Raipur. Bharatiya Janata Party State President Kiran Dev described the two-year tenure of the BJP government in the state, led by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, as a genuine document of its accomplishments and achievements. He said that the state government has earned credibility by fulfilling the promise of providing a permanent roof to every poor person in the state, which the BJP had expressed in the "Modi Guarantee" during the assembly elections.
The BJP State President detailed the important decisions and achievements of the BJP government in Chhattisgarh in the last two years, stating that on the second day of the BJP government's formation in the state, a cabinet meeting was held and a decision was taken to approve the provision of Prime Minister's Housing Scheme to 18,12,743 needy families, in accordance with Modi's guarantee. Since the launch of the scheme, over 26 lakh Prime Minister's Housing Schemes have been approved in rural and urban areas of the state. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), against the target of 26,27,223 houses, 24,22,571 houses have been approved and houses for 16,72,002 beneficiaries have been completed by 2016-26. Accelerating the pace of housing construction, approximately 2,000 houses are being constructed daily, placing Chhattisgarh at the top position in the country. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan Yojana, special backward tribal families in Chhattisgarh are being benefited with pucca houses, under which a total of 33,217 houses have been approved so far. Similarly, under the Chief Minister's Housing Scheme (Gramin), houses have been approved for 38,798 homeless families in the state.
Dev said that 15,000 houses have been approved for surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families in the Naxal-affected areas of the state. Security camps established in Naxal-affected areas have been established within 10 km of each other. In the villages falling under the Niyada Nellanar scheme, a target has been set to construct 13,788 houses in 327 villages and 1.32 lakh houses in urban areas under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0. Similarly, under Awas se Ajeevika Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, more than 8000 women self-help group didis became Lakhpati didis by supplying centering plates and construction material. He said that Atal Digital Suvidha Kendra has made withdrawal of installments of PMAY-G beneficiaries easier in more than 4500 Gram Panchayats.

Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the programme organised at Suhela. While visiting the departmental stalls there, a unique example of respect for farmers was seen. The Cooperative Department saluted the produce and hard work of the farmers by weighing Chief Minister Sai with paddy. The Chief Minister discussed with the farmers present about the system of paddy procurement at the support price, which the farmers described as very transparent and convenient, and thanked them and presented them with a letter of respect. Sixty youth participating in the Skill Development Department's "Hum Honge Kamyaab" training program were also honored with certificates. This event, held in Suhela, not only demonstrated the effective implementation of government schemes but also sent a powerful message of the government's sensitivity and commitment to farmers, youth, women, and the differently-abled.

Raipur. The 22nd installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana was released on December 3, 2025. Baloda Bazar:  A tragic incident occurred in Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh. A woman's attempt to protect herself from the cold by lighting a bonfire proved costly when her hut caught fire (Alav Se Jhopdi Me Lagi Aag), resulting in her death. Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Woman dies after being caught in fire

This entire incident occurred in the Suhela police station area. A woman had resorted to a bonfire to protect herself from the cold. However, as soon as she fell asleep, the bonfire engulfed the entire hut, resulting in her death. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information and have sent her body for post-mortem and have begun an investigation.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Asha Bai, a scrap picker who lived in a roadside hut in Suhela village. On Wednesday night, she lit a bonfire in her hut to protect herself from the cold. As she fell asleep, the bonfire engulfed the entire hut. She was also burned to death in the flames.

Police engaged in further action

On Thursday morning, when people noticed smoke coming out of the hut after the fire, they informed the police. Police arrived at the scene immediately, took possession of the partially burned body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. They are also investigating the matter and questioning people.

Blanket catches fire from bonfire

It should be noted that a tragic incident had also occurred in Korba district earlier this year. A blanket caught fire from a bonfire, resulting in burns to an elderly man. He was hospitalized and later died during treatment.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he died during treatment.

Jashpur.  Police in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, have arrested a rape suspect from Goa. The accused had fled after raping a 17-year-old girl. The incident came to light when the victim became pregnant. Based on the victim's complaint, Jashpur police arrested the accused from Goa. The accused's name is Milram Tirkey, 52.

Jashpur Police is conducting a special campaign called Operation Ankush, in which absconding accused are being apprehended. In this effort, Jashpur Police has succeeded in apprehending an absconding accused in a rape case from Goa.

In fact, on 6.10.25, the father of a 17-year-old minor girl from the Baghbahar police station area lodged a report at the police station stating that four or five days earlier, the victim's aunt had told him that his minor daughter had been forcibly raped by the accused, Milaram Tirkey, 52, from the same village, while she was grazing goats in the forest, a fact which his daughter was not telling anyone due to fear of public shame. He came to know about this when the minor girl became pregnant.

Given the sensitivity of the case, a case was immediately registered against accused Milram Tirki at Baghbahar police station under Section 64 (1) of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act, and investigation was initiated. The minor victim was also medically examined. Accused Milram Tirki had been absconding since the incident. Police were continuously searching for him and raiding his possible hiding places.

Meanwhile, the police learned that the accused, Milram Tirki, was in the Fatoda police station area of ​​Goa. SSP Jashpur Shashi Mohan Singh immediately formed a police team and sent it to Goa. They detained the accused, Milram Tirki, from a restaurant near the Mazgaon bus stand in the Fatoda police station area and brought him back. Milram Tirki was working as a waiter at the restaurant.

During police interrogation, the accused, Milram Tirkey, confessed to the crime. He has been arrested and sent to jail on judicial remand.

Bijapur. Three brave soldiers of the Bijapur District Police Reserve (DRG) sacrificed their lives in an encounter with Naxalites on December 3rd in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. The martyred soldiers include Head Constable Monu alias Mohan Badri, Constable Dukaru Gonde, and Constable Ramesh Sodi. Displaying indomitable courage, the three soldiers fought tooth and nail until their last breath, killing dozens of Naxalites in the encounter. The three martyred DRG soldiers were laid to rest with a guard of honor at the Shaheed Vatika complex of the Police Lines on the Bijapur-Gangalur road on Thursday. The officers present and the large number of citizens bid them a tearful farewell.

Raipur. The winter session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will be special this year, as it will be held for the first time in the new Assembly building in Naya Raipur. Raipur. Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade today participated in groundbreaking ceremonies for development projects being held in various villages of Surajpur district under the Chief Minister's Gram Gaurav Path Yojana. On this occasion, Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that the Chief Minister's Gram Gaurav Path Yojana is an important scheme that will give new impetus to the development of rural areas. Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana portal for the 2025-26 Rabi season. This scheme provides farmers with a protective shield against losses caused by natural disasters such as adverse weather, drought, floods, waterlogging, pests, and hailstorms. Last year, based on crop harvesting experiments, claims worth ₹48.62 crore were paid to 28,037 farmers in the district. This year, farmers in more than 420 notified villages in the district can insure their Rabi crops. The deadline for insurance is December 31, 2025.
This time, notified crops such as irrigated wheat, unirrigated wheat, gram, linseed, and mustard can be insured. All types of farmers, including indebted, non-indebted, landholders, and sharecroppers, can participate in the scheme. Any interested farmer sowing a notified crop in the notified villages can avail of this scheme. As per the premium rates, farmers will have to deposit Rs 690 per hectare for irrigated wheat, Rs 405 for unirrigated wheat, Rs 645 for gram, Rs 315 for linseed and Rs 375 for mustard.Farmers can obtain crop insurance through their nearest bank branch, rural bank, district cooperative central bank, service cooperative society, public service center, or the Government of India's insurance portal. The administration has appealed to farmers to insure their crops before the deadline so that they can receive financial security in the event of any natural disaster. This will provide national and international education, research, and startup opportunities to the state's youth.

Prestigious institutions like IIIT, IIM, and National Law University already operate in Naya Raipur. The development of EduCity will create a strong and modern education ecosystem here. Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rahul Bhagat, Chief Executive Officer of the Naya Raipur Development Authority, Mr. Chandan Kumar, and senior officials were present during the meeting.
