Jungle safari to be started in Bhoramdev, Chhattisgarh's 'Khajuraho'
Raipur - Under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Chhattisgarh's tourism and wildlife conservation sector is moving in a new direction. Jungle safaris will soon be launched for tourists in the historically and naturally important Bhoramdev Sanctuary, located in Kabirdham district. This initiative will not only promote eco-tourism in the state but will also increase public awareness about wildlife conservation.
A memorable experience for nature lovers and tourists
Under this plan, prepared under the guidance of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Mr. Arun Kumar Pandey, a safari route of approximately 34 kilometers has been developed. During the safari, tourists will be able to see wildlife such as gaur, chital, sambar, bear, and wild boar in their natural habitat. The special feature of this jungle safari is the narrow river route, where the safari will offer the thrilling experience of crossing the river approximately 17 times. This route passes through the dense forests of the Maikal mountain range, which will provide a memorable experience for nature lovers and tourists.
Local villagers will get employment opportunities
The Forest Department has prioritized local participation in this project. The safari vehicles will be operated by the Thanwarjhol Forest Management Committee, providing employment opportunities to local villagers and strengthening the local economy of the region. The Forest Department is in the final stages of completing all necessary preparations for the safe and smooth operation of the safari. With the launch of the Jungle Safari, pilgrims and tourists visiting Bhoramdev will now be able to enjoy the historical sights of the 'Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh' as well as the thrill of wildlife.
