Gram Sabha will be held on June 24 in all the Gram Panchayats of the state.

Raipur,/ The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has empowered Gram Panchayats to hold extensive discussions and take decisions on various important public interest issues such as rural development, financial status of Panchayats, housing schemes, employment, social issues and local development works through Gram Sabhas. Gram Sabhas will be held in all Gram Panchayats of Chhattisgarh on June 24, 2026. Various topics, including the permanent waiting list of Awas Plus 2.0, will be discussed in the Gram Sabhas.

A priority list of eligible beneficiaries for housing will be prepared.

The Gram Sabha will specifically review and read the system-generated Permanent Waiting List (PWL) obtained from the Awas Plus 2.0 survey. The Gram Sabha will prepare a priority list of eligible beneficiaries in accordance with government guidelines and SOPs, and will complete the process of resolving claims and objections received from villagers as per the rules. After approval from the Gram Sabha, the Permanent Waiting List will be uploaded to the Awas software.

Information will be given to the villagers regarding VBji Ramji

The Gram Sabha will also discuss compliance reports of the decisions of the previous meeting, review and approval of income and expenditure of the Panchayats, progress of works approved under various schemes, and other developmental topics. In the Gram Sabhas, villagers will also be informed about Vikasit Bharat, Rojgar eva Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB G Ram Ji) and its implementation will be discussed. Under the scheme, information will be given to rural families about increasing the employment guarantee from 100 days to 125 days, better provisions of unemployment allowance, timely payment of wages and Gram Sabha based development schemes.

Appeal to villagers for maximum participation in Gram Sabha

All Gram Panchayats in the state have been appealed to ensure maximum participation of villagers in the Gram Sabha and to increase public participation in decisions related to village development. Important topics such as review of resolutions passed in previous meetings, approval of Panchayat income and expenditure, progress of various development works, waiting list of Awas Plus 2.0 and management of Panchayat assets will be discussed in the Gram Sabha. Along with this, the results of Panchayat Advancement Index 2.0 will also be presented to the villagers.
