Instructions for payment of wages to all workers before Diwali

Raipur. October 2026. Secretary of Public Works Department, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Bansal, today reviewed the progress of construction and development works being carried out by the Public Works Department in Rajnandgaon. He took detailed information about the approved, under construction and pending roads, bridges and building construction works in Rajnandgaon district. He gave instructions to complete the old and pending construction works by the coming December. He asked to expedite the work by starting the construction works stopped due to rain. He gave instructions to pay special attention to quality and time limit in the construction works.

The department secretary directed that contractors who fail to meet deadlines and submit their work to the blacklist, taking action against them as per the rules. He directed officials to regularly monitor all construction projects to ensure progress. Rajnandgaon Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mr. Durga Prasad Adhikari, and Public Works Department Chief Engineer Mr. V.K. Bhatphari were also present at the meeting.

While reviewing road construction, widening, strengthening and repair works, Mr. Bansal directed the officials to complete the road works on priority so that citizens can get the facility of smooth and safe movement. He directed to regularly review the progress of the roads under construction and to promptly resolve the technical and administrative problems arising in the works. He asked the officials to regularly inspect the construction sites and ensure the quality of the works as per the prescribed technical standards. He directed not to be negligent and not to cause unnecessary delay in the construction works.

Mr. Bansal also reviewed the construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings. He directed that work on ongoing buildings be expedited and pending projects be completed on priority. He directed that the physical and financial progress of construction projects be regularly reviewed and that necessary action be taken to identify the reasons for projects lacking expected progress.

The Secretary of the Public Works Department directed the construction workers to ensure their wages are paid before the Diwali festival. He emphasized that workers' wages must be paid on time and that no negligence should be tolerated. He directed department officials to review the wage payment status and take necessary action.

The departmental secretary stated in the meeting that the construction work undertaken by the Public Works Department is directly linked to the amenities of citizens and the development of the area. Therefore, all officers should work with utmost responsibility and seriousness. He directed them to ensure quality, timeliness, and transparency in construction work, and to expedite the work with better coordination at the departmental level.
