Nepal asset probe: 7 former PMs on radar, 20 years of accounts to be revealed
New Delhi. Nepal's political landscape is about to be shaken. Prime Minister Balen Shah's government has taken a decision that could cause significant political leaders to lose their sleep.
The government has established a special commission to investigate the assets of politicians and officials who have been in power since 2006. This investigation has now covered not just one or two, but seven former Prime Ministers.
The list includes prominent names like Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, and KP Sharma Oli. Additionally, more than 100 ministers and several senior officials will also be under investigation.
The government says this step is aimed at curbing corruption and illegal wealth. A high-level panel, comprised of former judges and senior officials, has been formed to conduct an impartial investigation into the matter.
Now everyone's eyes are on who gets trapped in this investigation and how big revelations come to light.
