Raipur October 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the historic Rajshahi Dussehra festival organized at Rainibhatha of Bilaigarh Nagar Panchayat in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district. On this occasion, while wishing Vijayadashmi to the people of the area, he made five important announcements for the development of Bilaigarh and expansion of civic amenities. The Chief Minister announced opening of Additional Collector's office in Bilaigarh, construction of Gaurav Path from Bus Stand to Higher Secondary School at a cost of Rs. 3 crore, construction of bridge on the road leading to Rajmahal, Muktidham in Ward No. 15 of Nagar Panchayat and construction of Dome Shed near Maa Samlai Mata Temple.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that these development works will strengthen urban infrastructure and public amenities, while expanding administrative facilities in Bilaigarh. The opening of the Additional Collector's office will eliminate the need for residents to travel far for administrative work, and facilitate quick resolution of local problems. The Gaurav Path, constructed at a cost of Rs. 3 crore, will enhance the city's beauty and improve transportation. Similarly, the construction of a bridge, Muktidham, and a dome shed on the Rajmahal Road will be crucial in meeting local needs.
Chief Minister Shri Sai began his address with chants of praise for Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, Pawanputra Hanuman, Maa Jagdamba, Bharat Mata, and Chhattisgarh Mata. He said that Bilaigarh's historic royal Dussehra is not just a celebration, but a vibrant expression of our rich cultural heritage, religious faith, and social unity. The royal family has preserved this glorious tradition for generations, and even today, the people of the region participate with the same devotion and enthusiasm. He congratulated the royal family, the organizing committee, and the people of Bilaigarh for continuing this tradition and expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.
The Chief Minister said that Vijayadashami gives the eternal message of victory of Dharma over Adharma, justice over injustice and truth over falsehood. Lord Shri Ram established Dharma on this day by ending the arrogant and cruel Ravana. We burn the effigy of Ravana every year, but the real significance of Vijayadashami lies in ending the Ravana within us in the form of lust, anger, pride, greed and ego. The ideals of Lord Shri Ram inspire us to follow the path of dignity, duty, justice and public welfare. Strengthening love, harmony and brotherhood in society is the true message of this great festival.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the relationship between Lord Shri Ram and Chhattisgarh is very intimate and ancient. Chhattisgarh is the birthplace of Mother Kaushalya and the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram. During his exile, Lord Shri Ram spent a long time in the Dandakaranya region of Chhattisgarh. The devotion of Mother Shabari at Shivrinarayan and the sacred Triveni Sangam of Rajim are symbols of our rich spiritual heritage. In Chhattisgarh, the unique tradition of worshipping Lord Shri Ram as a nephew is still alive in our culture.
