A new era of medical facilities begins in Kabirdham

Raipur - Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today presented a historic gift to Kabirdham district by laying the foundation stone at the construction site of the new Government Medical College. This marked the beginning of a new era of medical facilities in the district. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were specially present at the event. With the foundation stone laying ceremony, a new chapter of development has been added to the health map of Kabirdham district. The establishment of the medical college will further strengthen the district's health infrastructure. The availability of specialist doctors will increase, modern medical facilities will be developed, and quality healthcare will be accessible to the general public locally. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai, on the demand of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, announced the construction of the Shri Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev River Front in Kawardha and a college in Raveli. Describing the foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Government Medical College building in Kabirdham district as historic, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai congratulated the people of the district. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in the last 25 years, Chhattisgarh has established new dimensions of development. Following the formation of the state, basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water, and education was strengthened. The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the medical college building during his visit to Raipur, and today, its foundation stone laying ceremony was held. Fulfilling this long-pending demand will provide better healthcare facilities to the people locally. The Chief Minister stated that the health infrastructure in Kawardha district has been strengthened in the last two years. The establishment of facilities such as CT scans and critical care units has made treatment more accessible. Chief Minister Sai stated that the state government is committed to ensuring easy access to healthcare for all. He noted that today marks the completion of two years of the state government, and the state is celebrating its Silver Jubilee across the state to mark the 25th anniversary of the formation of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Raipur on November 1st, the State Foundation Day, where he inaugurated the new Vidhan Sabha building and the Tribal Museum. He said that this museum is rich in memories of tribal bravery and sacrifices of great men, which everyone must visit. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that as per the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Modi, all the works are being completed in a timely manner.

Discussing the interests of farmers, he stated that for the third consecutive year, paddy procurement is being carried out at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal, based on the rate of 21 quintals per acre. The Chief Minister described decisions such as the Ramlala Darshan Yojana and the increase in the rate of tendu leaves from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per standard bag as important steps taken in the interest of farmers and the forest region. He noted that a large number of Baiga and other tribal communities reside in the Kawardha region, for whose overall development the Central Government has launched the PM Janman Yojana. This scheme is dedicated to the development of particularly backward tribes. The Chief Minister also informed that ₹146 crore has been approved for the development of Bhoramdev under the Swadesh Darshan Yojana, which will give the region a new identity on the national and international tourism map. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, addressing the foundation stone-laying ceremony, said that today is an unprecedented and proud day in the history of Kawardha. This is a moment that will be etched in golden letters. He said that many important achievements have been made since the formation of Kawardha district after independence, but a historic day like the establishment of a medical college comes only once in a lifetime. Dr. Singh said that the respect of farmers is paramount in the state. Under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, mothers and sisters are being given an amount of Rs. 1,000 per month directly into their accounts, providing financial strength to their families. He praised the foresight of Chief Minister Shri Sai and said that the development projects received by Kawardha have rapidly changed the direction and condition of the district. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that the establishment of a medical college in Kawardha district is a historic gift for all of us, which will open new dimensions of health facilities in the district. He informed that work is being done rapidly to expand health facilities in the district. He said that a CT scan service has been started at a cost of Rs. 4.5 crore, and 814 CT scans have been performed so far. The capacity of the district hospital has been increased from 100 beds to 220 beds and 50 critical care beds have been installed.

Sonography machines have been installed in Pipariya and Bodla. The Deputy Chief Minister informed that the new medical college will be built on a 40-acre campus, and preparations have been completed to commence medical college studies with 50 seats. Ghotia Road and Gaurav Path are being constructed for easy access to the medical college. He further stated that work is progressing rapidly on several important irrigation projects in the district, including the Jagmadwa Reservoir, Baroda Khurd, and Rampur Barenda Reservoir. Under a Rs. 3.30 crore project by the Electricity Department, more than 2,000 transformers are being installed and eight new substations are being established. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma informed that 24 roads under the Public Works Department, 28 roads under the Chief Minister's Rural Road Scheme, and 76 roads under the Prime Minister's Rural Road Scheme have been approved. He said that 1.8 million houses were approved in the first cabinet meeting after the formation of the government, of which more than 50,000 are in Kawardha district alone. Fifty smart classes have been established in the district's government schools, and ambulance facilities have been provided in Rengakhar and Pipariya. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that today is a very special day for the Kawardha region. A long-standing demand has been fulfilled. He pointed out that at the time of Chhattisgarh's formation, there was only one medical college, and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh is credited with expanding it to 10.
