Major prostitution racket busted: Akshay Resort raided, 17 accused including 8 Thai women arrested

Surat: The district police have taken strict action against immoral activities operating under the guise of resorts and farmhouses in Surat Rural. Following the instructions of Range Inspector General Premveer Singh and Superintendent of Police Rajesh Gadhiya, the police raided the "Akshay Resort," located within the boundaries of Jothan village in Olpad taluka. During the raid, a total of nine accused, including eight Thai women, were arrested. Police have also busted an international prostitution racket. Based on reliable information, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), the Local Police Bureau (LCB), and the Olpad police conducted a joint operation. Police sent a "dummy customer" to confirm that foreign women were being forced into immoral activities. Upon receiving sufficient evidence, the police raided the site and apprehended the eight Thai women, the customers, and the operators. Investigation revealed that resort owner Akshay Kanchanlal Bhandari had provided rooms to mastermind Sunil Yadav for ₹2,000 per day. Customers were charged between 2,000 and 8,000 rupees for sex with foreign women. This network stretched from Surat city to Olpad. Police seized goods worth 20.62 lakh rupees during the operation.
