Following the instructions of Collector Kondagaon in the monthly review meeting of the District Water and Sanitation Mission, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has taken strict action after negligence, slow progress and poor quality were found in the ongoing works under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The department has cancelled a total of 37 works of 19 contractors with immediate effect, whose estimated cost is approximately Rs 31.17 crore.

The Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department said that many contractors did not start the work or did not show the expected progress, while at many places the construction of water tanks and water supply as well as bore mining work were not done, in view of these serious irregularities the department has taken this strict step.

The tender for the remaining work of the cancelled contracts, involving security deposit of about Rs 23.38 lakh of the contractors, is also under process. Apart from this, the security deposit will also be confiscated and these contractors will be banned (blacklisted) from participating in the upcoming tenders.

Construction, M/s Aakar Construction, Shri Mahesh Vidwani, M/s Aadhar Construction, M/s Kritisha Incorporation, Merarch Greenworld Solar Wares Pvt. Ltd., GRD Buildcon, M/s R.M. Dealers, M/s Brahmesh Construction, M/s MD Services, M/s Shubham Construction, M/s Basant Kumar Sahu, M/s Vienna Infra Telecom, M/s Bharat Infra, M/s Goyal Agency.
