80th Independence Day celebrated with great enthusiasm

17 platoons performed an impressive march past in the parade.

Raipur, August 15, 2026 / Independence Day celebrations were held with great enthusiasm and dignity at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur, the capital. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai hoisted the flag at 9 a.m. and took the salute at the parade. The Chief Minister also read his message to the people of the state.

In the ceremony, 17 platoons mesmerized the spectators by performing a grand march past. This march past was led by Indian Police Service officer Shri Vimal Kumar Pathak. This time the police contingent of Bihar state participated in the parade in the invited category. The 2IC of the parade was Shri Nishant Gaurav Kurre. Border Security Force, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, Chhattisgarh Armed Force (men-women), Chhattisgarh Police, Jail Police, City Army (men-women), NCC (boys-girls), band platoon, cavalry and dog squad were included in the parade. Women bag piper band also gave an attractive performance in the ceremony.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai honoured the best teams in the Independence Day parade. In the Central Forces category, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police contingent got the first position. The ITBP contingent was awarded with Rs 5,000 and a trophy. The Border Security Force came second and the Central Reserve Police Force came third. The Border Security Force contingent was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 3,000 and the CRPF contingent was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 and a trophy.

In the state forces category, the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (Women) secured first place. The winners were awarded a cash prize of five thousand rupees and a trophy. The Chhattisgarh Jail Police team came in second, receiving a cash prize of three thousand rupees and a trophy. The Chhattisgarh Armed Police Force (Men) secured third place, receiving a cash prize of two thousand rupees and a trophy.

In the Contingent NCC category, the first position was secured by the NCC Girls team and the second position by the NCC Boys team. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai encouraged both the team commanders by presenting them trophies. On this occasion, Parade-II-IC Shri Nishant Gaurav Kurre, Parade Commander Shri Vimal Kumar Pathak, Commander of the Women Bagpiper team Smt. Sonbati Thakur, Commander of the Cavalry team Shri Anil Yadav, Commander of the Dog team Shri Raj Kapoor, along with Dr. Anuradha Dubey and Shri Manish Parmanand for the parade presentation were also given certificates of appreciation.
