On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, a march was organized in the capital Raipur today as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, with the pledge of a drug-free India. Governor Ramen Deka joined the march and gave citizens the message of building a drug-free society.
Governor Deka paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by garlanding his statue in the Town Hall complex. He then participated in a march that began from the Town Hall. During the march, a wreath was also laid at the statue of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, paying homage to him.
Starting from Town Hall, Raipur, the march reached Ambedkar Chowk, where Governor Deka paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar by laying a wreath at his statue. He emphasized the importance of collective participation and public awareness in building a drug-free India.
Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Purandar Mishra, and Sunil Soni, along with a large number of youth, women, students, and citizens of the city, participated in the march. During the march, participants pledged to stay away from drugs and make society drug-free.
