Coal scam: Major reversal in coal scam court, two judges removed
New Delhi: The special court hearing cases related to the coal scam has undergone a major change. The Supreme Court has approved the removal of Special Judges Sunaina Sharma and Dheeraj Mor from the court, responding to a request from the Delhi High Court.
Sunaina Sharma assumed the post in January this year, while Dheeraj Mor had been a special judge since April 2025. The High Court had requested their transfer, citing both as more suitable for other responsibilities
Virendra Kumar Kharta will replace Sunaina Sharma, and Ajay Garg will replace Dheeraj Mor as special judge. The High Court issued the transfer and posting orders on Friday.
However, both the removed judges have not been given new judicial postings as of now and have been attached to the office of the Principal District and CBI Sessions Judge.
The special thing is that in the cases in which both the judges have reserved the decisions, they have been instructed to pronounce the relevant decisions before leaving .
