Under the Bihan Mission, 48 Didis went on an educational tour to Ranchi and Birsa Agricultural University.
Jashpurnagar . Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission "Bihan", an inspirational educational tour program was organized to make the Pashu Sakhis of Jashpur district aware of scientific methods. Under this program, a group of 48 Pashu Sakhis selected from the district reached Ranchi College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Ranchi (Jharkhand) on 22 December 2025, where they were given detailed training on various livelihood activities.
The team included selected animal friends from the Manora, Duldula, Kunkuri, and Jashpur development blocks. During the training, they were briefed on modern techniques, equipment, and management methods related to poultry, cattle, pig, goat, sheep, and rabbit farming, and were also given a tour of related laboratories and training units.
Following the training, the animal companions also visited Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, where they interacted directly with the university's animal scientists and experts to understand the intricacies of animal husbandry from a scientific perspective. During this time, they also observed indigenous animal breeds and took a close look at lab facilities. The entire program was conducted under the leadership of Collector Rohit Vyas and the guidance of District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar.
The main objective of the programme is to enable the Pashu Sakhis to connect the animal husbandry farmers in their respective Gram Panchayats with advanced technologies by giving them information about animal husbandry through scientific methods. While sharing their experiences, the Pashu Sakhis said that they have gained new knowledge from this type of training and tour, due to which they will be able to give better guidance to the animal husbandry farmers of their area and will prove helpful in increasing the production. At the same time, animal scientists of Birsa Agricultural University advised to widely publicize the methods of getting more profit from poultry, cattle, pig, goat and sheep rearing in Jashpur district.
It is noteworthy that such educational tour programs are proposed to be organized for the animal friends and agricultural friends of all eight development blocks of Jashpur district. Its objective is to familiarize the women associated with Bihan with advanced animal husbandry, horticulture, and agricultural techniques from other districts and states, connect them with production and employment, and bring 100% of the women into the category of "Lakhpati Didi."
