Raipur. In the Chhattisgarh Kharif marketing year 2025-26, rice millers are lifting paddy procured through the district's paddy procurement centers. Some rice millers in the district are overloading the vehicles used to transport paddy from the procurement centers by more than 200 percent. An alert was issued in this regard through the Sattak app, which is being investigated by the department.
Food department officials said that using overloaded vehicles is a violation of the Chhattisgarh paddy procurement policy. In this regard, show cause notices were issued to Messrs Jai Shankar Industries, Kishan Agro Industries, Maa Gayatri Industries, Green Agri Corp Pvt. Ltd., Chhapariyan Agro Industries and Gurunanak Rice Mill. Along with this, a show cause notice was also issued to the committee manager/chairman of procurement centres Tandwa, Nardah, Patewa, Bhainsa, Kosrangi, Seoni and Biladi for allowing the vehicles of the concerned millers to be overloaded. Also, as per the information received in the CCTV alert, it was found that at the paddy procurement centres Seja, Seoni, Farhada, Lakhauli, Tatibandh, Kunra, Ganoud, Bartori, Kholi, Deori, Tamasivani, paddy was being directly transferred from the plastic bags of the farmers to the jute bags of the committee, whereas as per the rules, the committee should make heaps of the farmers' paddy and in case the paddy is found to be of FAQ quality test standard, fill it in jute bags and buy the paddy after weighing it. In this regard, a show cause notice was issued.
