Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Minimata had an incomparable persona. Known for her simplicity and values, Minimata dedicated her entire life to the welfare of humankind. She played an important role in getting the Prevention of Untouchability Act passed in the Parliament, to protect the civil rights of Dalits. She not only advocated eradication of social evils such as child marriage and dowry system in the society, but also raised the issue in the Parliament.
Mr. Baghel was addressing the Minimata Memorial Day and Pratibha Samman Samaroh at Shaheed Smarak Bhawan in the capital city Raipur today. This event was organized by Guru Ghasidas Sahitya and Sanskriti Akademi, Chhattisgarh Satnami Samaj. At the event, Mr. Baghel released a special cover issued by the Post Department on the occasion of Minimata's 50th death anniversary.
In his address to the program, Chief Minister further said that Minimata was the epitome of women power and dignity. Her strong leadership skills gave her a distinct identity among the national leaders. She reached the peak of popularity and recognition because of her simplicity and demeanor. As the first female Member of Parliament (MP) of Chhattisgarh, her contribution towards upliftment of Dalits and women will always be remembered.
Chief Minister said that Minimata actively participated in the works of social reforms and betterment of every section of society. She had good knowledge of Assamese, English, Bengali, Hindi and Chhattisgarhi languages. She was the embodiment of truth, non-violence and love. She was married to Guru Agamdas, the fourth descendant of Gurubaba Ghasidas ji. After marriage, she came to Chhattisgarh from Assam as Guru Mata, since then she devoted her whole life for the development of this region. After independence, the first election to the Lok Sabha was held in 1951-52. Minimata was a member of the Lok Sabha from 1951 to 1971 as an MP. She was elected the first female MP of Lok Sabha from the Bilaspur-Durg-Raipur reserved seat in undivided Madhya Pradesh. Thereafter, she won Lok Sabha elections four times from Janjgir Lok Sabha constituency reserved for Scheduled Castes in the delimitation.
Administration and Labour Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, while addressing the program, thanked Chief Minister on behalf of Satnami Samaj for naming Giroudpuri as Guru Ghasidas Giroudpuri Dham. In the program, Chief Minister also felicitated the talented students and people of Satnami Samaj, for their excellent works and achievements. On this occasion, Raipur Rural MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Raipur Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, Charoda Mayor Mr. Nirmal Kosale and a large number of followers of Satnam Panth were present.
Nitish takes oath as Bihar CM for record eight time

Patna, Aug 10 (PTI) JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar on Wednesday took oath as Bihar chief minister for a record eighth time in a no-frills ceremony at Raj Bhavan, a day after snapping ties with the BJP-led NDA and joining hands with the RJD to form a Mahagathbandhan' government.
Kumar was sworn in besides RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, who is likely to be designated as his deputy. A notification is likely to be issued tonight, naming him as the deputy chief minister.
Other cabinet ministers will be sworn in later once the three main alliance partners -- the JD(U), RJD and Congress -- decide on the number of berths and the legislators who will be made ministers.
Kumar is likely to retain the all-important Home portfolio, while the RJD may get most of the departments that were previously with the BJP, a highly-placed source said.
He said an in-principle agreement has been reached about the composition of the new cabinet, which is likely to have 35 members or more , drawn from Kumar's JD(U), the RJD and the Congress.
Euphoric scenes were witnessed outside the Raj Bhavan and residences of Kumar and Yadav, as hundreds of supporters of JD(U) and RJD celebrated beating drums, bursting crackers and distributing `laddus' (sweetmeats).
Talking to reporters shortly after he was administered the oath of office by Governor Phagu Chauhan, Kumar rubbished BJP's claim that the new government will not last its full term, and said his former ally "will be back where they were after the 2015 assembly polls" when the NDA could get less than 50 seats in the 243-strong assembly.
Meanwhile, leaders of the BJP, which is the second largest party in the assembly with 77 MLAs, were conspicuous by their absence at the swearing-in ceremony.
We have received no invitation. We would have, in any case, not liked to witness formation of a government which has been installed after betraying the people of Bihar, who voted for the NDA in the last assembly polls, and is an insult to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who stuck to his promise of backing Kumar for another term, despite the JD(U)'s poor performance, BJP leader Sushil Modi told a press conference.
"Nitish Kumar has been in a habit of ditching allies. He will not be loyal to the RJD as well, and try to break that party taking advantage of Lalu Prasad's ill-health... We are accused of betraying our allies by the JD(U) which cites the example of Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena came apart. And we were not its allies then," he said.
Back in the reckoning as a potential secular alternative to Narendra Modi, which the disjointed opposition could project, Kumar said he had no daawedari" (claims) when asked about prime ministerial ambitions, but quipped they should remember 2014 is past. They need to worry ( chinta karni chahiye') about 2024 .
Sushil Modi also claimed that Tejashwi Yadav as the leader of the numerically bigger party will try to act as the de facto CM .
He will also be under pressure to deliver on the promise of 10 lakh government jobs he had been making to the people of the state. This will unsettle Nitish and the internal contradictions will cause the government to collapse before 2025, the former deputy CM said.
Kumar, however, asserted that the new government will run fine and fulfil all the promises made to the people of Bihar.
They (the BJP) are worried that they may be back to the same level they were at in 2015, the chief minister said, referring to the assembly polls JD(U), RJD and Congress had fought together in which the BJP-led NDA was trounced.
Later, the Rajya Sabha member also claimed that Kumar wanted to become the vice president and he dumped the BJP after the party failed to accommodate his ambitions.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel launched Community Forest Resource Rights Awareness Campaign

A campaign to raise awareness regarding Community Forest Resource Rights will be run in the state from August 15 this year to January 26, 2023. The aim is to make the scheduled tribes and other traditional forest dwellers aware of their rights on the forest land.
Meanwhile, guidelines for implementation of Community Forest Resource Rights have been prepared at the state level and workshops were organized for field workers, but information and procedures were still not accessible to the Gram Sabhas. Keeping this in view, Chief Minister felt the need for running a special campaign to make Gram Sabhas aware in this regard. The Foundation for Ecological Security in collaboration with the forest and tribal development department prepared a calendar for this campaign to educate the Gram Sabhas about the aforementioned procedures. This calendar was launched by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on August 9 on the occasion of World Tribal Day.
The campaign will be kicked off during the celebrations of the 75th year of Independence Day of India, reciting about the Forest Rights Act in all the Gram Panchayats. A target has been set to have a discussion on community forest resource rights in the Gram Sabhas of all forest-based villages across the state by January 2023. As a part of this campaign, Gram Sabha will be organized in August for launching claims, talks with the Chief Minister through ‘Lokvaani’ in September, proposals in the Gram Sabha in October, programmes on the State Foundation Day in November, Haat Bazaar in December and discussions in the Gram Sabhas in the month of January. All the voluntary organizations indulged in this work for a long time will join the campaign.
Meanwhile, campaign song, awareness posters, and a film based on the efforts of Charagaon Gram Sabha were screened during the launch of this campaign in a programme organized here by the Tribal Development Department on Tuesday.
In the programme, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel directed the Tribal Development and Forest Departments to conduct this campaign across the state. He also urged the voluntary organizations to make the campaign a success. Chhattisgarh is said to be the only state targeting to recognize community forest resource rights and making consistent efforts to empower Gram Sabhas for the same.
Foundation for Ecological Security Executive Director Sanjay Joshi said the organization work toward a rights-based management system that fosters community ownership. Through this, efforts are also made for the conservation of nature and natural resources. In keeping with the spirit, the organization in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh government is trying to strengthen the management of community forest resource rights at the field level.
At present, claims of Community Forest Resource Rights have been approved in a total of 3801 villages in the state. These include claims of 15, 32,316.866 hectares. In community forest resource rights, the right of forest land within the limits of a traditional village is given to the Gram Sabhas giving them the responsibility for the protection, conservation, and management of the forest area concerned. The Gram Sabhas constitute the Forest Rights Committee for submission of a claim and can constitute the Forest Management Committee for the management on receipt of the claim.
For claims, village elderly, women, representatives of all residing tribes along with Patwaris, forest guards, and panchayat secretaries identify the customary boundary and share the information with the neighboring village. Along with this, a related map, village settlement sheet, statement of elders and no-objection certificate of the village adjoining the neighboring border are attached. Following this, the verification is done by the subdivision level committee. If everything is found correct, it is sent to the district-level, committee. If everything is found to be ok, then the community forest resource rights letter is issued.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today praised Chhattisgarh’s Godhan Nyay Yojana in the 7th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, saying that the scheme is in the interest of the farmers as vermi-compost prepared from cowdung helps in increasing the productivity of the field.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who attended the meeting, elaborated on the scheme and added that the state government has also started procuring cow urine to produce natural fertilizers.
He suggested that agricultural research institutes should be given the responsibility of providing free seeds of newly developed crop varieties, mini kits and breeder seeds on a large scale to ensure crop diversification and increase in the production and productivity of pulses, oilseeds.
Addressing the meeting of the seventh Governing Council of NITI Aayog here under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, the chief minister said Chhattisgarh is self-sufficient in the production of food grains and has taken many innovative measures to increase the production of pulses and oilseeds in the state.
Elaborating on the steps being taken by the Chhattisgarh government, he said to promote crop diversification the state government has started implementation of Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Protsaahan Yojana, under which a provision has been made to provide Rs 10,000 per hectare to farmers who cultivate pulses, oilseeds or do plantation instead of paddy. Along with Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Chhattisgarh Millet Mission has also been constituted.
The chief minister said that NITI Aayog has appreciated the better performance of the aspirational districts of the state in the last three and a half years. But there are still resource problems in the state, which should be resolved. He also urged for relaxation under Forest Conservation Act in setting up of 5 MW solar power plants in 10 aspirational districts of Chhattisgarh.
Regarding the implementation of the National Education Policy, the Chief Minister said that many important steps have been taken in this direction in the state. With the objective of providing good quality infrastructure, equipment, educational and co-curricular activities in the government schools, the state government has started Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium Schools in Chhattisgarh.
While speaking on the agenda of urban administration, the chief minister said that Chhattisgarh has won the state clean survey for three consecutive years. Better work has been done in solid waste management in the urban areas of the state.
He also suggested that MGNREGA should be implemented in rural areas located near cities and cities with population less than 20 thousand. In addition to the agenda points related to the meeting, the Chief Minister also spoke on various schemes and topics related to the state interest.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also reiterated the state’s demand of GST compensation, transferring of the amounts collected as 'additional levy' from coal block companies and reimbursement of expenditure of Rs 11 thousand 828 crores made by the state government for eradication of Naxalism.
The chief minister said that there has been a loss of revenue to the states due to the GST tax system, the Center has not made arrangements to compensate the loss of revenue of about Rs 5000 crores to the state in the coming year, so the GST compensation grant should be continued for the next 5 years even after June 2022.
He said Chhattisgarh has received less shares of central taxes by Rs 13,089 crore in the Union Budget of the last three years, resulting in extreme pressure on the resources of the state. In the coming budget, the share of central taxes should be given to the state completely.
He also demanded that Rs 4,140 crore deposited with the center at the rate of Rs 294 per tonne on coal mining from coal block companies should be transferred to Chhattisgarh soon. Mentioning that about 65 per cent of the mineral revenue of the state is the source of iron ore mines operating in the state. Therefore, revision of royalty rates is necessary in the financial interest of the state. He requested for revision in the rates of royalty for coal and other major minerals.
He also requested for speedy action on other pending demands of the state government including refund of deposits in New Pension Scheme and ensuring availability of jute gunny bags.

Congress protest: Rahul, Priyanka, detained by Delhi Police

Congress parliamentarians began their protest march from Parliament to Rashtrapati Bhavan over the rising figures of inflation and unemployment and were subsequently stopped by the police.

As the Congress workers started protesting against the government over inflation, GST and unemployment, several Congress MPs including Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor were detained by Delhi Police during a protest against the Central government.
Besides them, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also detained by the Delhi Police.
Rahul, while speaking to the media accused the Delhi Police of manhandling the partymen.
“We are standing here on the issues of price rise and unemployment. We wanted to move forward but the police did not allow us,” Gandhi said.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was detained from outside the party headquarters as she tried to lead a protest march towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence.
She had crossed the three-feet tall barricade by jumping it. As she tried to move forward, she was stopped by the women police personnel and subsequently the Congress General Secretary sat in the middle of the road in protest.

All the Congress MPs who were dressed in black to register their protest had planned to hold a demonstration outside the residence of President Droupadi Murmu.

Though the Delhi Police had denied the permission to the Congress and section 144 was imposed in the New Delhi district area, the party still carried on with the protest. The police were not allowing the protesting lawmakers to move forward towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today attended the grand event of 'Kanwar Yatra' at Maruti Mangalam Complex, Gudhiyari, Raipur. At the onset, Chief Minister performed Kanwar Puja with mantras and rituals, and led the procession of devotees joining Kanwar Yatra. Before leading the procession, Chief Minister performed customary rituals at Machchi Talab Hanuman Temple and prayed for happiness and prosperity of the people of the state. Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay was also present on the occasion. Hundreds of female and male devotees thronged to the tune of hymns at Kanwar Yatra. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today reviewed the implementation of Forest Rights Act, 2006 in the state. He directed the officials concerned to prepare an effective action plan for the management of forestland distributed under Community Forest Rights and Community Forest Resource Rights. Officials have been directed to run a special drive to redress the claims of community forest resource rights, and to organize Gram Sabha Awareness Campaign for this purpose. Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Advisors to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Tiwari and Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain and Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu also attended the meeting held at Chief Minister's residence office.Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Department, Mr. D.D. Singh told in the review meeting that so far, four lakh 54 thousand 415 individual forest rights letters, 45 thousand 847 community forest rights letters and 3731 community forest resource rights letters have been distributed in the forest areas of the state, thereby allotting more than three lakh 70 thousand hectares, one lakh 98 thousand hectares and 15 lakh 32 thousand hectares respectively to the forest dwellers. He informed that so far, three lakh 81 thousand 667 individual forest rights letters, 36 thousand 674 community forest rights letters and 2965 community forest resource rights letters have been registered in the records of revenue and forest departments. About five lakh 15 thousand hectare area that has been distributed through one lakh 83 thousand 604 individual forest rights letters have also been uploaded on Bhuiya portal.
It was informed in the meeting that under the Forest Rights Act, 23 thousand 643 beneficiaries of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (Special Protected Tribes) have been given individual forest rights letters. People belonging to these tribes have also been provided 1758 Community Forest Rights letters and 106 Community Forest Resources Right Letters. Under the Act, 17 thousand 209 widow, unmarried and divorced tribal women across the state have also been awarded individual forest rights letters. Officials said that in order to remove the errors in the Forest Rights Letters and to bring uniformity in all the districts, the draft of the Model Forest Rights Letter has been issued to all the districts. In the review meeting, Principal Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department, Mr. Manoj Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi, Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Mr. Prasanna R., Secretary of Revenue Department Mr. Neelam Namdev Ekka and Commissioner of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi was also present.
Chief Minister remembers martyr Mahendra Karma on his birth anniversary

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has remembered the former minister and popular leader Late Mr. Mahendra Karma on his birth anniversary on 5th August. Remembering his contributions towards the state , Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Mahendra Karma was known as Bastar Tiger, because he used to speak vigorously for tribal rights and used to stand with tribals in every situation. Late Mr. Karma fought for the betterment of tribals till the last moment of his life. He was not just a politician, but also a very sensitive, aware and passionate person. Mr. Baghel further said "It was my privilege to have found such a selfless person and a transparent friend like him. Chhattisgarh will not forget his martyrdom in the Jhiram Ghati Naxal attack."
Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Karma took important responsibilities as a Leader of Opposition and Minister in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and made his invaluable contribution towards the development of Chhattisgarh. In order to make the memories of Mr. Mahendra Karma lasting, the State Government has named Bastar University after him and a social security scheme namely 'Shaheed Mahendra Karma Tendu Patta Sangrahak samajik Yojna' has been started for the tendu patta collecting families of the state in his name. Mr. Baghel said that Mr. Karma's thoughts and values of life will always inspire us.

The Har Ghar Jhanda Campaign is being organized to make the Amrit Mahotsav of India’s independence memorable. This year on Independence Day, Tricolors made by the women in Chhattisgarh’s women's self-help groups will be hoisted under the Har Ghar Jhanda campaign. To make this campaign a success, the women belonging to the state’s self-help groups are making the tricolors while keeping the spirit of national service alive, and are also becoming economically empowered. Women of the Parvati Self-help Group in the Dantewada district are preparing tricolors. These women view the work of making tricolors not as a mere task but as a service to the nation.
Mrs. Yamini Sahu of the women's self-help group in Mahasamund district’s Komakhan said that she has just received an order to make 1500 flags, and more orders are expected. She added while expressing her happiness that she is proud of the fact that the flags made by the women in her group will be hoisted in the homes and Government offices of the district. While the work of making flags is awakening the spirit of patriotism, on one hand, it is also providing employment to women on the other. The responsibility to make the national flags has been given to women's self-help groups.

Honouring the sentiments of the localites, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to change the names of three places in the state. As per the instructions of Chief Minister, Chandkhuri, Giraudpuri and Sonakhan will now be renamed after the great personas and spiritual figures of the area. Chandkhuri will be known as Mata Kaushalya Dham Chandkhuri, Giraudpuri will be renamed as Baba Guru Ghasidas Dham Giraudpuri and Sonakhan will be called Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Dham Sonakhan. Many public representatives and localites have been demanding change of these names in aforementioned way for a long time. State Government would soon publish notification regarding renaming of these three places in gazette.
Today, Parliamentary Secretaries Mr. Chandradev Rai, Mr. Gurudayal Singh Banjare, Mr. Indershah Mandavi, Mr. U.D. Minj and MLAs Mr. Brihaspat Singh, Mr. Gulab Singh Kamro and Dr. Vinay Jaiswal had submitted their letter in this regard to Chief Minister, urging him to change the names of Giraudpuri and Sonakhan according to the public sentiments. Rajeshri Dr. Mahant Ramsunder Das, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Gauseva Aayog, had also written a letter to the Chief Minister on July 28 i.e. on the day of Hareli Tihaar, requesting to rename Chandkhuri as Mata Kaushalyadham Chandkhuri. Taking a quick decision on these demands, Chief Minister has given instructions for new naming of these places.
The only Kaushalya temple in the world is situated in Chandkhuri, adjacent to Raipur. There Lord Shri Ram is seated in his child form along with Mata Kaushalya. Chhattisgarh is considered to be the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya and 'nanihaal' of Shri Ram. The state government has renovated the Mata Kaushalya temple, located in the middle of the pond, and has also beautified the pond. This renovation of Chandkhuri, the center of reverence for lakhs of people of the country and the state, was renovated under the project of Shri Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. A giant statue of Lord Shri Ram has also been established here near the pond.
Located in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, Giroudpuri is the center of faith for lakhs of followers of Satnam Panth. This is the birthplace and tapobhoomi of Baba Guru Ghasidas. For a long time, Satnami Samaj and the localites here have been demanding to rename Giroudpuri as Baba Guru Ghasidas Dham Giroudpuri. Chief Minister has fulfilled this much awaited demand today.
Sonakhan area in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district is known for the valour of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, the first martyr of Chhattisgarh in the first freedom struggle of 1857. After his arrest by the British, he was hanged on 10 December 1857 at Jaistambh Chowk in Raipur. To honour the struggle and sacrifices of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh for the poor and oppressed, local public representatives had been demanding addition of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh’s name to the name of Sonakhan area for a long time. Now, with the renaming of the area as per public sentiments, the valor and sacrifices of Shaheed Veernarayan Singh of Binjhwar tribe will always be remembered.

Chief Justice of India,Mr. N. V. Ramana said in Raipur today that the Chhattisgarh government is taking care of every aspect of the budget and infrastructure related requirements of the judicial community. He expressed hope that this trend would continue and Chhattisgarh would emerge as a leading state in providing best infrastructure to the Judiciary. Chief Justice Mr. N. V. Ramana congratulated the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for actively cooperating in the development of legal education in Chhattisgarh. He congratulated the Chief Minister for the efforts being made by him to provide good governance to the people of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the country, Justice Mr. NV Ramana, attended the fifth convocation of Hidayatullah National Law University as the chief guest in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Addressing the students present in the convocation, he said "all of you should have a vision and to achieve it with utmost enthusiasm and passion". He further said "that all of you are precious to this country and we all need to take the talented minds in the right direction."
Complimenting the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, CJI Mr. NV Ramana said that it has been named after a great jurist who devoted his entire life to the cause of law. While congratulating the students at the convocation, he said that knowledge and information are the biggest assets and we can only grow by using them properly.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the convocation ceremony as a special guest. While releasing the sixth edition of Journal Law and Social Science of Hidayatullah National Law University, Mr. baghel distributed degrees to the gold medalist students and wished them good luck for their bright future.
On the occasion of the fifth convocation of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, two scholars were conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Apart from this, a total of 23 students were awarded with 66 gold medals. Ankit Pal of the year 2020 batch was awarded 6 gold medals and Pallavi Mishra of the year 2021 batch was the overall topper with 11 gold medals.
The convocation was presided over by the Hon'ble Supreme Court Justice Shri S Abdul Nazeer. Justice BV Nagarathna of the Supreme Court was also present at the convocation. The Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court and Chancellor of Hidayatullah National Law University Shri Arup Kumar Goswami and Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court Shri Prashant Mishra were also present on the occasion. Chhattisgarh Law Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar and Tribal Welfare Department Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam were also present in the convocation ceremony.

"Ever since our government was formed, expeditious work has been done for the economic empowerment of every section of the society, whether it is a farmer or a laborer or a fiaherman. Numerous works have been done for the betterment of the fishermen class. We have created Fisheries policy which is very conducive for people involved in fish farming and continous works are being done for the betterment of the ecosystem of fisheries. We have given agriculture status to fisheries, due to which now fishermen are availing zero percent loan facility. Conditions of the fishermen of the state has improved as they have started getting similar facilities like farmers. With this, the standard of living for fishermen is improving day by day, fishermen of the state are moving towards economic growth rapidly, and will contribute towards a better future for fisheries in India." Said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the Mahasammelan of Dhivar Samaj organized in the auditorium of the Agricultural University.
After the completion of the land allotment process to the fishermen community, he also talked about helping them build a well-equipped building for the society. The Chief Minister also administered the oath for the newly elected office bearers of the fishermen society.
The Chief Minister said that the average fish productivity of our state has reached 4000 metric tonnes per hectare. Progressive fish farmers have started producing 8000 to 10,000 metric tonnes per hectare by rearing improved species. State government run fisheries policies and the nature and environment of Chhattisgarh is completely conducive for fish farming. He further said that a favourable environment for fisheries is available in the state due to the geographical position and fisheries policies of our state, so there is a lot of potential for fisheries business. Moreover, Continous effort is being made by the government to increase fish production.
Along with villages, big dams are also being used for fish farming. Even in the courtyard of a house, people are indulging in fish farming by making a tank. He said that a provision has been made to provide 40 percent grant-in-aid to fish farmers on a unit of Rs 7.50 lakh to promote fisheries with bio-floc technology. The Chief Minister said that the schemes made by the government for the fishermen community should be prepared and distributed to the members of the society by making pamphlets and giving information about it in social meetings.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that for fish farming in the state, irrigation dams and reservoirs for water supply through canals were required in an area of 30,000 hectares, for which the fish farmers had to pay a fee of Rs. 4 per 10000 feet . But now there is no need for them to pay a single penny. Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that since the formation of our government, it has been the intention of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel that the traditional fishermen society should be given priority over the fishery pond sources of the villages. Continuous work is being done by the government to protect their interests. Mr. Choubey said that some issues have been raised by the fishermen society, work will be done to resolve their issues accordingly. If any pond in a village is marked in the name of Nistari and if it is allotted to any other class and given for fisheries, then in such a situation necessary action will be taken by identifying the Panch, Sarpach of the concerned Gram Panchayat. He also assured the fishermen to rectify the confusion regarding the definition in the fisheries policy.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has expressed profound grief over the death of five workers in the incident of lightning in Mahasamund district. He has directed the Collector to provide better treatment facilities to the six workers injured in the incident. Mr. Baghel has given instructions to sanction financial aid of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased workers, as per the provisions of RBC 6-4. It is noteworthy that Kumari Janaki, Kumari Laxmi Yadav, Shrimati Basanti Nag, Shrimati Jamovati, Shrimati Noharmati passed away in the lightning incident that occured in village Ghatkachar under Thana Singhoda of Mahasamund district. In this incident, Shrimati Pankajni Yadav, Shrimati Parvati Malik, Shrimati Tapaswani, Shrimati Punni, Shrimati Geetanjali, Shrimati Shashi got injured. These injured victims are undergoing treatment at Saraipali health centre.

Today, on the occasion of Hareli Tihaar', Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel flagged off Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath from his Raipur based residence, and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the initiative. The program was commenced with the State Song of Chhattisgarh. Rath Yatra was flagged off with the slogan of "Baat He Abhimaan Ke, Mahila Man Ke Samman Ke". Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women has taken this initiative of Nyay Rath Yatra with the aim of making women of the state aware of their constitutional rights and laws.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also administered the oath of ensuring security, justice and empowerment of women. On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Gauseva Commission Chairman Mahant Shri Ram Sundar Das, MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma, Chairman of State Food Supply Corporation Mr. Ram Gopal Agrawal and a large number of people were present.
Under this initiative of Chhattisgarh Women Commission for women empowerment, Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra will go from village to village in all the districts to create mass awareness about the legal provisions and constitutional rights of women. The Information regarding women's right and concerning laws will be spread through short films, messages and brochures. In the first phase, the Rath will cover nine districts of the state, starting from Durg. Through this Rath Yatra, women will also be provided free legal aid. Each Mahatari Nyay Rath will have two advocates, who will listen to the grievances of women and counsel them. Women will also be able to submit their applications to State Women Commission through Nyay Rath. National award-winning short films in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi, based on various laws, will be screened on large LED screens during the Rath Yatra. State government has made special changes in the DMF policy, to operate Mahtari Nyay Rath under DMF.
Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Women Commission Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said that it is very important for all the women, educated-uneducated, housewives-working, to be aware of the functions of the Women's Commission, to be informed about the laws and rules, and to have the knowledge of their rights. And with an aim to make women of the state aware and informed in the context, Chhattisgarh Women Commission has started Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra from the day of Hareli Tihar. With the help of Mahatari Nyay Rath, women will be informed about the process of applying to the Commission for redressal of their problems and for free legal aid. Women Commission has already issued WhatsApp number 9098382225, on which women can register their complaints with the Commission.
Dr. Nayak said that in the last three and a half years, state government has implemented many schemes to empower the mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh socially, economically and politically. The success of these schemes has become an example for the entire country. Now, moving a step further, Chhattisgarh Government has come up with another one-of-its-kind scheme to boost confidence of women by making them aware of their legal rights. This scheme will play an important role in controlling the crimes against women in the state.
Nine districts of the state to be covered in the first phase of Rath Yatra
Mukhyamantri Mahtari Nyay Rath will initially tour nine districts of the state that receive the Mineral Trust fund, i.e. Durg, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Kanker. Later, Nyay Rath Yatra will cover remaining districts of the state.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh government is working on the adoption of technological-driven farming, which has opened the doors of opportunities for new possibilities in the field of agriculture development. Today, he launched the ‘Complete Agriculture Drone Solution’ in a program organized on the occasion of ‘Hareli Tihar’ in Karsa village of Patan block in Durg district.
The medicine can be sprayed within half an hour on 4 acres of fields using agriculture drones. The amount of medicine that is needed can also be determined through the machine. Usually, a farmer takes 3 hours for spraying medicine on 1 acre of land. There is also a problem of availability of labour for spraying in rural areas. Using this method, the farmers can save time and can also increase their income. Agri Ambulance will provide the facility of Agriculture Lab which will be able to do site testing.
The people associated with the project told him that drone technology would add many facilities for the development of farming. It is noteworthy that the project will work on the PPP model. Only one machine can be used for 20 villages and this can be used by any working group. Only the youth of the group will be trained to operate the drone. He praised this innovation and said that the techniques of farming that we have learned from our ancestors and adding modern techniques to it, we can reach new heights in farming. He instructed to continue such innovations to promote technology-driven farming. Agri Ambulance will also work to provide organic manure. The Chief Minister said that the members of the group would become technically proficient and they can use the remaining time for livelihood activities other than farming. He also interacted with Kanchan Srivastava, Harshit Hundit, and Vinay Srivastava associated with the project. Advisor to Chief Minister Mr.Pradeep Sharma was also present on the occasion.

‘Hareli Tihar’—the first festival of Chhattisgarh—was celebrated with great pomp and show at the residence of Chief Minister here on Thursday. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with his spouse Smt. Mukteshwari Baghel and other relatives, worshiped the rural deities, Tulsi Mata, ‘Nangar’ (plough), agricultural equipments, ‘Gedi’ and ‘Gaumata’ and prayed for a good harvest. He extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of ‘Hareli’. Chief Minister’s residence was decked up in a rural setting depicting vibrant culture of Chhattisgarh. The attendees enjoyed Chhattisgarhi folk music and dance, traditional ‘Gadwa Baja’, ‘Raut Nacha’, Gedi dance, folk games, ‘raichuli’ and traditional delicacies.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel encouraged the folk dance artists by performing Gedi dance with them. The Chief Minister also tried his hand at a game of ‘Bhaura’ (spinning top).
