Durg . Two laborers died after being crushed under the wall of a mud house under the Dhamdha police station. The incident occurred in Hiretra village, where they were digging the foundation of a house. Meanwhile, the wall of an adjacent mud house collapsed, burying them both. Police said that Gurudev Chandel, a resident of Hiretra village, began digging the foundation for his house on Friday morning. He hired Kamal Narayan Thakur, Ishwari Gaikwad, Poshan Dange, and Durgesh Thakur, residents of Pendravan village, to work. Around 9 a.m., the four young men began digging the foundation. Next to the site where the foundation was being dug, there was a house built of unbaked mud. Within an hour, they dug two to three feet deep. Meanwhile, a portion of the mud wall of the house collapsed, burying Kamal Narayan Thakur (25) and Ishwari Gaikwad (35). The other two workers, working at a distance, narrowly escaped being crushed under the wall.

Upon learning of the incident, police were immediately informed by calling 112. Meanwhile, villagers pulled the two young men from the debris. They were brought to the Dhamdha Community Health Center for first aid, where doctors declared Kamal Narayan dead.
