President Murmu arrives in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh to attend 'Bastar Pandum 2026' celebrations

The President was given a warm welcome by Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.

President Murmu has arrived to inaugurate the three-day division level 'Bastar Pandum 2026' to be held at the historic Lalbag ground in Jagdalpur headquarters.

Celebrating "Bastar Pandum 2026," a "festival of nature and tradition" organized by the Department of Culture and the Chhattisgarh government, the celebrations began today. This three-day event will be a historic moment not only for Bastar but for the entire state, where modernity will be combined with the fragrance of the soil. To enhance the grandeur and dignity of this event, the country's first citizen and President Draupadi Murmu has specially come to Bastar as the chief guest. The President's presence will give this cultural extravaganza a new identity on the national stage.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, and Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap greeted the President at the airport. Member of Parliament Mahesh Kashyap, Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singh Deo, and Mayor Sanjay Pandey also greeted and welcomed the President. Commissioner Doman Singh, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P., Collector Akash Chhikara, and Superintendent of Police Shalabh Sinha, along with other public representatives, also extended a warm welcome to the President.
