Will teachers now teach or create resumes for dogs? A shocking order has been issued.

An order has been issued in Chhattisgarh's government schools that has shocked everyone, from teachers to parents. The Education Department has now assigned teachers a strange new responsibility, in addition to teaching: monitoring dogs roaming the school premises.

The order issued by the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) clearly states that all teachers and principals will now serve as "dog watchers." This isn't just a responsibility to drive dogs away from school, but rather a much more complex one. Teachers will be required to submit a complete biodata of the dogs on a special form...

  • dog color
  • male or female
  • His temperament – calm or violent
  • identification mark
  • and what time was he seen at school

It is mandatory to enter every detail, which will then be sent to the 'Dog Catcher Team' of the municipal body or Panchayat so that they can take immediate action.

Why was this unusual step taken?

The Education Department argues that the safety of children is at the heart of this decision. Recently, stray dog attacks have increased in many areas of the state, harming children. In some places, incidents of dogs spoiling children's mid-day meals have even been reported.

A similar incident in Baloda Bazar alerted the administration. Following this, the Education Minister, citing the Supreme Court's order on stray dogs, placed this new responsibility on teachers.

However, this decision has also fueled resentment among teachers. They say that maintaining dog biodata, while already busy with teaching, administrative work, and various surveys, is not only not practical but also strange.
