00 A grand state level function was held in Surajpur in the presence of Minister Laxmi Rajwade
Raipur. On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a grand state level function was organized today at Surajpur Theatre, in which Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade participated and encouraged the disabled people. In her address, she said that disabled people are an invaluable strength of the society and ensuring their respect, rights and equal opportunities is the top priority of the state government. She also mentioned that the state government is effectively implementing several schemes to promote education, employment, health and self-reliance of the disabled people
Minister Smt. Rajwade said that it is the responsibility of every section of the society to be sensitive towards the disabled and provide them support and encouragement, so that they can become self-reliant and move forward strongly in the mainstream of the society. MLA Bhulan Singh Maravi, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation Ramsevak Paikra, District Panchayat President Smt. Chandramani Paikra, Municipal Council President Smt. Kusumlata Rajwade, Surajpur Collector S. Jaivardhan, Director of Social Welfare Smt. Roktima Yadav along with public representatives, departmental officers-employees and a large number of disabled people were present in the program.
The event included distribution of assistive devices, awareness programs, informational activities, health counseling, and cultural presentations for individuals with disabilities. Performances by artists with disabilities impressed all audiences. Attendees at this state-level event pledged to further strengthen the empowerment, respect, and social participation of individuals with disabilities.
