Arms licenses of arms licensees living within Jashpur district border area suspended till the end of the election process.
Jashpur: To ensure fair and peaceful general elections, District Magistrate and Licensing Authority Rohit Vyas has issued orders for depositing firearms from licensees in Jashpur district border area.So that there is no atmosphere of fear and terror during the election process and misuse of these weapons can be prevented.Under sub-clause (b) of section 17 sub-section (3), section 21 of the Arms Act 1959, all the arms licensees living within the Jashpur district border area are required to deposit their firearms in the nearest police station within 07 days will be.
Apart from this, the licensee can also deposit his weapons at the arms dealer of Jashpur Nagar, who has the license to deposit arms. The person who deposits the arms with the arms dealer will also provide information about the same in the concerned police station.This order will also be applicable to the licensees coming from outside the district and residing in the district. All licensees will be able to get their weapons back after the end of the code of conduct
