Chhattisgarh leads in creating Apaar IDs: Highest percentage achievement among large states
Raipur. Chhattisgarh has achieved significant progress in the APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) system implemented by the Government of India under the National Education Policy 2020, taking the lead among the country's major states. The state has set an example of rapid and effective implementation in providing students with permanent and secure digital educational identities.
As of January 7, 2026, APAAR-IDs have been successfully generated for 50,60,941 students out of a total of 57,10,207 students studying in 57,045 schools in the state. This represents 88.63 percent of the total, the highest percentage-wise among major states. This achievement is considered an important milestone in strengthening the state's digital educational infrastructure.
Talking about the performance at the district level, Apaar-ID has been prepared for 96.40 percent students in Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh and 96.38 percent students in Rajnandgaon district, which is the highest in the state. Apart from this, in districts like Raigarh, Korea, Raipur, Korba, Dhamtari, Durg and Balodabazar, the work of creating Apaar-ID for more than 93 percent students has been completed. Except Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sukma, Balrampur and Dantewada districts, Apaar-ID of more than 80 percent students has been successfully prepared in all the remaining districts.
The process of creating Apaar-IDs for the remaining students is continuously progressing in all districts. As directed by the state government, teachers and relevant officials are prioritizing this task so that no student is left out of this important national initiative. The
Government of India has clearly directed that Apaar-IDs be created for all students by January 31, 2026. The Chhattisgarh government is making timely and coordinated efforts in this direction to ensure the achievement of this goal within the stipulated timeframe.
It is noteworthy that through the Apaar-ID system, each student will receive a permanent digital academic identity, storing their academic achievements, certificates, and credits securely in digital form. This system will play a vital role in strengthening student academic continuity, transparency, and national educational mobility.
