Raipur, August 15, 2026/ On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated a seven-day photo exhibition organized by the Public Relations Department at the historic Town Hall at Kachari Chowk in the capital Raipur today. This exhibition, which encompasses Chhattisgarh's contribution to the freedom struggle, the valor and sacrifice of immortal fighters, the glorious journey of 'Vande Mataram' for 150 years, and the achievements of good governance and development in the state, effectively presents Chhattisgarh's journey from past glory to present achievements and future aspirations.
Chief Minister Shri Sai visited various sections of the exhibition and showed special interest in the rare photographs, documents, and informational materials displayed there. He said that many brave sons of Chhattisgarh fought and sacrificed for the country's independence. It is our responsibility to pass on their contributions and inspiring tales of patriotism to the new generation. Such exhibitions not only introduce the youth to our glorious history but also strengthen their patriotism, sense of duty, and devotion to the country.
The Chief Minister said that this exhibition not only reminds us of history, but also strengthens our resolve to build a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India by drawing inspiration from this heritage. On the one hand, it features the immortal tales of the struggle and sacrifice of freedom fighters, while on the other, it also showcases a picture of a changing Chhattisgarh through public welfare schemes, good governance, modern infrastructure, and new technology.

A special highlight of the exhibition is the section dedicated to the glorious 150-year journey of the national anthem "Vande Mataram." From its composition to its establishment as a national awakening mantra during the freedom movement, the exhibition presents the journey through historical context and photographs.
During the freedom movement, "Vande Mataram" played a crucial role in uniting the nation and instilling a spirit of sacrifice and self-denial for the motherland. Its sound infused new energy into freedom fighters and revolutionaries. By highlighting this 150-year historical journey in the exhibition, a new generation has been introduced to the national sentiment and historical significance of "Vande Mataram."

The exhibition showcases Chhattisgarh's role in the freedom struggle in detail.
