Raipur । Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep condolences on the death of many people in a road accident in Raipur.He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

PM Modi also announced that an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund,Whereas the injured will be provided relief amount of Rs 50 thousand.

Raipur: The faces of the villagers lit up with joy on finding CM Vishnu Dev Sai suddenly amongst them. The villagers immediately plucked flowers from the trees and made a bouquet to welcome the CM. After which the villagers got emotional after meeting CM Sai and while speaking, told the Chief Minister about the situation of the village.The villagers told everything in detail to CM Shri Sai who had come here to know the ground reality of implementation of government schemes.

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai's helicopter landed in Mathmour, a remote village in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. Here Mr. Sai suddenly reached Mathmour. This village is located on the border of Madhya Pradesh. Which is known as a tribal dominated village.On hearing the sound of the helicopter, villagers rushed to the venue, and when the CM got down from the helicopter, villagers welcomed him with slogans of Zindabad

Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.: The Chief Minister has made many announcements in the Chaupal held in Mathamour, in which a 33 KV substation will be constructed in Kuwarpur. Road will be constructed from Phuljhar to Chandela under PMGSY.Roads will be constructed from Tilauli to Darritola, Sanbora to Pando, Kuwarpur to Gajar, Parapar Tola to Chandela. Announcement has been made to construct a building for the Naib Tehsildar office in Kuwarpur.Announcement has been made to set up camps for resolving revenue related issues and approval of a community building in Mathamour

Raipur : 17 April 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today chaired an important meeting of the Chhattisgarh Cabinet at Mahanadi Bhavan, wherein several key decisions were taken to promote public welfare, economic growth, and industrial development in the state.

* The Cabinet has approved a landmark decision in the interest of youth preparing for competitive examinations. Local residents of Chhattisgarh appearing for examinations or interviews conducted by the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board, and Special Junior Staff Selection Boards in Surguja, Bastar, and Bilaspur will be reimbursed the examination fees paid by them. This measure aims to encourage serious candidates, increase their participation, and reduce the number of non-serious or ineligible applicants, thereby minimizing financial losses to the state exchequer.

* In a major step to support small traders, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Outstanding Tax, Interest, and Penalty Settlement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. Under this, the state government will waive Value Added Tax (VAT) liabilities up to ₹25,000 for cases pending for over 10 years. This initiative is expected to benefit over 40,000 traders and reduce more than 62,000 litigation cases, creating a conducive environment for small businesses.

* The Cabinet has granted approval for the establishment of a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The project, under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is estimated to cost ₹271.18 crore, comprising ₹21.18 crore for land acquisition, ₹200 crore for building construction, and ₹50 crore for machinery and furniture. The institute will provide new opportunities for the state’s youth in fashion education and supply technically skilled human resources to the fashion industry. Established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, NIFT is a premier institution with 17 campuses across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion design, management, and technology, collaborating with the industry to provide practical experience and placement opportunities.

* To promote sustainable waste management, the Cabinet has agreed to allot government land at concessional lease rates for the establishment of Bio-CNG plants to process bio-waste and agricultural waste in urban local bodies. The Urban Administration Department and respective municipal corporations have been authorized to undertake further actions.

* The Cabinet has decided that sugar required for distribution under the Public Distribution System from April 2025 to March 2026 will be procured from cooperative sugar factories in the state. The purchase price has been fixed at ₹37,000 per tonne (ex-factory, excluding GST).

* To promote local employment and micro-small industries, the Cabinet has granted in-principle approval to Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) for setting up a heavy earth-moving equipment manufacturing plant in the state. The project will be supported by the allocation of 100 acres of land at a token rate.

These decisions reflect the state government’s commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and economic empowerment across various sectors.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the oath taking ceremony of Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries organized at Shaheed Smarak Auditorium in the capital Raipur.On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries has been functioning for 62 years and 12 lakh traders are associated with it. For the first time in the history of this biggest traders' organization of the state, elections have been conducted unanimously.Which is a proof of the unity of the organization. This organization should continue this tradition in future as well. He said that important decisions have been taken by the state government for the development of industry and trade in the state.The Chief Minister said that our government has always given priority to small traders. The limit of e-way bill has been increased from 50 thousand to 1 lakh rupees. We have reduced VAT on petrol by Rs 1 per liter.Giving relief to traders, VAT liability up to Rs 25,000 has been waived in 10-year-old pending cases. 40,000 traders of the state are getting the benefit of this.

Purnima Chandrakar, mother of Durg Rural MLA and Chhattisgarh State Backward Classes Development Authority Vice-President Lalit Chandrakar.In his condolence message issued here today, he said that the news of the demise of Shri Chandrakar's mother is extremely sad. The demise of the mother is an irreparable loss for the entire family.My condolences are with Shri Chandrakar and his family. Chief Minister Shri Sai has prayed to God for peace of the departed soul and to provide strength to the bereaved family.

Jashpur. With the guidance of Collector Rohit Vyas and the cooperation of the members of Vigyan Bharti, the activities of Vibha Science Club are to be conducted in Jashpur district from the academic session 2025-26.For this, a special training of Vibha Science Club was organized for science teachers in Kunkuri block today. The objective of this training was to increase interest in science in schools and to make teachers aware of the latest methods.

More than 120 science teachers participated

More than 120 science teachers from Kunkuri block took part in the training, while some teachers from Kansabel block also participated in it. The program lasted from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

In the training, teachers were told about 4C skills - critical thinking, creativity, comprehension and communication. Along with this, detailed training was given on 22 learning skills.Teachers were also told how to form, run, plan activities and carry out the assessment process of science clubs in schools.During the training, it was also informed that if required, guidance from ISRO scientists will also be made available to the students in the future, which will give a new direction to their scientific thinking.

The work of maintenance of damaged hand pumps in summer is being done by the Public Health Engineering Department, Jashpur.Under which, repair work was carried out within one hour of receiving the information in the villages of Daltoli, Saraitoli, Konpara, Matipahad Chharra in Farasbahar development block and Kukurbhuka, Birimdega, Chikanipani in Pathalgaon development block.

Raipur । A two-Day National Training Programme comprising 2 DEOs, 12 EROs & 217 BLOs from West Bengal commenced at IIIDEM today. This initiative forms part of the broader training plan for the capacity augmentation of grassroot election functionaries as envisaged by the Commission during the CEO’s Conference held at IIIDEM on the 4th of March.

ECI also concluded a one-day Orientation Programme for Media Nodal Officers, Social Media Nodal Officers, and District Public Relations Officers at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi, today. The orientation was aimed at enhancing coordination and preparedness of election officials in an evolving media landscape.  

Media Officers from 28 States and 8 UTs participated in the orientation programme which aims to develop an effective communication strategy to ensure proactive information dissemination, counter misinformation, and promote voter awareness through various media platforms, in accordance with the legal framework i.e. the RP Act 1950 & 1951; Registration of Elector Rules 1960, Conduct of Election Rules 1961 and the instructions issued by ECI from time to time. 

In his address, CEC Shri Gyanesh Kumar while acknowledging the pivotal role of media as a key stakeholder in the electoral process, emphasized the importance of factual, timely and transparent communication in upholding the trust of voters in the electoral processes in a digitally mediated information world. He underlined that media officers must be proactive in communicating accurate information and rise to the challenge of ensuring that voters are correctly informed and empowered to discern facts from narratives without factual basis.
