Jashpur. CG NEWS: The accused who raped a woman on the pretext of marriage has been arrested in the district. The accused had absconded after the victim became pregnant, but was caught by the police. The accused was absconding since he was granted bail by the court. The police searched for the accused, caught him and sent him to jail. A case has been registered against the accused in Tumla police station under sections 366, 376(2)(N) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST Act.

In fact, in the year 2022, a 27-year-old woman from the Tumla police station area had lodged a report at the Tumla police station that the accused Rameshwar alias Ramesh Singh had raped her on the pretext of marriage and had absconded after the applicant became pregnant.

In this case, the police registered a case at Tumla police station under sections 366, 376(2)(N) of the Indian Penal Code and section 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST Act and initiated investigation. Upon finding sufficient evidence of the crime during the investigation, the accused, Rameshwar alias Ramesh Singh, was arrested in 2022 and sent to jail on judicial remand.

The accused, Rameshwar alias Ramesh Singh, had been absconding since being granted bail by the court. Despite repeated notices issued by the court, he failed to appear in court, leading to a permanent warrant being issued against him.The police were continuously investigating the case and were investigating the case of Rameshwar alias Ramesh Singh, a permanent warrantee. With the help of an informant and a technical team, the police learned that the absconding accused was in the Tapkara area. Following the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Jashpur, Shashi Mohan Singh, a cordon was immediately laid and the absconding permanent warrantee, Rameshwar alias Ramesh Singh, age 28, was taken into custody. The accused was arrested and presented before the court.
