Compassionate appointment to dependents of deceased employees of dissolved Transport Corporation

Policy making committee formed

Raipur, July 2026/The Chhattisgarh government has taken a major and sensitive decision in the interest of the families of the deceased employees of the dissolved Transport Corporation under the Central Infrastructure Development Corporation (CIDC). On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, it has been decided to formulate a new policy to provide compassionate appointment to the dependent members of these deceased employees. To formulate this policy, the state government has constituted a seven-member inter-departmental committee under the chairmanship of the Secretary, General Administration Department, whose order has been issued by the General Administration Department.

Why was there a need for a new policy?

According to the General Administration Department, previously, the dependents of these deceased employees were given compassionate appointments to the post of Shikshak Karmi Class-III. However, after the Shikshak Karmi post was abolished, the Water Resources Department issued an order on December 13, 2022, providing for compassionate appointments to vacant Class III and IV posts in the CIDC. Due to the lack of vacant posts in the CIDC, many important cases of compassionate appointments had been pending for a long time. This resulted in severe financial hardship for the dependent families.

Committee formed on the instructions of the Chief Minister, report to be submitted within 1 month

Considering the sensitivity of the issue, the High Court's directives, and employee interests, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has directed the development of a new policy to provide a permanent solution to this problem. The seven-member high-level committee constituted will submit its detailed report to the government within one month. Based on the committee's report, final approval will be sought from the Cabinet (Council of Ministers), after which the new policy will be formally notified.

The main objective of the government

The state government's clear objective is to ensure that the dependents of deceased employees do not face any financial hardship. With the implementation of this new policy, cases pending for years will be resolved expeditiously, and affected families will receive the right to compassionate appointment and financial support as soon as possible.
