Raipur. With the paddy procurement for the Kharif marketing year 2025-26, Chhattisgarh's villages have not only been blessed with paddy, but also with a new crop of trust, satisfaction, and self-confidence. A living example of the government's farmer-friendly policies is Mrs. Chauti Bai Sahu, a woman farmer from Sambalpur village in Dhamtari district. Her story has emerged as a powerful example of sensitive governance and good administration.
Until now, Chauti Bai's husband had been responsible for the family's paddy sales, but this year, due to health reasons, she took on this responsibility herself. For her, this was not just a process of selling paddy, but a new journey of self-reliance and self-confidence. She arrived at the procurement center with 57 quintals of paddy, according to the pre-determined token. Despite shouldering such a significant responsibility for the first time, Chauti Bai's face clearly reflected no nervousness, but rather, satisfaction and confidence. She explained that the procurement center's well-organized, transparent, and farmer-friendly system made the entire experience easy and respectful. All the necessary facilities like gunny bags, porters, digital weighing machines, trained operators, drinking water, toilets and electricity were available at the centre, due to which the farmers did not face any problem.

Chauti Bai plans to provide better treatment for her husband with the proceeds from the paddy sale. Her gratitude to the government is evident in her voice. She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the government's decision to provide a support price of Rs. 3,100 per quintal and purchase 21 quintals of paddy per acre has proven to be a support for farmers. This has not only made farming profitable but has also provided economic security to rural families.
