaged in detailed discussions on their work.

As part of the programme, the Chief Minister also encouraged women vendors associated with the “Khushiyon Ka Thela” initiative and handed over UPI sound box devices to facilitate digital transactions.

Raipur, 17 September 2025// Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday offered prayers to Lord Vishwakarma at his official residence in Raipur to mark Vishwakarma Jayanti. The rituals were performed with full traditional rites.

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Annapurna Devi, Chhattisgarh’s Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, and Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Smt. Varnika Sharma were present on the occasion.

Extending his greetings to the people, the Chief Minister described Lord Vishwakarma as the celestial architect signifying innovation and skill. “The labourers of Chhattisgarh are the real pillars of the state’s progress and development. Raipur, 17 September 2025/ Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Annapurna Devi paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today at his official residence in the state capital Raipur.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai shared details of the ongoing initiatives in Chhattisgarh related to women’s empowerment, as well as the nutrition and education of children. He expressed hope that the Centre and the State would work together to further strengthen efforts in these critical areas.

High-level meeting held to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Chhattisgarh

Raipur, September 15, 2025/ The ex-gratia amount provided to the wives or dependents of soldiers martyred in war and military operations (battle casualties) has been increased from ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh. Param Vir Chakra awardees will now receive ₹1 crore gallantry award instead of ₹40 lakh. These landmark decisions were taken today at the Rajya Sainik Board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

The sixth meeting of the Rajya Sainik Board under the Department of Soldiers’ Welfare was held today at Mahanadi Bhavan, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. On the occasion, the CM said, “Our soldiers lay down their lives for the security of the nation. We bow to their valour and sacrifice. The government is committed to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.” The meeting also discussed various welfare schemes run by the state for war widows, ex-servicemen, and their dependents.

Addressing the committee, CM Sai said that the safety of 140 crore Indians rests on the tireless dedication of the nation’s brave soldiers. “It is the duty and responsibility of all of us to ensure the welfare of these sons of Bharat Mata who dedicate their lives in her service. Today’s meeting has resulted in fruitful discussions for the benefit of ex-servicemen, widows, and their families. The decisions taken will directly benefit them. Several important suggestions were also given by members for the betterment of ex-servicemen, which will be positively considered,” the Chief Minister added.

During the meeting, several important agenda points were approved in favour of ex-servicemen, widows, and their dependents. These include: increasing the ex-gratia for wife or dependents of battle casualties from ₹20 lakh to ₹50 lakh; enhancing the amount for gallantry award recipients, with Param Vir Chakra awardees now to receive ₹1 crore instead of ₹40 lakh; raising the motivational grant given to parents of soldiers from ₹5,000 to ₹20,000; and increasing the grant for soldiers disabled in war and military operations from ₹10 lakh to ₹30 lakh. Additionally, serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and widows will now receive stamp duty exemption up to ₹25 lakh on their first land or house purchase.

The meeting began with a welcome of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Government Amitabh Jain presented him with a sapling. Subsequently, Brigadier Vivek Sharma, VSM (Retd), Director of Soldiers’ Welfare Directorate, Chhattisgarh, and Secretary of the Rajya Sainik Board, presented a brief report on the activities of the Rajya Sainik Board. He also presented the progress report on the proceedings of the fifth Rajya Sainik Board meeting held on 13 January 2012, before initiating discussions on the agenda items of the sixth meeting.

Raipur, September 12, 2025/ Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh’s health services continue to scale new heights. Taking a major step to further strengthen medical education, the state government has granted administrative approval for the establishment of six new physiotherapy colleges. The construction of these institutions will not only open new avenues for the youth but also ensure better quality of healthcare services in the coming years.

According to the order issued by the Department of Medical Education, new physiotherapy colleges will be set up in Manendragarh, Jashpur, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Durg, and Jagdalpur. For these institutions, the government has sanctioned a total of ₹83.62 crore. Each college will receive a budget allocation of approximately ₹13.93 crore (nearly ₹14 crore). The funds will be utilized not only for modern buildings and laboratories but also for essential equipment and infrastructure to benefit students. This decision is expected to pave a new path for the youth of the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, “The health of Chhattisgarh’s three crore people and the future of our youth are both the top priorities of our government. The six new physiotherapy colleges sanctioned today are not just institutions; they are the foundation stones of a healthy and self-reliant Chhattisgarh. Through these colleges, our youth will become doctors and specialists who will serve not only Chhattisgarh but also take the state’s identity to new heights across the country.”

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, saying, “Under the visionary leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai, health education in Chhattisgarh is reaching new heights. The establishment of six physiotherapy colleges will give our youth access to advanced education and take physiotherapy services to villages across the state. This decision will strengthen the healthcare infrastructure while opening new doors of employment and opportunities for young people.”

It is noteworthy that physiotherapy is today considered an essential component of healthcare, and these new colleges will prepare trained specialists who will provide improved services to society in the future.

Experts believe that the expansion of physiotherapy colleges in Chhattisgarh will bring major relief to patients in remote and rural areas. People will no longer have to depend on metropolitan cities for treatment; they will be able to access physiotherapy services in their own districts.

Alongside existing medical and nursing colleges, this new chain of physiotherapy institutions will broaden the scope of health education in the state. Chhattisgarh will not only produce doctors and nurses but also a large number of professional physiotherapists. The decision is also set to generate new employment opportunities. From construction to operation, these institutions will provide jobs at the local level, and graduates will serve in healthcare facilities, meeting the needs of the state.

Grandmaster Pravin Mahadeo Thipsay calls on CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, September 15, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai was called upon yesterday at his Raipur residence by India’s international chess player and Grandmaster Pravin Mahadeo Thipsay. The Chief Minister lauded Mr. Thipsay’s exceptional talent and remarkable achievements in the field of chess, extending his appreciation to him.

Also present on the occasion were Chhattisgarh Olympic Association General Secretary Shri Vikram Sisodia, along with other office-bearers of the Association.

It is noteworthy that Pravin Mahadeo Thipsay is among the few Indian players to have earned the coveted title of Grandmaster in chess. He also holds the distinction of being the first Indian to win the Commonwealth Chess Championship. In recognition of his contribution to Indian sports, he has been honoured with the prestigious Arjun Award.
