Raipur, July 2026. Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal, under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, today planted a tree at the new Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly complex in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, spreading the message of environmental protection and nature conservation. On this occasion, he urged the people of the state to plant as many trees as possible and pledge to protect them. He emphasized that tree plantation is not only a means of environmental protection but also a responsibility to build a safe and prosperous future for future generations.
Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal stated that the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign is an inspiring campaign to instill in every citizen a sense of respect for their mother and responsibility towards nature. He said that planting a tree is not just a tradition but a pledge to preserve greenery and a clean environment. If every person plants a tree in the name of their mother and takes responsibility for its care, this campaign will transform into a mass movement and play a significant role in making the state greener.
He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, an ambitious campaign to plant one lakh peepal trees is being launched with the aim of developing Nava Raipur as a "People for People City." This initiative is an important step towards environmental protection, biodiversity promotion, clean air, climate balance, and conservation of natural resources.
Mr. Rajesh Agrawal said that trees are the foundation of our lives. They provide us with pure air, shade, rainfall, biodiversity, and environmental balance. Therefore, planting trees is as important as protecting them. He appealed to the people of the state that every family should plant at least one sapling and pledge to nurture it until it becomes a tree. This will be a true service to our motherland, nature, and future generations. He
said, “Let us all join the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign and plant as many trees as possible, protect them, and ensure our active participation in building a green, clean, and prosperous Chhattisgarh.”
