Durg:  A case of attack on a municipal corporation team has come to light from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh's Durg district. The municipal corporation team, which arrived to remove illegal encroachments, was attacked by encroachers and vehicles were vandalized. The encroachers also accused the zone commissioner of accepting bribes, prompting the commissioner to file a complaint at the police station.

Allegations of action without notice

This entire incident occurred in the Supela police station area. When the Municipal Corporation team, along with the Zone Commissioner, arrived to remove the illegal encroachment, the encroachers, accusing them of taking action without notice, surrounded them and vandalized vehicles. They also accused the Zone Commissioner of taking bribes. The Zone Commissioner, calling the allegations baseless, has filed a complaint at the police station.

Complaint was received regarding illegal construction

According to reports, the Municipal Corporation of Bhilai Zone 1 had been receiving complaints for several days about illegal construction in Nehru Nagar Sector 9. The corporation's team had issued seven notices in the past six months for unauthorized construction. When the illegal construction continued unabated, the corporation team arrived at the site on Monday with a demolition squad and initiated action.

Complaint filed against the occupants

When the municipal team removed the illegal construction, the homeowner and four to five others surrounded the municipal team and Zone Commissioner Ajay Singh Rajput, accusing them of extorting 5,000 rupees. The Zone Commissioner then went to the police station and filed a complaint, calling all the allegations against him baseless. He also filed a complaint against the encroachers, accusing them of obstructing government work.
