30 school buses inspected, drivers and conductors underwent health check-up

Notice issued to 45 absent school bus operators

Raipur, The special inspection of school buses is a safety campaign jointly conducted by the Transport Department, police, and local administration. Its primary objective is to check the fitness of vehicles operated by educational institutions and ensure safe travel for students.

The joint team will inspect the school buses operating in the district from June 15.

To ensure the safe travel of students, a special inspection campaign of school buses was launched in Gariaband district. This campaign was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Honorable Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety and a notification issued in the Chhattisgarh Gazette. On June 15th, a joint team from the Transport Department, Traffic Police, Health Department, and District Magistrate's Office inspected school buses operating in the district, checking safety standards and permit requirements.

30 buses inspected for safety standards

According to information received, 30 of the 75 school buses registered in the district were inspected. During the inspection, the buses were tested for prescribed road safety protocols, necessary equipment, and other safety measures. The Transport Department checked all necessary documents, including pollution certificates, taxes, insurance, fitness certificates, and permits, to ensure no negligence occurred in the transportation of students.

Health check-up of drivers and operators

The Health Department team conducted health checkups for school bus drivers and conductors. This initiative aimed to ensure that the employees providing safe transportation to children are physically fit and able to effectively perform their duties.

Information on fire safety and emergency management

The District Magistrate's Office inspected the fire extinguishers installed in the buses and briefed the drivers and conductors on their use. They also provided guidance on the necessary measures to be taken to protect students in emergency situations.

Action against absent bus operators

During the inspection, 45 school buses were found absent. Show-cause notices have been issued to the school bus operators concerned. Officials clarified that regular inspections and necessary action will continue to ensure compliance with student safety regulations.
