Jashpur. The accused of raping a minor student has been arrested. The accused had kidnapped the student from near her home and taken her to the forest where he raped her. Based on a complaint from the victim's mother, the accused youth was arrested and sent to jail. On December 13th, a woman from a village in the Kunkuri police station area filed a report stating that on the evening of December 12th, her 14-year-old minor daughter, a Class 7 student at a government school, was warming a fire near her house. When she did not return home by around 9 pm, the complainant went out of her house and found her minor daughter missing. The woman, along with her family, searched the neighborhood, friends', and relatives' homes, but could not find her. She suspected that someone had lured her minor daughter away. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, a case was registered at Kunkuri police station under sections 137(2), 87, 64, 65(1) of the Missing Persons Act and sections 3, 4 of the POCSO Act and taken up for investigation.

With the help of family members and questions from villagers, the police learned that while the minor girl was warming herself near her home, a man arrived on a motorcycle and abducted her. During the investigation, the accused was identified as Vicky Ram Chauhan, a resident of a village in the Kansabel police station area. A police team immediately raided the home of the accused, a resident of the Kansabel police station. The minor girl was recovered from his possession and taken into custody. Upon questioning, the minor girl revealed that she had befriended him on the social media site Instagram. On December 2nd, the accused, Vicky Ram Chauhan, lured the minor girl from near her home into a forest, saying, "Let's go for a walk." At around 8:30 p.m., he forcibly raped her, declaring, "I love you and I will marry you." He then took her on his motorcycle to his home village. The police also conducted a medical examination of the minor girl in the case. Upon police interrogation, the accused, Vicky Ram Chauhan, age 19, confessed to the crime and was found to have sufficient evidence against him. He was arrested and sent to jail on judicial remand. The Bajaj motorcycle number CG-BC-9194 used in the incident was also seized from the accused's possession.
