Araria : A demand has been made from BJP to field Prof. Kamal Narayan Yadav from Araria Lok Sabha constituency of Bihar. This demand has been made by many organizations including Mithila Rajya Nirman Sangharsh Samiti by writing a letter to the top leaders of the party. He has been associated with BJP since 1996 and has held many important posts at the district level in the organization.

Before this, in the year 1990, he was a member of the Janata Party. He had contested the Araria Assembly elections on the ticket. However, he lost this election by just 369 votes.

New Delhi : Wife Vibha Devi has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and top officials of Delhi Police, demanding a high-level investigation into the death of deceased mason Pappu Paswan under suspicious circumstances.

Vibha, the wife of the deceased, has said in a letter that her husband used to work as a mason at a fielder's house in Vivek Vihar police station area of Delhi, who died under suspicious circumstances on December 11, 2023. But when the police investigated the incident , the case was dismissed without a thorough investigation. Even a FIR was not registered.

Vibha Devi, a resident of Saharsa district of Bihar, has said in the application that it has been written in the post-mortem report that her husband Pappu's ribs were broken, blood was leaking from the nose, ears and other places. This makes it clear that it is due to beating.

The wife of the deceased has also mentioned in the application that her husband had a dispute with three of Wilder's business owners regarding the payment of dues. Whose names have been mentioned in the application and action has been sought by filing a named FIR against them.

Patna (Bihar) : In the online meeting of the Indian Journalist Association (IJA) held today, the journalists asked the Central Government, especially the Railway Minister, to immediately restore the ticket concession given to all accredited journalists in rail travel. For a long time, journalists have been deprived of concessions, due to which journalists have to spend more in traveling for their work, which is a violation of the rights of journalists. In the meeting, it was decided to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Railway Minister and Railway Board.

In the meeting, the members raised concerns about difficulty in getting recognition, difficulty in applying for pension, implementation of journalist protection law, denial of comforts and facilities to mofussil journalists by the newspaper's management, murder of journalists/even in emergency situations, any action taken by the management and the government. Serious concern was expressed over no compensation or relief being given. For this, it was decided to write to the Chief Ministers of various states along with the Union Home Minister and Information Minister and meet them.

New Delhi : Famous technical educationist Prof. (Dr.) Brahmanand Mishra has said that after independence, technical education has developed rapidly in the country and the interest of students in this direction has increased.

Dr. Mishra said this during an interview. Born on May 11, 1936, he said that when independence was achieved, he was only 11 years old. It is a big thing for people from rural areas to pass the matriculation examination. But immediately after independence, everything started changing rapidly and people's inclination towards technical education increased.

Dr. Mishra, who hails from Godda, a tribal area of the then Bihar, told that after matriculation in 1954, I.Sc. in 1957 and then B.Sc. Engineering in 1962, he obtained M.Tech degree in 1967. Till that time The interest of Indian students in the field of technical education had started increasing on a large scale. Many renowned institutions had opened.

He said that the IIT to be opened in Kharagpur was initially supposed to be built in Bihar, but it could not happen because of Vidhan Chandra Rai. Later, the first Chief Minister of Bihar, Sribabu established BIT Sindri on the same lines.

ED questions Paytm executives, gets documents on latest RBI action

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has questioned senior Paytm executives and taken submission of documents from them following the recent RBI action of barring Paytm Payments Bank Ltd from accepting deposits or top-ups in any customer account, official sources said Thursday.

The central agency, according to the sources, is conducting preliminary examination of documents before it decides to launch a formal investigation into the RBI-flagged alleged irregularities at the fintech company under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

Some documents have been recently submitted by Paytm executives following which they were asked certain questions. Some more information has been sought, the sources said.

As of now, no irregularities have been detected and a case under FEMA will only be registered once any contravention under the said law is found, they added.

An investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) involving Paytm is already going on for some time, they said.

One97 Communications, which provides financial services under the Paytm brand, and its banking arm Paytm Payments Bank have been receiving notices and requests for information with respect to customers of the respective entities, an exchange filing by the company said on Wednesday.

Paytm said its associate Paytm Payments Bank Limited does not undertake outward foreign remittances.

"One 97 Communications Limited (OCL), its subsidiaries and its associate, Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL), have over time been receiving notices and requisition for information, documents and explanations from the authorities, including Enforcement Directorate (ED), with respect to the customers that may have done business with the respective entities, and provided the required information, documents and explanations to the authorities," Paytm said in a regulatory filing.

Paytm said the company and its associate have continued to provide information, documents and explanations to the authorities as required by them.

Earlier this month, the Enforcement Directorate and the Financial Intelligence Unit asked the RBI to share its report on the recent action taken to bar Paytm Payments Bank Ltd from accepting deposits or top-ups in customer accounts, according to sources.

The central bank, on January 31, directed it to stop accepting deposits or top-ups in any customer accounts, wallets, FASTags and other instruments after February 29.

The ED has been probing Paytm and other online payment wallets as part of its money laundering investigation against Chinese-controlled mobile phone apps who allegedly laundered funds using merchant IDs created on these fintech platforms.

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has also sought the report from the RBI to analyse whether Paytm or PPBL followed the required procedures as a 'reporting entity' under section 13 of the PMLA.

Under this section of the anti-money laundering law, a financial institution, bank or intermediary has to furnish details to the FIU about maintaining records of all transactions and documents evidencing identity of its clients and beneficial owners as well as account files and business correspondence relating to its clients.

The BJP, defending its stance, asserts an unwavering commitment to farmers, citing policies aimed at their welfare. The party emphasises initiatives such as health cards, low-interest loans, and increased Minimum Support Price (MSP) on various crops. The AAP government in Delhi denies permission to convert Bawana stadium into a temporary jail, asserting farmers’ constitutional right to protest. Kolkata :Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday put the blame squarely on the BJP for fomenting trouble in Sandeshkhali, while asserting that all necessary steps have been taken to restore peace in the area. Speaking in the state legislative Assembly, Miss Banerjee broke her silence on the issue, as she accused the BJP of engineering the situation in Sandeshkhali to make it a trouble-spot by importing some outsiders.

“Some people were giving tall talk on the Sandeshkhali issue with a section of the media replaying their version without knowing anything about the real cause. I have never condoned injustice and violence. I have already sent the state women commission there. Police have already taken steps by arresting 17 persons for the unrest and also apprehended those who were showing themselves on camera wearing masks. These all turned out to be BJP activists,” Miss Banerjee said.

“The ED (Enforcement Directorate) first entered Sandeshkhali targeting Shahjahan, there was a deliberate attempt to create tension between minority and tribal populations,” she said. Referring to the protests against alleged sexual harassment of women, Miss Banerjee said: “Anybody may have some issues to vent anger and stage protests. Should there is anything like this the government will take steps.

Women’s commission and a team of women police have been sent there, who are going door to door to listen to their complaints. They will submit their report and on the basis of that, if there is any problem, we definitely will act according to it. First we will have to know what is the fact.” Miss Banerjee also said that the Sandeshkhali tensionwas nothing new. “There is a RSS base there. An incident like what is unfolding now had taken place about seven to eight years back,” said the chief minister.

Miss Banerjee also spoke about the deaths of four children in a trench collapse at Chopra in North Dinajpur, for which she blamed the Border Security Force and demanded stern action by the Central government against the BSF personnel responsible. “ There are reports suggest that the BSF there are distributing various items packing in saffron bags. Who are they? Your work is to secure border and not to hold camps for the BJP,” she went on to say.

Raipur: “Our government maintains a policy of zero tolerance against crime, drugs, and illegal activities. If crimes are not controlled, strict departmental action will be taken against the police captain of the district concerned”, said Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai while addressing the conference of Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police held today at Police Headquarters Nava Raipur. He said that there should be fear in the minds of criminals about the police and respect in the minds of the general public like the army.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo told the officials that the behavior of the police should be strict towards criminals and equally polite and soft towards the common people. He added that social evils like illegal liquor, gambling, betting hollow the society from within. It is most worrying when youth are affected by it. Giving strict instructions to the officers, the Chief Minister said that if criminal activities are not controlled, action will be taken not only against the police captain of the district concerned but also against the officials at the police station level.

Shri Sai said that the police department is a disciplined department; this discipline should be visible in the police officers, which will ultimately prove to be a milestone in the establishment of a disciplined and crime-free society. Referring to the efforts being made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to establish the concept of justice through punishment, he said that it should be ensured that the new laws are implemented in a time-bound manner.

He added that our Jawans are fighting bravely under difficult circumstances in the Maoist-affected areas of the state. Chhattisgarh Government is standing with the police personnel on every front and there will be no reduction in their facilities. All necessary steps have been taken for the welfare of the police. We have made arrangements for timely promotion, accommodation, infrastructure, and supply of necessary resources and will continue to do so. Referring to the budget for the financial year 2024-25 of the Chhattisgarh Government, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in this budget a large amount has been allocated for the police department. This budget will prove decisive in establishing the rule of law.

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the Home Department has got a lot in the first budget of the Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai-led Chhattisgarh Government; there has been an increase of 16 per cent in the budget of the department as compared to last year's budget. In this budget, a provision of ration bags and spike-resistant shoes has been made for the soldiers going for Naxal operations, which will now provide convenience to them. Provisions have also been made in this budget to increase the facilities of all the officials and employees of the police department.

He added that our Chief Minister has equal sympathy for all officials ranging from senior officers to constables. It is the duty of all of us that if a crime occurs, we should catch the culprit at the earliest. Shri Sharma stated that an environment should be created in society so that crime does not occur and with this aim in mind, the officers should fulfill their responsibilities. If the police captain is determined that there should be no crime and no drug trade in the district, then it will not happen at all. He reiterated the resolve, "Chhattisgarh was an island of peace; we will establish it as an island of peace again."

New Delhi (Agency): Ram Temple cannot become an election issue in the next Lok Sabha elections, because elections have already been fought on this issue under the leadership of Lal Krishna Advani and BJP has secured two to 80 seats.

ED Files Case Against NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede Over Money Laundering Complaint By CBI

The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday registered a case against Mumbai NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and began an investigation into a money laundering complaint against him. Wankhede allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore as bribe from Shah Rukh Khan to "spare his son Aryan Khan" whom he arrested in the Cordelia crusie ship drug case in October, 2021. This resulted in the registration of an FIR by the CBI.

Based on this, the ED registered the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED also summoned three Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials, news agency PTI reported.

Wankhede, an Indian Revenue Service officer of the Customs and Indirect Taxes cadre, moved the Bombay High Court to seek protection from any coercive activities by the central investigation agency ED. CBI had booked Wankhede in May 2023 for the alleged bribe demand after he arrested Aryan Khan in the Mumbai drugs case, PTI reported.

Apart from the provisions on bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the CBI had also booked Wankhede and others for extortion (388 IPC) and alleged criminal conspiracy (120-B IPC).

NCB filed a charge sheet in the Cordelia cruise case against 14 accused, but gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan a year later after the incident. The case took a turn when an 'independent witness' claimed that Wankhede, former superintendent of NCB Vishwa Vijay Singh, and intelligence officer Ashish Ranjan, along with another witness Kiran Gosavi, demanded Rs 25 crore to facilitate the release of Aryan Khan. Subsequently, the NCB initiated an internal vigilance investigation against Wankhede and associates, sharing its findings with the CBI, which resulted in a case being filed against him, PTI reported.

Aryan Khan was placed under arrest on October 3, 2021, a day following a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship in Mumbai. A special investigation team (SIT) established by the NCB gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan on May 27 last year, stating that he was not involved in any broader drug trafficking network as alleged by Wankhede, Hindustan Times reported.

The NCB's internal inquiry disclosed that the names of Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant were added to the agency's "information note" at the eleventh hour. Moreover, it was found that proper procedures, such as the documentation of phone seizures and the recording of statements, were not carried out by Wankhede's team.

However, at present, one tablet of Rifamshil is capable of eliminating 99 percent of the bacteria causing leprosy, which is given to the patient once a month during the treatment.

In response to another question, Dr. Pankaj, an expert in laser technology, said that blemishes, spots, wrinkles, unwanted hair etc. can be removed from the face with this technology. Earlier, the facility of this technology was not easy in the country, but now it It is convenient. Especially in this era of beautification, it has become quite relevant.

Bharat Ratna to Lal Krishna Advani: Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani will be awarded Bharat Ratna. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has shared this information by tweeting. PM Modi said that he is very happy to share that Lal Krishna Advani will be honored with Bharat Ratna. PM Modi said, 'I spoke to him and congratulated him. Advani is one of the most respected politicians of our times and his contribution to India's development is unforgettable.

PM Modi further said that Lal Krishna Advani started by working at the grassroots level and became the Deputy Prime Minister of the country. He also made his mark as our Home Minister and Information and Broadcasting Minister. Lal Krishna Advani has been the national president of BJP three times. He was also the Home Minister and Deputy PM of the country in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Sharing the information about Lal Krishna Advani being awarded Bharat Ratna, Prime Minister Narendra Modi further said that Advani served for decades in public life and was completely committed to transparency and integrity. PM Modi said that Advani has set standards in political ethics.Prime Minister Modi said, 'Advani has made unique efforts towards furthering national unity and cultural revival. No major announcement for the real estate sector, expectations from the budget remained unfulfilled

Budget 2024: The real estate sector was hopeful that they might get some big support from the government in the interim budget coming before the elections. But Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman kept this interim budget limited and avoided making big promises before the elections. The real estate sector has also not got anything special from this scheme. The sector's expectations from the budget remain unfulfilled. However, the Finance Minister made some announcements which will maintain the momentum of the real estate sector.

Real estate sector will grow even in small cities

Enrock Group Chairman Anuj Puri said that as per estimates, no major announcement was made in the interim Budget 2024. But, in the budget there has been talk of focusing on infrastructure and connectivity. This will lead to real estate development in big cities as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

These announcements of the Finance Minister will be beneficial

The target of 3 crore houses was achieved in PM Awas Yojana (Rural). 2 crore more houses will be built in the next 5 years.

The government will start a scheme to help middle class people living in rented houses, slums, chawls and illegal colonies to buy or build houses.

Capital expenditure for infrastructure will be increased by 11.1 percent to Rs 11,11,111 lakh crore, which will be 3.4 percent of GDP. This will open the possibility of real estate development.

Transit oriented development will increase the demand for houses in cities. Also, prices may increase. It will be beneficial in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities also.

The development of tourist centers will increase the demand for hotels and restaurants. Long term loans will be given to states to increase tourism.

Extending the tax benefit to startups for one more year may increase the demand for offices.

The hope of real estate sector remained unfulfilled here

The real estate sector has been demanding to be declared an industry for years. With this one can easily avail the benefits of loan and tax exemption. But, there was disappointment on this issue in the interim budget.

Tax benefits are also not available for home buyers. If tax exemption on home loans had increased, the real estate sector would have benefited greatly.

If the budget for PM Awas Yojana (Urban) increases, the demand in the real estate sector will increase. But, no such announcement was made in the interim budget.

The interim budget has ignored the demand of the real estate sector. Now the entire hope of the sector is pinned on the full budget coming in July.

There is disappointment among home buyers due to no announcement regarding tax exemption on home loan interest.

Good impact of budget will be visible in equity market

Navneet Munot, MD and CEO of HDFC Asset Management Company Limited, said that the budget has talked about the poor, youth, Annadata and women. Despite global challenges, the condition of the economy remains good. By providing adequate money for infrastructure, the Finance Minister has given full opportunity to the economy to move forward. A good impact of the budget will be visible in the equity market.

New Delhi: The missing Indian student of the prestigious Purdue University located in the US state of Indiana has died. The university confirmed this. Indian student Neel Acharya went missing on Sunday.

Neel Acharya's friends and teachers are shocked by the news of his death. The Maurice J. After Neal's body was found near Zucrow Laboratory, officials of the Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office were informed.

"It is with great sadness that I inform you that one of our students, Neil Acharya, has passed away," Chris Clifton, interim head of the university's computer science department, said in an email sent to the department on Monday. The Department of Computer Science expresses deep sorrow on his demise. I am deeply saddened by his passing, my thoughts are with his friends, family and all those affected.

Clifton said Neal was an academically talented student. He earned degrees in computer science and data science and attended the John Martinson Honors College. Clifton told the local Purdue Exponent newspaper that he received an email from the Dean of Students' office confirming Neal's death.

The exact cause of Neil's death has not been known yet.

Before confirming Neil's death, his mother Gauri Acharya had written on the social media platform 'X' on Monday, "Our son Neil Acharya is missing since yesterday i.e. 28th January. He studies at Purdue University in America. The last time he was seen was by the Uber driver. He dropped her off at Purdue University. If you know anything please help us.

The Consulate General of India in Chicago, in response to the post, said, "The Consulate is in touch with Purdue University officials and Neil's family and will provide all possible assistance."

This case has come to light at a time when the news is in the headlines that in Lithonia city of Georgia in America, a homeless drug addict attacked a 25-year-old Indian student on the head with a hammer about 50 times, due to which he died.
