Collector strict on slow pace of development works: Those compromising on quality will face the wrath
Jashpurnagar . Collector Rohit Vyas held a detailed review meeting of the construction works being carried out under the Public Works Department (PWD) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the Collectorate meeting room yesterday. In the meeting, he took information about the status of approved, ongoing, under construction and unstarted works and gave instructions to complete all the pending and ongoing works expeditiously. The Collector gave a clear message to all the officers that there will be no compromise in both the speed and quality of development works in the district and ensure that all the works are completed within the stipulated time limit. During this, officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
While reviewing the works under PWD, Collector Vyas said that all the ongoing construction works in the district including roads, school buildings, tehsil buildings, high school buildings, upgradation works of various buildings, approach roads, family court building, new polytechnic building, rest house building etc. should be completed within the stipulated time limit. He clarified that any kind of negligence or laxity in quality will not be tolerated. Expressing displeasure over the works going beyond the time limit, the Collector asked the concerned officials the reasons for the delay and gave instructions to speed up the construction.
While reviewing the roads operated under the PMGSY, the Collector said that special attention should be paid to the quality of the roads being built under the PM Janman Yojana, so that people in rural areas can have easy and safe transportation. He directed that there should be no complaints regarding the quality of the roads. He also directed that Google entry of newly approved works be mandatory, so that the timely progress of construction work can be effectively monitored.
