NSUI submits memorandum to Sports Department demanding free tickets for students for Ind vs SA match
Raipur . The Chhattisgarh NSUI has raised a strong demand for free tickets for students for the India vs. South Africa cricket match, scheduled to be held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Naya Raipur on December 3rd. On Tuesday, a delegation led by NSUI State Vice President Amit Sharma submitted a memorandum to Ravikant Agarwal, Deputy Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, requesting that the state's students be given access to the international match.
NSUI's argument: Only 1,500 tickets for students in a stadium with a capacity of 65,000
spectators. In the memorandum, the NSUI stated that the CSCS has allocated only 1,500 tickets for students in a stadium with a capacity of 65,000 spectators, at a rate of ₹800 per ticket. The organization stated that most students cannot afford this amount, while over 5 million students in the state want to experience international sports by watching the match live.
The international match will "inspire" students. — Amit Sharma
Amit Sharma said that Chhattisgarh has been a land of cricketing talent. Youngsters like IPL star Shashank Singh, former India U-19 player and Ranji captain Amandip Khare, rising domestic stars Ajay Mandal, Ashish Dahariya, Aryan Bhatia, and veteran Harpreet Singh have all brought glory to the state.
He said that if students watch international matches live, it will increase their enthusiasm and motivation towards sports, and these youth will take Chhattisgarh to new heights in sports in future
.NSUI's main demand: 15% seats should be reserved for students.
The organization has demanded that at least 15% of the stadium's total capacity, or approximately 10,000 tickets, be made available free of charge to students in the state. NSUI called this a "necessary step in the interest of students." NSUI
has threatened to launch a protest if a decision isn't made within two days.
NSUI has demanded that Deputy Director Ravikant Agarwal make a decision within two days. The organization also announced that in the coming days they will meet with the President of the Chhattisgarh Cricket Association (CSCS) and request him to ensure priority for students. NSUI has clearly warned that if the demand isn't considered seriously, they will surround and protest the match, for which the government and administration will be held responsible.
NSUI officials who arrived to submit the memorandum
included State General Secretary Nikhil Banjari, State Secretary Mehtab Hussain, District Vice President Vaibhav Mujewar, Lucky Sahu, Rizwan Khan, Pratik Dhruv, Saurabh Nag, Satyam, Kapil, and Abhi Suryavanshi, along with several other activists.
