Gambling den sealed! Anti-Crime Unit takes major action, causing panic

Raipur: Police arrested four gamblers near the Munibaba forest in Chhatera village, located in the Arang police station area of ​​the district. This action was carried out by a joint team of the Anti-Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and the Arang police station.

During the police raid, the accused were found gambling with playing cards. ₹45,000 in cash and a deck of cards were recovered from the scene. The arrested accused have been identified as Kamta Sinha, Kailash Thakur, Meghnath Nishad, and Chautaram Nishad. All of the accused are residents of the Arang police station area.

A case has been registered against the gamblers at Arang Police Station under the Chhattisgarh State Gambling Prohibition Act 2022. Police said that special campaigns are being continuously conducted in the district to prevent gambling and betting.

The action was taken on the instructions of Inspector General of Police Amresh Mishra and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh. Officials have appealed to the public not to participate in illegal gambling or betting and to immediately inform the police if they become aware of such activities.
