Japanese students impressed by NIT Raipur's startups and technological innovations

Raipur, September 2026/ A 17-member student delegation from Ehime University, Japan, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at the Chief Minister's residence office in the capital, Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Sai had a cordial conversation with the students who had come to Chhattisgarh on a three-day educational tour under the India-Japan Inter-Exchange Programme. During this, various topics were discussed, including the historical and cultural relations between India and Japan, Buddhist heritage, education, research, technological innovation, startups and the increasing dialogue between the youth of both countries.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while warmly welcoming the Japanese students to Chhattisgarh, said that the friendship between India and Japan is deeply rooted in the ancient cultural and spiritual heritage of both countries. Over time, this relationship has expanded beyond culture and spirituality to encompass numerous areas of education, science, technology, innovation, and economic cooperation.

The Chief Minister said that India and Japan today play a vital role in global development, blending tradition and modernity beautifully. The two countries share a strong foundation of mutual trust and respect. This kind of educational and cultural exchange between youth and students will further strengthen this relationship for generations to come.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that India is the land of Lord Buddha. His message of peace, compassion, friendship, and human welfare has influenced many countries around the world, and the culture of Japan also reflects the deep influence of Buddhist philosophy. This shared spiritual heritage binds India and Japan together through a unique cultural bond.

Informing the Japanese students about Chhattisgarh's rich archaeological heritage, he mentioned important sites such as Sirpur, Mainpat, and Bhongapal. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Sirpur, located on the banks of the Mahanadi River, is a wonderful center of Chhattisgarh's ancient civilization, art, architecture, and Buddhist heritage. The archaeological remains found here tell the story of the state's glorious history and the integration of various cultures.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is continuously striving to give Chhattisgarh's historical, archaeological, and cultural heritage a new identity in the country and the world. Planned efforts are also being made to develop Sirpur as a world-class historical and tourist destination. Our endeavor is to encourage students, researchers, and tourists from various countries to visit Chhattisgarh, learn about its heritage, and establish a lasting connection of knowledge and culture with the state.
